Abstract

This article aims to introduce and implement a Web-Based Information System at SMK Bina Sriwijaya, Palembang. Through socialization and training activities, participants from various backgrounds, including teachers, students, operators, administrators, school principals, and parents, were invited to understand and use this system. The implementation method of the activities includes preparation, execution, and evaluation stages. The results showed that participants demonstrated enthusiasm in understanding and using this system. With the presence of a web-based information system, it is expected that the effectiveness and efficiency of academic and administrative data management in schools can be improved, providing faster and more accurate information, and minimizing possible errors. In conclusion, this activity successfully introduced and implemented a Web-Based Information System at SMK Bina Sriwijaya, which is expected to make a positive contribution to the management of academic and administrative data in the school.

Abstract

Admission of New Students (PPDB) is an annual routine activity that has a crucial role in determining a school's success in attracting prospective students. Bina Jaya Palembang Vocational School faces challenges in the PPDB process which has been carried out manually, resulting in limitations in time efficiency, data accuracy and information coverage. To overcome this problem, training activities were carried out on implementing the website as an innovative solution to support the PPDB process. This activity aims to introduce and train schools in the use of a website platform specifically developed to simplify the PPDB process. This socialization includes conveying the benefits of using the website, training in technical operations, inputting prospective student data, as well as managing information related to admissions. The training method is carried out through presentation approaches, live demonstrations, and practical sessions by participants. The results of the socialization activities showed an increase in participants' understanding and skills in using the PPDB website. Apart from that, the implementation of this website is expected to increase the efficiency of the new student admission process, expand access to information for prospective students and parents, and create a more transparent and accountable system. The success of this socialization is the first step in digital transformation at SMK Bina Jaya Palembang to face the era of information technology that continues to develop

Abstract

Advances in digital technology require educators to adapt and utilize application-based tools to support the learning process and school administration. However, not all teachers have adequate information technology competency, especially in operating applications that can improve work efficiency. This community service activity aims to improve teachers' information technology competency through training in the use of the GAMMA Application as a medium for data management and school administration. The implementation method includes socialization, demonstrations of application use, hands-on practice, and intensive mentoring for teachers. The results of the activity show an increase in teachers' understanding and skills in operating the main features of the GAMMA Application, such as data management, reporting, and monitoring educational activities. In addition, this activity encourages the creation of a more effective, accurate, and digital-based work culture in the school environment. Thus, training in the use of the GAMMA Application makes a real contribution to strengthening teachers' information technology competency and supporting digital transformation in the world of education.

Abstract

Alumni merupakan salah satu elemen penting dalam mendukung kemajuan dan evaluasi kualitas pendidikan di sekolah. Namun, pengelolaan data alumni di SMK Negeri 1 Pemulutan masih dilakukan secara manual, sehingga menyulitkan proses pelacakan jejak lulusan (tracer study) yang sangat dibutuhkan untuk keperluan evaluasi, akreditasi, dan pengembangan kurikulum. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan sistem informasi alumni berbasis web yang dilengkapi dengan fitur tracer study guna mempermudah pihak sekolah dalam mengelola dan memantau keberadaan serta aktivitas alumni. Metode pengembangan sistem yang digunakan adalah metode Waterfall, yang terdiri dari tahapan analisis kebutuhan, desain sistem, implementasi, pengujian, dan pemeliharaan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Sistem dikembangkan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP, framework Laravel, dan database MySQL. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah sistem informasi alumni berbasis web yang dapat digunakan oleh alumni untuk mengisi data tracer study dan memperbarui profil, serta oleh pihak sekolah untuk mengelola data alumni, melihat laporan tracer study, dan mencetak laporan. Dengan adanya sistem ini, proses pelacakan alumni menjadi lebih efisien, data lebih akurat, dan hubungan antara alumni dan sekolah dapat terjaga dengan lebih baik.
