Journal Of Software Engineering And Communication(JSEC) is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year (April and October) by the Vocational Program of the State University of Gorontalo. Abstract

Pemilihan siswa berprestasi merupakan proses penting dalam lembaga pendidikan untuk mengidentifikasi peserta didik dengan capaian unggul pada aspek akademik maupun non-akademik. Namun, proses seleksi yang masih dilakukan secara manual sering menimbulkan subjektivitas, inkonsistensi, dan kesalahan perhitungan. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode Simple Moving Average (SMA) pada Sistem Pendukung Keputusan (SPK) untuk meningkatkan objektivitas, akurasi, dan konsistensi dalam proses penilaian siswa berprestasi. Metode SMA digunakan untuk menghitung nilai rata-rata bergerak dari tiga periode penilaian pada setiap kriteria, yaitu Prestasi Akademik, Prestasi Non-Akademik, Sikap dan Perilaku, serta Kedisiplinan. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan ADOPT yang meliputi tahapan Analysis, Design, Optimization, Prototyping, dan Testing untuk membangun sistem SPK berbasis SMA. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa SMA mampu mereduksi fluktuasi nilai antarperiode sehingga menghasilkan nilai representatif yang stabil dan objektif. Dari pengolahan data 10 siswa, diperoleh bahwa siswa S6 memiliki nilai akhir tertinggi dengan skor 55,57 sehingga ditetapkan sebagai siswa berprestasi terbaik. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi metode SMA dalam SPK berbasis sistem terkomputerisasi mampu meningkatkan kualitas pengambilan keputusan secara objektif dan konsisten, serta memberikan manfaat praktis bagi pihak sekolah dalam mempercepat proses seleksi, meminimalkan potensi bias penilaian, dan menyediakan dasar keputusan yang transparan serta dapat direplikasi sebagai standar evaluasi siswa berprestasi berbasis data historis.

Abstract

The development of information technology is driving digital transformation in the trade sector, particularly in the marketplace business model. Danzu , as an online sales-based business unit, faces challenges in providing effective, efficient, and user-friendly services to customers. This study aims to design and implement a Danzu  marketplace information system that focuses on User Experience and needs (user-oriented system). The system development method used is the Waterfall method, which consists of the stages of needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and Maintenance. In the analysis stage, functional and non-functional needs are identified from the user's perspective, such as registration and login features, product search, shopping cart, checkout process, payment confirmation, order tracking, and user profile management. The system design was carried out using the Unified Modeling Language (UML) which includes use case diagrams, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams to model the interaction between users and the system. The system implementation was carried out using web-based technology with a programming language that supports dynamic application development and a database for managing product, transaction, and user data. The resulting system is able to facilitate users in conducting online transactions, increase the speed of access to product information, and provide a more structured and transparent shopping experience. Test results show that the Danzu  marketplace system runs according to user needs, has a responsive interface, and is able to increase the efficiency of the transaction process compared to the previous system which was still manual or semi-digital. Thus, this system is expected to support increased customer satisfaction and the competitiveness of the Danzu  business in the digital era.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan teknologi informasi telah menekan transformasi digital lewat pemanfaatan sistem basis data guna menaikkan efisiensi pengolahan data organisasi. Organisasi Mahasiswa Pencinta Alam( MAPALA) di Provinsi Gorontalo berfungsi krusial dalam eksplorasi wisata alam, tetapi ketersediaan portal data yang terintegrasi masih terbatas. Riset ini bertujuan guna merancang sistem informasi keanggotaan serta portal aktivitas MAPALA se-Provinsi Gorontalo berbasis website. Prosedur riset yang digunakan yakni Research and Development (R&D) dengan tahapan riset literatur, identifikasi permasalahan, perancangan, pengujian, sampai implementasi. Aplikasi dibentuk memakai bahasa pemrograman PHP, Java, serta basis data MySql, dan menggunakan metode web service guna mengambil data dari server. Hasil implementasi menampilkan jika sistem ini bisa menunjang pengelolaan informasi keanggotaan lintas organisasi serta berperan sebagai media promosi wisata alam untuk publik luas. Pengujian sistem dengan prosedur Black Box Testing guna menentukan segala peranan fitur berjalan sesuai kebutuhan pengguna.

