Abstract

Aim: This study investigates the impact of governance quality and internet penetration on financial inclusion in Kenya, emphasizing the mediating roles of perceived trust in digital financial services and digital literacy, and the moderating role of social capital. The research aims to develop a comprehensive framework that integrates institutional, technological, and behavioral dimensions influencing digital financial inclusion across urban and rural contexts.Methodology: A quantitative research design was employed using data collected from 195 respondents across Kenya’s urban and rural regions. Validated measurement scales were adopted from previous studies, and data were analyzed using ADANCO 2.3 for composite-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The analysis assessed reliability, validity, and structural relationships among constructs through path analysis and bootstrapping procedures.Findings: The results confirmed that both governance quality and internet penetration significantly enhance financial inclusion. Perceived trust and digital literacy mediate these relationships, while social capital moderates the effects of trust and literacy on inclusion. The model demonstrated strong reliability, validity, and explanatory power, with R² values exceeding 0.80.Implications/Novel Contribution: This study extends financial inclusion theory by integrating governance, technology, and social capital perspectives. It offers practical insights for policymakers to promote inclusive finance through governance reforms, digital literacy initiatives, and community-based trust-building strategies.

Abstract

Aim: The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of hybrid work flexibility on team performance, with work life balance as a mediating variable and digital communication as a moderating variable. The research aimed to provide empirical evidence on how structural flexibility, psychological balance, and technological communication collectively influence team outcomes in hybrid work environments.Methodology: A quantitative, cross-sectional design was employed, and data were collected from 275 employees working in hybrid settings across various organizations in Spain. Standardized scales were adopted from previous research to measure hybrid work flexibility, work life balance, digital communication, and team performance. Data were analyzed using ADANCO 2.3, which facilitated the assessment of measurement and structural models through structural equation modeling.Findings: The results indicated that hybrid work flexibility significantly enhances team performance both directly and indirectly through the mediating role of work life balance. Furthermore, digital communication was found to significantly moderate the relationship between work life balance and team performance, strengthening the positive association between them.Implications/Novel Contribution: This study integrates Self-Determination Theory, Conservation of Resources Theory, and Media Richness Theory to develop a holistic model explaining team performance in hybrid contexts. The findings offer both theoretical advancement and practical guidance for organizations designing flexible, balanced, and digitally supported hybrid work systems.

Abstract

Aim: This study investigates how digital technology capability contributes to inclusive development outcomes through the mediating role of digital resilience, while examining the moderating influence of institutional support. It aims to provide a deeper understanding of how technology-driven transformation can be translated into equitable societal progress in emerging digital economies.Methodology: A quantitative, cross-sectional, and explanatory research design was employed. Data were collected from 215 professionals representing digital startups, SMEs, local government digital programs, and community innovation organizations across Indonesia using a structured five-point Likert scale questionnaire. Stratified random sampling ensured representation across urban, semi-urban, and rural regions. The proposed moderated mediation model was tested using ADANCO 2.3 with PLS-SEM techniques.Findings: Results confirm that digital technology capability has a direct and significant effect on both digital resilience and inclusive development outcomes. Digital resilience was found to mediate this relationship, demonstrating its central role in translating capability into societal impact. Institutional support significantly strengthened the effect of technological capability on resilience and enhanced the indirect impact on inclusive development.Implications/Novel Contribution: This study uniquely integrates digital capability, resilience, and institutional governance into a unified framework, offering policymakers and digital strategists a strategic pathway for designing resilience-centered, institution-driven digital transformation for inclusive national development.

Abstract

Aim: This study investigates the impact of smart governance on policy innovation and public service performance in Brazil, while examining the mediating role of digital citizen participation and the moderating effects of digital trust and technological readiness. It aims to explain how digital governance mechanisms translate into meaningful public sector outcomes in a rapidly developing digital ecosystem.Methodology: A quantitative, cross-sectional research design was employed, and data were collected from 275 government officials and digitally active citizens from Brasília, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro using a structured questionnaire. Stratified random sampling was used to ensure regional representation. The data were analyzed using SmartPLS to test direct, mediating, and moderating relationships.Findings: The results revealed that smart governance significantly enhances both policy innovation and public service performance. Digital citizen participation was confirmed as a strong mediator, while digital trust and technological readiness significantly strengthened the impact of smart governance and digital participation on outcomes.Originality/Implications: This study advances digital governance theory by integrating psychological and infrastructural enablers into a unified model. It offers practical guidance for policymakers by demonstrating that effective digital transformation requires not only smart governance systems but also citizen trust, active participation, and technological preparedness.
