Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the implementation of Character Education and school environment support on inclusivity and ethical behavior among junior and Senior High School students in DKI Jakarta province. The research method used is quantitative with multiple linear regression approach. The sample consisted of middle and high school students who were randomly selected. The results of the validity and reliability test show that the research instrument is valid and reliable. The results of regression analysis showed that the implementation of Character Education and school environment support had a positive and significant effect on inclusiveness and ethical behavior, with character education having a stronger influence. The R2 test of 0.659 indicates that 65.9% of the variation in inclusiveness and ethical behavior can be explained by both independent variables, while the rest is influenced by other factors. In addition, the results of the F test prove that the regression model used is significant in explaining the relationship between variables. These findings underscore the importance of strong character education and a conducive school environment in shaping an inclusive and ethical generation. Therefore, educational institutions are expected to continue to strengthen character education programs and create a learning environment that supports the development of inclusivity and ethical values.

Abstract

Urban culture reflects the complex dynamics that occur in urban areas due to the interaction between traditional values, modernity, globalization, and technology. This study aims to analyze urban culture through a humanities approach, focusing on the transformation of traditional values, the influence of technology and digital media, and the construction of cultural identity in diverse urban communities. This study uses a literature study method, examining various theories and relevant empirical findings to understand the relationship between social change and cultural development in big cities. The results of the study show that urban communities face challenges in maintaining traditions amidst modern lifestyles that tend to be individualistic. Technology, on the one hand, supports the preservation of culture through digital media, but on the other hand has the potential to create social alienation and cultural commodification. In addition, changes in urban spatial planning such as the development of business areas and the reduction of community space affect the pattern of social interaction in society. However, the diversity of urban communities and their ability to adapt allows the creation of new hybrid cultural forms, combining traditional and modern elements. This study emphasizes the importance of a humanities approach in understanding urban culture to support the development of inclusive, sustainable policies based on the preservation of local values, so that urban cultural identity can continue to develop without losing its authenticity.

Abstract

This research aims to empirically examine the influence of character education on student discipline and leadership at the higher education level. The study identifies the causal relationship between the implementation of character education values instilled through academic and extracurricular activities and students' behavior in terms of discipline, as well as their ability to demonstrate effective leadership. The results suggest that character education, encompassing values such as responsibility, honesty, and cooperation, significantly impacts students' adherence to rules, punctuality, and leadership skills. By focusing on the development of both personal and social values, character education plays a crucial role in shaping students not only as academically capable individuals but also as morally responsible and effective leaders. Despite the widespread implementation of character education programs in higher education, the study highlights the need for more consistent and integrated application to ensure its effective impact on students' overall behavior. This research provides valuable insights for educational institutions to refine their character development strategies to better align with the demands of the contemporary world.

Abstract

This research explores the implementation of humanities-based philosophy of education in the context of modern educational challenges. The study aims to examine how humanistic values, such as empathy, ethics, critical thinking, and social responsibility, can be integrated into the curriculum and teaching practices to foster holistic student development. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, the research involves in-depth interviews with educators, students, and experts, as well as document analysis of curricula and educational programs. The findings reveal that institutions applying humanistic principles in their educational framework show significant positive impacts on student character development, including enhanced empathy, social cooperation, and emotional growth. However, challenges such as limited teacher training, lack of resources, and the prevailing focus on academic and technical skills hinder the full integration of these values. The study concludes by recommending a more balanced curriculum that prioritizes humanistic education, alongside policy reforms and teacher development initiatives, to better address the evolving needs of students and society.

Abstract

Early childhood character development is a crucial aspect of their personality growth. This study aims to analyze the role of parents in shaping children's character at RA Tgk Di Panteue, Pidie Jaya Regency. The research employs a qualitative approach with observations, interviews, and questionnaires to collect data from parents of students. The findings indicate that parents play a significant role in character formation through positive role modeling, the application of moral and religious values, and the creation of a safe and loving environment. They teach values such as honesty, responsibility, empathy, and mutual respect through daily activities such as performing religious rituals together, speaking politely, and maintaining cleanliness. Based on questionnaire analysis, the level of parental participation in character development reached 82.9%, demonstrating active involvement in the process. However, several challenges hinder character development, including inconsistency in implementing values at home and school, as well as differences in parenting methods within families. Additionally, social environmental influences pose a challenge in maintaining the values taught. Despite these challenges, parents continue to provide the best guidance to ensure that children grow with strong and confident character. This study emphasizes that active parental involvement is essential in establishing a solid foundation for children's character development from an early age.

Abstract

The development of the metaverse as an immersive virtual space has changed the pattern of human communication by presenting multimodal interactions involving verbal, non-verbal, and digital environmental aspects, this study aims to analyze the emotional landscape in virtual communication in the metaverse through a multimodal approach with the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method based on the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. From the results of the review of 25 selected articles, it was found that non-verbal avatar expressions, such as gestures and digital facial expressions, have a dominant contribution to the perception of emotions, while verbal communication plays a limited role and the virtual environment functions as a modulator of emotional experience, the integration of these three modalities results in more authentic emotional experiences, increases empathy, and strengthens social involvement in digital interactions.  This research provides practical implications for more realistic avatar design, the development of interactive virtual environments, and the application of multimodal approaches to improve the quality of communication and psychological well-being of users in the metaverse.
