Abstract

This study examines the role of leadership initiatives and organizational strengthening in Nurul Jadid and Zainul Hasan Islamic Boarding Schools in increasing operational effectiveness and adaptation to changing times. The main focus of this research is to understand how pesantren leaders identify opportunities and challenges, as well as design innovative solutions to deal with social dynamics and educational needs. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design, which involves in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation analysis. Information sources were obtained from the head of the pesantren, management staff, and several members of the managerial team who were directly involved in the implementation of programs and policies. Data analysis techniques are carried out through data reduction, data display, and verification to obtain valid and relevant findings. The results of the study show that leadership initiatives, such as the application of technology in administration and inclusive-based education programs, contribute significantly to improving operational efficiency and collaboration between units in both Islamic boarding schools. Strengthening the organization through restructuring and regular training has also proven effective in increasing transparency and accountability. The implications of this study are the importance of proactive and collaborative leadership in creating organizations that are adaptive to change, as well as how pesantren can utilize technological innovations to improve operational performance without neglecting traditional values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of women's leadership in education in creating lifelong opportunities and shaping a success mindset. The research method used is a qualitative approach with case study techniques, where data is collected through in-depth interviews with a number of women leaders in educational institutions as well as field observations. The results show that women's leadership has a significant influence in improving the quality of education, shaping a collaborative and resilience-based mindset, and introducing more inclusive policies for students from various backgrounds. The study also found that while gender and social structural challenges still hinder women's participation in educational leadership, appropriate empowerment measures, such as leadership training and increased access to education, could open up greater opportunities for women to play a role in global education transformation. The implication of this study is the importance of designing education policies that support women's leadership as the key to creating a more equitable and sustainable education. This research also contributes to the development of a more inclusive and gender-equality-based educational leadership theory.

Abstract

This research focuses on the role of technology in detecting and supporting the recovery of victims of human trafficking. In a global context, human trafficking is a complex and hidden crime, which is often difficult for authorities to tackle. Technology, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and facial recognition, is increasingly relied upon to identify victims and improve response speed in the recovery process. This study uses a qualitative research design with a case study approach to explore how technology is applied by law enforcement agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The main data sources were obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation from various sources who were directly involved in efforts to utilize technology in combating human trafficking. The results show that technology, despite its challenges in terms of implementation and sustainability, has proven to be effective in raising public awareness, speeding up the detection process, and supporting victim recovery through the provision of safe and accessible services. The implications of this study show that the integration of technology can strengthen prevention and rehabilitation efforts in dealing with human trafficking, while empowering the community to play a more active role in reporting such incidents. With ever-evolving technological advancements, opportunities to eradicate human trafficking are increasingly open, providing hope for previously neglected victims.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore how the acculturation of Islam with local culture in Indonesia in social practices involving dissemination through local wisdom. This research focuses on how Islam and local values synergize in various aspects of social life, as well as how Islamic values that prioritize justice, deliberation, and harmony can enrich local traditions in creating peace and social harmony. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a phenomenological type, the results of the data are collected and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman approach and based on Islamic thinkers. The results of the research show that the acculturation of Islam and local culture creates a positive synthesis between religious teachings and local traditions. Islam, with principles such as tawhid (the unity of God) and maslahat (the common good), can synergize with local concepts that prioritize balance between humans, nature, and God. In addition, conflict resolution through customary deliberations involving Islamic principles such as syura (deliberation) shows greater effectiveness in creating social peace, as it is more acceptable and relevant to local social values. This finding is expected to provide an understanding of how Islam can enrich and strengthen local wisdom in building a more just, peaceful, and harmonious society.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the efforts to build inclusive education that is oriented towards the independence of students through a responsive adaptive curriculum. The research method used is qualitative with a case study type. Data analysis used in this study uses the Milles and Huberman model analysis, namely data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results of the study indicate that the strategy of Islamic boarding schools in realizing inclusive education that is oriented towards the independence of students in Islamic boarding schools utilizes a responsive adaptive curriculum whose main objective is to develop independence and inclusivity in the educational process at the Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo Islamic boarding school as follows; development of an adaptive curriculum, adaptation to the needs of students, authentic assessment for independence.

