Abstract

Perlindungan hukum atas merek di Indonesia diatur dalam Undang-undang Nomor 20 Tahun 2016. Berdasarkan sistem konstitutif yang dianut, undang-undang itu mensyaratkan bahwa perlindungan hukum atas merek bisa diperoleh melalui pendaftaran, artinya ada kewajiban bagi pemilik merek untuk mendaftarkan mereknya. Banyak pengusaha kecil dan menengah di Labuhanbatu belum memiliki merek sendiri, sehingga tidak jarang menggunakan merek pihak lain tanpa izin. Penggunaan merek tanpa izin merupakan pelanggaran. Untuk itu itu perlu dilakukan pendampingan pendaftaran merek bagi pengusaha kecil dan menengah di bidang Rumah makan di Kabupaten Labuhanbatu. Penggunaan merek sendiri akan menunjang pendapatan pelaku usaha kecil dan menengah. Hal itu didapat dari penggunaan merek yang aman dan bebas dari gugatan pihak lain yang sangat menyita waktu, tenaga dan uang. Atas dasar itu, pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode sosialisasi tentang fungsi pendaftaran merek dan manfaat sertifikat merek. Selain sosialisasi dilakukan juga pendampingan pengurusan sertifikat merek. Tujuannya agar para pengusaha kecil dan menengah memiliki kesadaran tentang pentingnya kepemilikan sertifikat merek

Abstract

Song lyrics in Android-based applications sometimes have repeated verses in each verse, therefore a compression application is needed so that they don't have a lot of lyrics. By applying the Even-Rodeh Code method, we can find out the performance of compressing song lyrics on Android, so that large song lyrics are compressed to a smaller size. This song lyrics application is an application that has a lot of text data. Because the song lyrics application stores various kinds of lyric texts from various existing songs, both regional songs, national songs, domestic and foreign songs. The factors that determine the algorithm selection are always used in data compression, namely (memory, PC speed), compression speed, compression result size, amount of redundancy and algorithm complexity. One of the known compression algorithms is the Even-Rodeh Code algorithm. The Even-Rodeh Code algorithm is a data compression algorithm that encodes characters based on the frequency of each character.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dampak pemberlakuan Pajak Pertambahan Nilai (PPN) sebesar 12% terhadap Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di Indonesia. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini menggali bagaimana UMKM beradaptasi terhadap kebijakan tersebut, serta peran teknologi digital dalam mendukung transformasi operasional UMKM. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan pelaku UMKM, praktisi pajak, dan pakar ekonomi, observasi langsung, serta studi dokumentasi terkait kebijakan perpajakan dan administrasi UMKM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan teknologi digital, seperti perangkat lunak akuntansi berbasis cloud dan sistem e-faktur, membantu UMKM dalam mencatat transaksi, menghitung PPN, dan melaporkan pajak secara lebih akurat dan efisien. Selain itu, teknologi digital juga meningkatkan kesadaran pajak melalui platform edukasi, serta mendukung pengelolaan arus kas dan perencanaan pembayaran pajak. Namun, penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi tantangan, seperti rendahnya literasi teknologi dan biaya implementasi yang tinggi, yang dapat menghambat adopsi teknologi oleh UMKM. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan dukungan dari pemerintah dalam bentuk pelatihan, subsidi, atau insentif untuk mendorong transformasi digital UMKM. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam memahami peran teknologi digital dalam mengatasi tantangan perpajakan bagi UMKM, khususnya dalam menghadapi regulasi PPN 12% di Indonesia. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the purchasing power of the community in the retail sector ahead of the Christmas and New Year (NATARU) celebrations in Rantauprapat City by examining the factors influencing purchasing power, including income, product quality, price, and business location. This research is a quantitative study with an explanatory research type, using a sample of 50 respondents who made purchases in the retail sector for NATARU celebrations. The partial results show that income, product quality, and business location have a positive and significant influence on purchasing power, while price has a negative and insignificant effect. Simultaneously, income, product quality, price, and business location have a positive and significant impact on purchasing power. The coefficient of determination value obtained is 78.2%, indicating that variations in purchasing power can be explained by income, product quality, price, and business location, while the remaining 21.8% is influenced by other factors not included in this research model. These findings indicate that increasing income, ensuring good product quality, and having a strategic business location can enhance purchasing power while maintaining competitive pricing to sustain consumer purchasing power.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the ability to repay credit of oil palm farmers at PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) in Air Joman District, Asahan Regency. This study applies a quantitative approach with an associative research method. oil palm farmers who have credit loans at PT. BRI (Persero) in Air Joman District, Asahan Regency using a research sample of 60 people. Data were obtained through observation, questionnaires, and literature studies. Furthermore, data from the questionnaire were analyzed using multiple linear regression methods. The results of the study obtained based on partial tests (t-tests) showed that each factor of living expenses, other loans, financial management, production costs and credit literacy had a positive and significant effect on the ability to repay credit of oil palm farmers at PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) in Air Joman District, Asahan Regency, based on simultaneous tests (F-tests) it was found that the factors of living expenses, other loans, financial management, production costs and credit literacy had a positive and significant effect on the ability to repay credit of oil palm farmers at PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) in Air Joman District, Asahan Regency.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide training to housewives in Gambir Baru Village, Kisaran Kota District, in processing coconut dregs into crackers and ginger candy. The methods applied in this activity include training in making crackers and ginger candy from coconut dregs, interviews with the community, and observations of environmental conditions and participants' readiness to participate in the training. The implementation of the activity includes several stages, namely location surveys, training implementation, and evaluation. The results of the training showed that participants experienced increased skills in processing coconut dregs into food products. In addition, this activity also opens up opportunities for the community to develop small businesses based on local raw materials. The evaluation carried out through product assessments and questionnaires showed that most participants understood the techniques for making crackers and ginger candy, although further assistance was still needed in terms of marketing and packaging so that the products were competitive in the market. With this training, it is hoped that the community can make optimal use of coconut dregs waste, reduce household waste, and create sustainable business opportunities. Advanced training on digital marketing and business management is recommended so that coconut pulp-based products can develop more widely and provide a greater economic impact for the local community