Abstract

The management of barbershop businesses that still relies on conventional methods creates various challenges, particularly in customer booking records, transaction management, and financial reporting. The use of conventional recording media may result in poorly organized data, vulnerability to loss or damage, and difficulties in information retrieval and processing. In addition, unstructured financial management can hinder business owners' ability to monitor cash flow, thereby affecting the effectiveness of business decision-making.To address the challenges of digitalization, this study designed and developed a web-based Barbershop Management Application as an integrated solution that combines customer data management, service booking scheduling, payment transaction recording, and automated financial reporting within a centralized platform. The system architecture was developed using the Waterfall method through the stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, functional system evaluation, and maintenance. The application was developed as a web-based system to ensure accessibility across various internet-connected devices.The testing results showed that Black Box Testing achieved a 100% success rate, while the User Acceptance Test (UAT) obtained a user acceptance score of 89%, indicating that the application is easy to use and that its functionality meets user needs. Therefore, the application is considered feasible for implementation to support more modern, structured, and efficient barbershop management.

Abstract

The spatial distribution of public facilities in Gorontalo City which experiences 1.67% annual population growth but faces uneven distribution of health, education, and trade facilities. The study aims to identify priority development areas using Geographic Information Systems with buffer zone analysis and facility gap index. Methods include collecting secondary data from BPS and related agencies, spatial processing using ArcGIS 10.8, and developing webGIS based on Leaflet.js and PHP MySQL. Results show 42% of the area is outside optimal reach of health facilities with South City and North City sub-districts having the highest gap indices (0.78 and 0.71), and 12 villages identified as priority areas. The developed webGIS system enables interactive visualization and spatial queries to support planning decision-making. The conclusion confirms that the GIS approach effectively identifies imbalances and serves as a strategic tool for local governments in planning equitable infrastructure.

Abstract

The Ar-Rahman Mosque which is located near South Huntu village, in South Bulango district, and operates like a regular mosque. The mosque is a place that functions to carry out prayers for Muslims. The community carries out many activities at the Ar-Rahman Lamahu Mosque, including sacrificial activities. Every year when sacrificial activities are carried out, savings records are still done manually using physical books which look non-transparent and untidy. After solving this problem, the author began to build a web-based financial records (savings) application for qurban activities. This application was built using the Laravel Framework and support MySQL basisdata. The design of this system runs well and helps in processing data and preparing member financial (savings) reports.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology demands news media to provide online platforms that are not only content-rich but also optimal and easily accessible across various responsive devices. This research discusses and implements a tested tri-combination of open-source technologies to build a Professional and Responsive News Portal. The PHP programming language is used as the core logic (server-side) to handle data processing, authentication, and Content Management System (CMS) mechanisms. MySQL is implemented as the fundamental data management system to ensure the efficiency of storage, retrieval, and management of structured and massive news data. Meanwhile, the Bootstrap Framework is comprehensively applied to the frontend side to create a modern, intuitive, and automatically responsive User Interface across platforms (including desktops, tablets, and smartphones). The development method used is Agile Development, which emphasizes flexibility, collaboration, and iterative development to ensure the system adapts quickly to changing user needs. The result of this implementation is a news portal that features fast performance, adaptive layout, and a user-friendly CMS, enabling information accessibility and competitiveness in the digital media landscape.

Abstract

The existing system has not integrated interactive features such as rating and review mechanisms. Without these features, library managers have difficulty evaluating the quality or relevance of collections from a user perspective. The purpose of this research focuses on developing a digital library website that allows users to search for books, read digital content, and provide ratings and reviews. The system was developed using the Waterfall method and implemented with PHP and MySQL. The results of the study indicate that the system can improve the efficiency of book data management and facilitate user access to digital library services. [Reviewer13.1] Blackbox testing of the system was conducted to ensure that all modules run according to the requirements specifications. Based on testing of the main features (including search, upload, and rating), the application was found to be faster in data processing and error

Abstract

The advancement of information technology has driven digital transformation across various business sectors, including PlayStation rental businesses, which generally still rely on manual reservation systems. This condition leads to several operational issues, such as uncertainty in unit availability, poorly organized customer queues, and limited information regarding the duration of use by other customers. In addition, the reservation process, which still depends on direct communication or social media, often results in delayed responses and miscommunication between customers and business owners. These challenges ultimately reduce service quality and time efficiency for both parties. This study aims to implement a real-time PlayStation rental information system capable of providing accurate and transparent information on unit status and estimated usage time. The methods employed include requirement analysis through user interviews, system design using a structured approach, and the development of an application prototype tailored to user needs. The developed system is equipped with key features such as unit status indicators (available, in use, and waiting), real-time remaining usage time estimation, and integrated management of transaction and customer data within the system. The implementation results indicate that the system improves service efficiency by delivering faster and more accurate information to customers. Furthermore, it reduces uncertainty in the reservation process, minimizes disorganized queues, and assists business owners in managing operations more effectively and systematically. Therefore, the developed information system serves as an effective and relevant solution for enhancing service quality and competitiveness in PlayStation rental businesses in the digital era.