Abstract

This study examines the harmonization between customary law and Islamic law in managing the Lubuk Larangan tradition in the Tambangan District, Mandailing Natal community. The main focus of the study is to analyze the application of customary sanctions against violations of the Lubuk Larangan rules from the perspective of Islamic criminal law, to spread the harmony of this tradition with the values ​​of maqashid al-syariah, and to explore its contribution to creating harmony between customary norms and Islamic law. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design involving seven villages, namely Tambangan Tonga, Tambangan Jae, Rao-Rao Lombang, Rao-Rao Dolok, Tambangan Pasoman, Laru Lombang, and Lumban Pasir. Data were obtained through interviews with customary leaders (hatobangon), religious leaders, and village officials, as well as participatory observation of the implementation of the tradition. The study results indicate that the lubuk larangan tradition functions as a local mechanism in sustainable natural resource management and reflects the application of the principle of hifz al-bi'ah in maqashid al-syariah. Customary sanctions in the form of varying fines have been proven to align with the ta'zir principle in Islamic criminal law, which emphasizes the deterrent effect and restorative justice. This lubuk larangan tradition contributes to maintaining social harmony through combining local wisdom and Islamic values. It is an effective means of preserving the environment while strengthening the cultural identity of the local community.

Abstract

This research explores the evolving role of speaking etiquette in intercultural communication within the digital age. With the increasing shift from face-to-face communication to virtual platforms, traditional norms of communication etiquette are undergoing significant changes. The study addresses the challenge of adapting these norms, traditionally rooted in non-verbal cues and in-person interactions, to digital environments where communication is primarily text-based or mediated through video conferencing. Using a bibliometric approach, this research analyzes trends in the literature on speaking etiquette and intercultural communication, mapping the intersection of key concepts such as digital literacy, emotional intelligence, and cultural adaptation. The findings highlight a clear shift toward incorporating technological and emotional intelligence skills into traditional communication practices. Additionally, the research identifies a gap in the literature regarding the adaptation of speaking etiquette to digital platforms, suggesting that future research should explore these interactions in greater depth. The study's implications underscore the need for updated communication strategies that integrate digital competencies to improve intercultural interactions in an increasingly digital world. These insights provide a foundation for enhancing global communication practices, particularly in multicultural and virtual settings.

Abstract

The main focus of this study is to analyze the role of social media, especially Instagram and Facebook, in attracting the attention of parents and participants, as well as the program's effectiveness in creating an emotional attachment that encourages participants to continue their education to regular programs. The research method used is a qualitative approach with in-depth interview techniques involving the head of the pesantren and several program participants. The study results show that the optimal use of social media has increased the number of participants by up to 158 people compared to the previous year. In addition, the holiday cottage program has also proven to be effective in building participant satisfaction, which is reflected in more than 50 participants who expressed their satisfaction and desire to continue the program to a regular level. This program has also successfully introduced pesantren values in a more attractive and relevant way for the younger generation. The implications of these findings show that digital promotion strategies, which combine social media and participant testimonials, can increase the attractiveness of pesantren as a modern educational option but still based on religious values. The study also suggests the importance of integrating religious learning and developing social and leadership skills to respond to the demands of modern education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation strategy of gamification in Islamic boarding school education as an innovative effort to increase students' learning motivation at the Al-Qodiri 02 Islamic Boarding School. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data is collected through non-participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data validation process was carried out through focus group discussions (FGD) involving several online and offline participants. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of gamification elements, such as the point system, levels, badges, and leaderboards, increased the involvement and motivation of students in the learning process. In addition, the gamification integration strategy, which involved the leadership of the boarding school as the main driver, succeeded in creating a more dynamic and engaging learning atmosphere. This study provides important implications on how gamification can be integrated with the Islamic boarding school education approach to support learning relevant to technological developments and improve the overall quality of learning.

Abstract

This study explores the combined influence of the technical skills of madrasah heads and non-financial compensation on the performance of teachers in private Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) schools in Probolinggo Regency, Indonesia. While previous research has examined these factors independently, little attention has been given to their simultaneous impact in the context of Islamic primary education. This research aims to fill that gap by investigating how leadership skills, including educational management abilities, and non-financial incentives, such as career development and recognition, contribute to teacher performance. A quantitative research design with descriptive correlational analysis was used, collecting data from 363 teachers through structured questionnaires. Statistical methods, including Spearman Rank Correlation, revealed strong positive correlations between both technical skills and non-financial compensation with teacher performance. Furthermore, the combined effect of these two factors was found to have a nearly perfect influence on teacher performance. The findings underscore the importance of integrating effective leadership with non-financial incentives to enhance teacher outcomes. This study provides valuable insights for educational leaders and policymakers aiming to improve teacher motivation and performance in Islamic primary schools. The results also suggest directions for future research, including exploring the long-term effects of leadership development and non-financial rewards on teaching quality.