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), inflation, and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on income inequality in Indonesia from 2010 to 2024, using the Gini ratio as a measure and employing multiple linear regression analysis on secondary data from the Indonesian Bureau of Statistics and Bank Indonesia. The findings reveal that GDP has a negative and statistically significant effect on inequality (p = 0.0424), suggesting that economic growth tends to narrow income disparities, whereas inflation exerts a positive and significant influence (p = 0.0326), indicating that higher inflation exacerbates unequal income distribution. Conversely, FDI was found to have no statistically significant impact (p = 0.3910). Together, these variables explain approximately 41% of the variation in inequality, highlighting the importance of pursuing inclusive growth strategies, effective inflation management, and enhancing the impact of foreign investment on income distribution. The policy implications underscore the need for government efforts to promote inclusive development, maintain price stability, and redesign FDI policies to contribute more directly to job creation and strengthening productive sectors

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of supervision, professionalism, and team collaboration on employee performance at PT. Sarana Abdi Bahagia Medan. The sample consisted of 37 respondents. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that supervision, professionalism, and team collaboration simultaneously have a significant impact on employee performance. Individually, each variable also contributes to performance improvement. The adjusted R square value of 0.584 implies that 58.4% of the variability in employee performance can be explained by the three variables, while the remaining 41.6% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Therefore, it can be concluded that supervision, professionalism, and team collaboration play a substantial role in enhancing employee performance at PT. Sarana Abdi Bahagia Medan

Abstract

The community service program entitled “Stop Bullying and Communication Ethics” was implemented at MIS Islamiyah, Padang Sari Village, Tinggi Raja District, Asahan Regency. This activity aimed to raise awareness among elementary school students about the dangers of bullying and the importance of applying ethical communication in daily interactions. The program adopted a participatory, educational, and contextual approach tailored to the students' developmental stages and needs. Implementation methods included interactive counseling, communication training, case simulations, and self-reflection activities, all designed to be engaging and applicable. Evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in students’ understanding of bullying definitions, types, negative impacts, and their ability to communicate respectfully and act as change agents within the school environment. The program also contributed to character education by emphasizing affective learning that connects with students’ personal experiences. Teachers appreciated the initiative, recognizing its effectiveness in fostering moral values through consistent educational efforts. Thus, this program can be replicated in other schools as a meaningful contribution to creating a safe, child-friendly, and value-based learning environment.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the skills and entrepreneurial spirit of local residents, particularly housewives in Pondok Bungur Village, Rawang Panca Arga Subdistrict, Asahan Regency, through training on utilizing banana pseudo-stem (debog) waste into value-added chip products. The background of this program lies in the underutilization of household organic waste, which poses both environmental and economic challenges. The implementation method includes socialization, material delivery, hands-on training, and participatory evaluation using Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). The evaluation process applied two relevant approaches: participatory and reflective evaluation to gather feedback from participants, and problem-based evaluation to identify and solve technical barriers during the training. The results showed a significant improvement in participants' understanding, practical skills, and motivation to process banana pseudo-stem waste into economically valuable products. Moreover, some participants demonstrated an initiative to start small-scale businesses based on local resources. This activity proves that training on organic waste utilization can be a sustainable strategy for family economic empowerment.
