Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of perceived accessibility, merchant sales promotion, and pain of paying on impulsive buying among Generation Z QRIS users in Manado City, both partially and simultaneously. This research is motivated by the rapid growth of QRIS usage in Indonesia, which reached a transaction value of IDR 317 trillion with more than 57 million active users in the second quarter of 2025, alongside the increasing phenomenon of unplanned purchasing behavior among Generation Z as the primary users of this digital payment technology. This study employs a quantitative approach with a causal design (explanatory research). The theoretical foundations used are the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) Theory and Mental Accounting Theory. The study population consists of Generation Z QRIS users in Manado City, with a sample of 100 respondents determined using the Lemeshow formula and purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through a questionnaire measured using a Likert Scale. The analysis technique employed is multiple linear regression using IBM SPSS 27 software, encompassing validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, F-test, t-test, and coefficient of determination (R²) test. The results indicate that: (1) Perceived accessibility has a positive and significant effect on impulsive buying (t = 2.176; Sig. = 0.032); (2) Merchant sales promotion has a positive and significant effect on impulsive buying (t = 2.279; Sig. = 0.025); (3) Pain of paying has a positive and significant effect on impulsive buying and is the most dominant variable (t = 3.150; Sig. = 0.002; β = 0.314); (4) Simultaneously, all three variables have a positive and significant effect on impulsive buying (F = 9.972; Sig. < 0.001). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.238 indicates that the three independent variables explain 23.8% of the variation in impulsive buying, while the remaining 76.2% is influenced by other factors outside this research model.

Abstract

This study aims to map innovative solutions based on multi-stakeholder collaboration to optimize the implementation of the Child-Friendly Schools (CFS) Policy in Labuhanbatu Regency, which in practice still faces various obstacles. Through a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques such as literature review, in-depth interviews, observations, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) in three elementary schools, this study identifies the root causes of the problems. The main findings reveal that the obstacles to the implementation of the CFS are multidimensional, including a substantial lack of understanding of the CFS among educators and parents, limited financial and human resources, resistance to changes in school culture, and weak coordination and active participation from all stakeholders, including children. The value and contribution of this study lies in the proposition of a systemic solution that fills the gap in existing literacy, which goes beyond problem identification. This study recommends a series of integrated innovative solutions, such as the use of digital platforms for outreach and complaints, continuous capacity building of educators, strengthening child participation through official forums, and most importantly, the establishment of a multi-stakeholder collaboration forum and the integration of the CFS policy into regional planning and budgeting (RPJMD/APBD). Key recommendations emphasize the establishment of a multi-stakeholder collaboration forum involving schools, local governments, communities, and the business world, as well as the establishment of an independent monitoring team to ensure accountability.

Abstract

Digitalization has become a key strategy for enhancing the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) amidst advances in information technology and changes in consumer behavior. The use of various digital platforms, such as social media, marketplaces, digital payment applications, and technology-based financial recording systems, is expected to improve operational efficiency and expand marketing reach. However, the level of digital technology utilization by 3 Kg LPG distribution outlets remains varied, necessitating a more in-depth study of the impact of digitalization on business performance. This study aims to analyze the impact of digitalization on MSME performance based on interviews with owners and managers of 3 Kg LPG distribution outlets under PT Pinang Baris Langit Biru. The study employed a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of 3 Kg LPG distribution outlets that have implemented digitalization in their business activities. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results indicate that the implementation of digitalization has a positive impact on MSME performance, particularly at 3 Kg LPG distribution outlets, including increasing sales, expanding market share, accelerating transaction processes, improving promotional effectiveness, and simplifying business administration and financial management. However, several obstacles remain, such as low digital literacy, limited human resources, and limited access to technology. Therefore, support in the form of training, mentoring, and government policies is needed to improve digital capabilities at 3 Kg LPG distribution outlets so that digital transformation can proceed optimally.

Abstract

This study examines how a non-diasporic public in the Global South engages with a foreign election in which it holds no vote, no residence, and no direct material stake. Rather than asking how Indonesian netizens represent Zohran Mamdani, the first Muslim Mayor of New York City, it asks what talking about Mamdani does for these netizens as members of their own polity, and develops the concept of comparative civic imagination: the use of a foreign political figure as a discursive instrument for evaluating, criticising, and re-imagining one’s own democracy. The study applies qualitative Computer-Mediated Discourse Analysis (CMDA) to public Indonesian-language discourse about Mamdani on platform X between 1 November 2025 and 30 June 2026, drawing on a purposively constructed corpus of 213 units—134 citizen-account units as the analytical core and 79 media-account units as contextual triangulation—recoded by comparative function and affective register rather than by stance toward the figure. The findings show that Indonesian netizens engage Mamdani through a comparative architecture organised by the vernacular frame “Mamdani Indonesia” (45% of citizen units) and enacted through three repertoires: analogical personification, institutional benchmarking, and counterfactual transposition. The discourse is animated by civic despair—crystallised in the idiom “Indonesia could never”—which operates as a participatory rather than an apathetic affect, while a domestic value-compatibility filter of doctrinal, sectarian, and purity tests renders the admired model discursively non-transferable, closing a recursive loop theorised here as a digitally networked spectre of comparisons. The article shifts the analysis of transnational digital engagement away from cosmopolitan and diasporic assumptions toward the vicarious engagement of non-diasporic publics, re-theorises despair as a mode of civic engagement, and recovers Benedict Anderson’s spectre of comparisons for platform-era political communication in the Global South.

