Abstract

With the increasing penetration of computer networks connected to the internet, the risk of network intrusion is also on the rise. Such intrusions attempt to bypass network security mechanisms. One way to detect intrusions is by analyzing network traffic activities. However, manually analyzing all network data can be cumbersome and time-consuming. You can use decision trees to classify network events based on specific attributes. This enables the creation of rules that can detect anomalies in network traffic patterns. We can develop these rules by mapping network events to unique segments within the decision tree. Constructing rules based on the sequence of segments from the decision tree allows for the identification of intrusion indicators, aiding in detecting intrusion attempts in the network. This approach provides a more efficient means for network analysts to identify abnormal network traffic activities without the need for manual inspection of every data point. Thus, the use of decision trees enhances the capability to detect network intrusions, safeguarding computer networks from increasingly complex and diverse cyber threats. This represents a crucial step in fortifying our digital infrastructure's security.

Abstract

The Brainly application has a user interface that is user friendly and easy for users to understand. The suitability of icons, colors, feature layouts, and instructions means that users do not need to use guidebooks or get confused looking for application instructions, users only need to imitate behavior according to the knowledge they understand. Based on the results of the study through several aspects, namely aspects of human, technology, usability, and ergonomics. This application is in great demand by users or users, especially students because this application makes it easy to learn in a fun and interesting way with presentations that are not only in the form of text but contain content in other forms such as videos, animations, and practice questions on each topic. Then at the end of the lesson a report on learning outcomes with interesting technology is presented where the user can find out the extent of his ability on each topic being worked on. Apart from that, there is no doubt about its functionality, because Brainly is an online learning platform that provides experienced private teachers who can be easily found through its learning services.

Abstract

Weather forecasting is one of the important areas in human life. Planning, transportation, agriculture, and tourism are just a few of the uses for weather forecasts. Weather forecasting is the process of predicting future weather conditions. Various methods exist for weather forecasting, including manual and computer-based methods. The manual calculation process for weather prediction still lacks accuracy, so researchers conducted a study to develop a simple system that can produce more accurate weather predictions. The method used in this study is a Naïve Bayes classifier by using training data as data for an event from previously known facts or reality. The final test results, conducted on a simple system and compared with manual calculations, demonstrated a higher level of accuracy.

Abstract

This research proposes and applies a decision-making system to determine priorities in the allocation of educational funding assistance letters by utilizing the Top-Down Parsing method. The aim of this research is to increase efficiency in managing the allocation of education funds through the implementation of parsing technology for analysis and processing of letters requesting financial assistance. This system is designed to automatically analyze sentence structures, identify relevant information, and determine funding allocation priorities based on predetermined criteria. Through simulation experiments, this research evaluates the effectiveness and accuracy of the system in prioritizing letters requesting funding for education. The research results show that the application of the Top-Down Parsing method in the decision-making system is able to increase efficiency in the education fund allocation process. Nonetheless, this research highlights the need for regular maintenance and updating to maintain analytical accuracy.

Abstract

This study aims to classify the potential for obesity among students in the environment of UIN SU Medan using the Naïve Bayes Classification method. The prevalence of obesity has become a serious problem in various countries, with significant contributions from critical periods such as prenatal, infancy, adiposity rebound, and adolescence. The use of technology has become widespread in various layers of society, making knowledge and preventive efforts crucial in addressing obesity. Lifestyle changes due to increased time-consuming activities can affect the health of the academic community. Therefore, the application of technology is essential in addressing obesity from adolescence to adulthood. The Naïve Bayes Classification method has been found to be suitable for classifying the likelihood of obesity among the academic community in the UIN SU Medan environment. However, it is important to optimize the training and testing classification process by storing the results in memory (database) to enhance the classification process.

