Abstract

The number of Umrah pilgrims in Indonesia has increased significantly in recent years, in line with the Saudi Arabian government's reopening of Umrah pilgrims from outside Arabia after a two-year ban in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19. This increase is influenced by factors such as stable economic growth, improvements in facilities and services, and innovations in access and communication technology that make it easier to plan Umrah trips online. The Indonesian government's support for implementing the Umrah pilgrimage is also essential. This has led to a significant increase in the number of Umrah pilgrims in Indonesia, as reported in the 1445 H December 2023 season. PT Ambassador Tour and Travel also recorded increased Umrah pilgrims, standing out with its commitment to service quality. The service quality factor is the primary consideration for prospective pilgrims when choosing a travel agent, and maintaining customer satisfaction and ensuring repeat purchases are the keys to business success in a competitive industry. Further research is planned to explore the influence of service quality on repeat purchases at PT Ambassador Tour and Travel. This research applies a quantitative survey approach with an associative approach, which involves surveying PT Ambassador tours and travel Umrah pilgrims. In its implementation, this survey method presents a structured questionnaire to respondents. The sampling technique in this research used a non-probability sampling technique with a purposive sampling technique with a total of 145 respondents. The data analysis technique used is Statistical Program for Social Science (SPSS) version 23. With the expected results, service quality and repeat purchases will have a positive and significant influence; apart from that, this research can contribute to further study

Abstract

Every human being has the same right to education, including children with intellectual disabilities. The abilities of these children can be explored and optimized through simple academic learning, such as reading, writing, and arithmetic. Therefore, children with intellectual disabilities should be provided with stimulation that can aid in their development and productivity, such as interactive books. Previous research has shown that interactive books are effective for typically developing children, and it is hoped that this learning medium can also be applied to children with intellectual disabilities. The research method used in this study is the design thinking method, with a particular focus on the empathize stage. Through a combination of observation, in-depth interviews, and questionnaires, this research aims to provide comprehensive insights into the learning needs of children with intellectual disabilities at SLB C Terate Bandung. The results of this study are expected to make a significant contribution to the development of more effective and suitable teaching methods and media for students with special needs. The findings indicate that interactive books are highly effective for the education of children with intellectual disabilities, with some adjustments needed in design and approach to meet their sensory and cognitive needs.

Abstract

This research discusses sentiment analysis of Shopee users towards the Cash on Delivery (COD) feature using the Naive Bayes Classifier method. COD is one of Shopee's most frequently used services but often generates pros and cons among users. The research data was obtained from a dataset of Shopee user reviews downloaded from Kaggle. The research stages include data collection, data preprocessing (cleaning, normalization, stopword removal, and sentiment labeling), application of the Naive Bayes algorithm, and visualization of the results using Power BI. The findings indicate that the Naive Bayes algorithm can classify sentiments with a good level of accuracy, while Power BI visualization helps to better understand the distribution and patterns of user sentiments. This research is expected to provide insights for Shopee in improving the quality of its COD service based on user perceptions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of disciplinary regulations on students’ self-regulation in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). Self-regulation is an essential ability that enables students to manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in achieving learning goals, particularly within structured educational environments such as pesantren. This study employed a quantitative correlational design using simple linear regression analysis. The participants consisted of 252 male and female students from several pesantren in Gunung Pati District, Semarang, selected through proportional sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable scales of disciplinary regulations and self-regulation.The results of the simple linear regression analysis indicated that disciplinary regulations did not have a significant effect on students’ self-regulation (β = 0.203; t = 1.60; p > 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.022) showed that disciplinary regulations accounted for only 2.2% of the variance in students’ self-regulation, indicating a small effect size. These findings suggest that students’ self-regulation is not solely shaped by external discipline, but is more strongly influenced by internal factors such as intrinsic motivation, personal awareness, religious values, and social support. The study highlights the importance of integrating personal and spiritual development approaches alongside formal disciplinary systems in fostering students’ self-regulation within pesantren settings.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of assertive speech acts used by the Bajo Parumaan and Tana Ai tribes in buying and selling interactions at Nangahale Market. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a pragmatic approach. The data consist of utterances produced by sellers and buyers, collected through observation, participant observation, recording, and note-taking techniques. The collected data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that assertive speech acts are highly dominant in trading interactions at Nangahale Market. The forms of assertive speech acts identified include informing, suggesting, boasting, complaining, and refusing. Informing is the most frequently used assertive speech act, particularly in conveying information about prices, types, and conditions of goods. Suggesting and boasting are commonly used by sellers as persuasive strategies to attract buyers, while complaining and refusing are more often expressed by buyers as responses to prices or product quality. These findings indicate that assertive speech acts play an important role in shaping communication dynamics and negotiation processes in traditional market transactions
