Abstract

The principal challenges faced by the micro, small, and medium enterprises supported by the National Amil Zakat Agency of Cilacap Regency are inconsistent visual-content quality, the absence of a simple workflow, and weak security and copyright-compliance practices, which together lead to unstable performance across digital channels. The community service set out to design and evaluate an intensive, practice-based training that standardizes the production of product photographs, short vertical videos, and promotional captions, while also instilling account governance and publishing routines. The method used a two-day field-action design with target outputs per participant of one set of photographs, one video, and three promotional captions; output quality was assessed with a five-point rubric. The findings indicate that the output reached the “publishable” category, with mean scores near the midpoint of the scale. It is concluded that a simple, standardized training model can stabilize content quality and encourage early improvements in digital-channel performance; extending the monitoring period and improving link tagging are recommended to demonstrate more convincingly the connection between platform activity and transactions.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the effectiveness of ministry and the growth of the diaspora congregation of the Toraja Church in Kuala Lumpur through capacity building in Christian Religious Education, Family Education, and Entrepreneurial Spirit Development. The program was conducted by five lecturers and one student from four study programs at Universitas Kristen Indonesia (UKI), in collaboration with the Toraja Church in Kuala Lumpur. Based on informal consultations, the congregation expressed a need for training in church ministry, family education, child protection, and entrepreneurial mindset development. The capacity-building activities were delivered through interactive seminars. These activities emphasized strengthening theological understanding of ministry and family, enhancing family communication skills, and introducing practical entrepreneurial principles relevant to the diaspora context. The outcomes of the training indicated increased knowledge, greater confidence in implementing church ministry and family education practices, and heightened motivation to initiate small-scale entrepreneurial efforts. This program demonstrates that an integrative capacity-building model is effective in supporting the holistic growth of diaspora congregations.

Abstract

The Academic Ability Test (TKA) is an essential instrument used in university admission processes, measuring students’ reasoning, numerical literacy, verbal comprehension, and conceptual mastery. However, many senior high school students in Malang City face significant difficulties in understanding reasoning-based question patterns, indicating the need for structured and intensive training. This community service activity aims to improve students’ abilities in solving TKA questions by emphasizing concept mastery and higher-order reasoning. The training included material explanation, guided problem-solving, practice exercises, simulations, and evaluations through pre-tests and post-tests. Results showed significant improvements, with a 28% increase in conceptual understanding, a 34% increase in reasoning skills, and 82% of participants reporting that the training helped them better understand TKA question patterns.

Abstract

Limited civic literacy capacity and weak village community governance remain significant challenges to strengthening community participation in various rural areas of Indonesia. This situation was also found in Duko Village , Arjasa District , Sumenep Regency , which is characterized by low understanding among officials and the community regarding digital literacy, village profile documentation, and participatory governance practices. This community service activity aims to increase civic literacy capacity and strengthen community governance through structured and collaborative mentoring. The implementation method uses a participatory action approach, including needs assessment , citizenship and digital literacy training, assistance in preparing village profiles, and facilitating improvements to community governance mechanisms. The results of the community service show a significant increase in the community's ability to compile and update village profiles, an increased understanding of substantive citizenship values, and the formation of more focused coordination and accountability practices within village organizations. The implications of this activity confirm that a mentoring model based on participation, literacy, and cross-stakeholder collaboration can be an effective strategy in strengthening community capacity and supporting sustainable village development.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of financial technology has provided broader access to digital investment platforms, yet it has simultaneously increased the prevalence of fraudulent schemes such as scams, money games, binary options, and illegal robot trading. These practices have significantly impacted communities in Indonesia, including rural areas with limited financial literacy. Sanankerto Village, Malang Regency recognized as a tourism village with active MSMEs and community-based economic activities faces growing exposure to deceptive investment offers delivered through social media and digital channels. This community service program aims to enhance financial literacy and strengthen residents’ capacity to identify, verify, and avoid illegal investment schemes. Employing a Participatory Action Education approach, the program consists of five stages: needs assessment, educational workshops, hands-on training on legality verification using OJK, Bappebti, and SWI platforms, fraud-identification simulations, and evaluation through pre- and post-test assessments. Findings reveal a substantial increase in participants’ understanding of legal investment principles, the ability to independently check institutional licenses, and heightened vigilance toward digital fraud. The program also produced sustainable outputs, including trained village financial literacy volunteers, educational modules, and anti-fraud posters. Overall, this initiative contributes to improving the financial resilience of Sanankerto Village and preventing economic losses associated with illegal investment practices

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted in Pandanrejo village, Batu, one of the centers for strawberry cultivation in West Java. The main problems faced by local farmers include low productivity, inconsistent fruit quality, and limited knowledge in applying efficient and environmentally friendly cultivation technologies. The objective of this activity was to enhance the productivity and quality of strawberries through technical assistance, training, and the application of appropriate cultivation technologies that are easy for the community to implement. The methods included field observations, initial interviews to identify farmers' needs, training on strawberry cultivation based on simple technology (organic mulching, use of biological agents, and drip irrigation systems), and intensive guidance from planting to harvest. Evaluation involved measuring plant productivity, fruit quality (size, color, and total soluble solids content), and farmers responses and adoption levels of the technology. The results demonstrated an average productivity increase of 25% and improved fruit uniformity in terms of size and soluble solids content. Furthermore, farmers gained better understanding of the importance of applying appropriate technologies to maintain input efficiency and environmental sustainability. This activity is expected to serve as a model for similar horticultural commodity empowerment programs in other regions and to strengthen farmers independence in managing strawberry agribusiness based on innovative and sustainable technology.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance students’ academic literacy and scientific writing skills through the ethical and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Google Scholar. The activity involved 30 students from various study programs in a single implementation. The challenges faced by students include limited ability to identify reputable scholarly sources, organize scientific manuscripts systematically, and maintain originality and academic integrity. The program employed training, mentoring, and hands-on practice, focusing on effective literature search strategies using Google Scholar, the use of AI as a supportive tool in academic writing, and the application of proper citation and paraphrasing in accordance with scholarly standards. The activities were conducted through material presentations, interactive discussions, and evaluation of participants’ scientific writing outputs. The results indicate improvements in students’ ability to access relevant academic sources, develop well-structured manuscripts, and enhance awareness of academic ethics and integrity. Therefore, this program contributes to strengthening a high-quality academic culture that is adaptive to technological advancements in higher education.