Abstract

A library is a room managed by an educational institution, providing a variety of book collections. The purpose of this study is to develop a web-based application that can facilitate the process of borrowing and returning books at the provincial library of North Sumatra. The web-based book borrowing application at the Provincial Library and Archives of North Sumatra is used to facilitate the process of borrowing and returning books, as well as to help the people of North Sumatra in finding information and expanding their knowledge from the books available at the Provincial Library and Archives of North Sumatra through more advanced library services. The method used in the development of this system is the waterfall model (Software Development Life Cycle). This model uses a systematic and sequential approach, with phases such as requirements, design, implementation, verification, and maintenance. The results of this study show that the web-based book borrowing and returning application at the Provincial Library and Archives of North Sumatra can facilitate the process of borrowing and returning books, with features such as users being able to borrow and return books online, view a list of available books, and track the status of their book loans online.

Abstract

Adequate lecture facilities and infrastructure are important factors in supporting the teaching and learning process, especially at the Faculty of Public Health Sciences, State Islamic University of North Sumatra, where there is a Health Laboratory Unit with the availability of tools to support practicum activities. Lecture facilities such as practical tools and measuring instruments have a great risk of damage and loss, so a good tool loan transaction recording system is needed so that borrower data and the existence of tools can be known. With the condition of students who increase every year, the application of the manual system is no longer efficient and effective to apply. Therefore, this study focuses on the development of a web-based information system to support the laboratory equipment lending process at the Faculty of Public Health. The main results show that this system can help improve the efficiency of the equipment lending and returning process by reducing administrative barriers and providing transparency on laboratory equipment inventory data. The research process involves problem identification, system development, testing, evaluation and revision. The main problems found at the research location were such as the equipment lending process which was previously done manually, causing recording errors and data loss and lack of transparency in equipment availability so that there were often schedule conflicts or user ignorance about the status of the equipment. The system developed aims to overcome the problems that exist in the laboratory by presenting a more practical and integrated information technology-based solution.

Abstract

Quality Hajj services are essential to the pilgrims' experience, and feedback management is one way to improve that quality. This research was conducted at the Hajj Section of the Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Deli Serdang Regency, which faces obstacles in monitoring and evaluating services due to the absence of a structured system for managing pilgrims' feedback. The purpose of this research is to design a web-based information system that is effective in collecting, processing, and analyzing pilgrims' feedback to improve Hajj services. The technologies used include PHP as the application development platform and MySQL as the database. Data were obtained through surveys and interviews with service users, then tested on 50 users. The results showed that the system increased user satisfaction by 30% based on pre- and post-implementation indicators. The information system provides real-time analytical reports, makes it easier for staff to identify problems, and improves service responsiveness and transparency. Initial implementation at the Deli Serdang District Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs demonstrated the system's effectiveness in supporting the evaluation and improvement of Hajj services. This study concludes that the implementation of a feedback information system can significantly improve the quality of Hajj services and has the potential to be implemented in other Ministry of Religious Affairs offices to support the improvement of service quality nationally.

Abstract

Manual recording of visit lists at the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Deli Serdang Regency faces challenges such as the risk of damage to guest books, archive accumulation, and difficulties in periodic recapitulation, which hinder effective data management and decision-making. To address these issues and support the implementation of the smart government concept, this research aims to develop a modern and efficient web-based visit list information system. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method and the waterfall software development model, the system was built through stages of requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system includes two main interfaces: an admin section for visitor data management, recapitulation creation, Excel data export, and statistical visualization; and a user section for visit form submission and proof of registration. Built with PHP, Bootstrap, and MySQL, the system ensures a user-friendly interface and structured database. The application was tested using black-box testing to evaluate functionality and usability. Visitors successfully registered, with accurate proof of registration generated. Admin features, such as data management, recapitulation, and Excel export, operated effectively, while statistical visualizations provided actionable insights. The system demonstrated high performance, with fast response times and secure data management without loss or corruption. Usability testing revealed positive feedback, with users highlighting the intuitive interface and responsive design across devices. These results confirm the system’s ability to improve administrative efficiency, replace manual processes, and enhance transparency and accountability in public service delivery.

Abstract

This research discusses the design of a fiber-to-the-home network in Taman Sekata Indah Housing, Tanjung Selamat, Sunggal, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra 20351 using the Google Earth Pro application.