Abstract

Handwashing with soap is one of the most effective public health measures for preventing gastrointestinal and respiratory infections among children. However, despite ongoing health education efforts, many children still do not perform proper handwashing techniques. Interactive educational approaches, such as demonstration methods combined with songs, may enhance children's practical skills more effectively than conventional instruction. This study aimed to determine the effect of health education using a demonstration method on handwashing with soap skills among children in the BTN AL community, Entrop Subdistrict, South Jayapura District. A quantitative study with a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design was conducted involving 20 child participants selected through total sampling. The intervention consisted of a live demonstration of the WHO six-step handwashing technique accompanied by a modified version of the children's song Naik Becak. Participants' handwashing skills were assessed before and after the intervention using the WHO Standard Hand Hygiene Observation Checklist. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The findings demonstrated a significant improvement in children's handwashing skills following the intervention. Before receiving health education, most participants were unable to perform the recommended handwashing procedure correctly. After the intervention, 18 participants (90%) successfully demonstrated all six handwashing steps independently, while only two participants (10%) still required assistance. Statistical analysis showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.001). The study concludes that health education delivered through a demonstration method combined with a modified children's song effectively improves handwashing with soap skills among children. This approach may serve as an innovative and engaging strategy for promoting healthy hygiene behaviors in early childhood.

Abstract

Spent coffee grounds are one of the organic wastes that remain underutilized despite their significant potential to be transformed into value-added products. This community service program aimed to enhance the knowledge and practical skills of the residents of Jingkang Village in converting spent coffee grounds into aromatherapy candles and air fresheners based on the principles of the circular economy. The program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach consisting of problem identification, program planning, training implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and reflection. The activity involved 15 participants, including community members, micro-enterprise actors, and women's community groups. Program effectiveness was evaluated using pre-test and post-test assessments and analysed through a Paired Sample t-test. The results demonstrated that the average participant score increased from 46.70 to 86.00, representing an 84.15% improvement. Statistical analysis confirmed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.001). Furthermore, all program success indicators were achieved, including a 100% attendance rate, 100% participant competency in producing the products, a participant satisfaction level of 93.30%, and all products meeting usability standards. The novelty of this program lies in integrating the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, circular economy principles, and quantitative statistical evaluation into a community empowerment model utilizing spent coffee grounds as value-added products. This model has strong potential to be replicated in other coffee-producing communities to promote sustainable waste management and local economic development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Career Development, Culture Value, and Emotional Intelligence on Personal Branding with Self-Efficacy as a mediating variable in State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in Tegal City Government. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method by distributing questionnaires to 360 ASN consisting of Civil Servants (PNS) and Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK). The sampling technique used proportionate stratified random sampling, while data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with the help of SmartPLS 4. The results showed that Career Development, Culture Value, and Emotional Intelligence had a positive and significant effect on Self-Efficacy. In addition, these three variables also have a positive and significant effect on Personal Branding. Self-Efficacy was proven to have a positive and significant effect on Personal Branding and was able to significantly mediate the influence of Career Development, Culture Value, and Emotional Intelligence on Personal Branding. The coefficient of determination value shows that the model is able to explain 70.1% of the variation in Self-Efficacy and 76.8% of the variation in Personal Branding. The findings of this study indicate that strengthening the career development system, internalizing organizational cultural values, and increasing emotional intelligence can increase the self-confidence of ASN which ultimately strengthens Personal Branding in carrying out tasks and public services. This study provides an empirical contribution to the development of public sector human resource management, particularly in efforts to improve the professionalism and image of the apparatus through strengthening internal organizational factors.

Abstract

Women engaged in marine product processing play a crucial role in the national fisheries value chain, yet this strategic contribution has not been matched with formal recognition, access to resources, or decent welfare levels. This study aims to analyze the influence of religiosity and social factors on the empowerment and welfare of marine product processing women at the National Fisheries Port (PPN) Karangantu, Serang City, Banten, as well as to formulate a development strategy based on the synergy of these two factors. This research employs a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design, combining quantitative methods through PLS-SEM analysis on 235 respondents, and qualitative methods through in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The results show that religiosity and social factors have a positive and significant effect on women’s empowerment, which in turn impacts welfare improvement across economic, social, and psychological dimensions. Findings also reveal that religious values which currently focus mainly on ritual aspects, alongside patriarchal social norms, serve as key barriers; meanwhile, community support and the integration of religious values into economic activities act as major reinforcing factors. Based on SWOT analysis, this study proposes strategies for strengthening local value-based institutions, integrating empowerment programs with religious activities, and advocating for policies that support coastal women. This research contributes new insights by presenting an integrated model of religiosity and social dimensions in the empowerment of women in the fisheries sector, an area that has not been widely explored in previous studies.
