Abstract

This study aims to examine the halal ecosystem and the reasons consumers choose sharia-labeled hotels in Yogyakarta. The halal industry has become a global trend, affecting various products that previously did not require halal labeling, such as sharia/halal hotels and others. This research employs a qualitative method with a field research approach, utilizing interviews and observations of sharia hotel consumers in Yogyakarta. The theoretical framework used is Peter L. Berger's social construction theory. The results indicate that halal culture has become a global trend and influences consumer decisions in choosing products or services, including sharia-labeled hotels in Yogyakarta. The increase in the number of sharia-labeled hotels in Yogyakarta is influenced by the growing awareness of halal (sharia) labeling among Indonesians. Additionally, Yogyakarta's reputation as a tourist and educational city necessitates the presence of sharia-labeled hotels to accommodate Muslim tourists. Several reasons consumers choose sharia hotels include proximity and more affordable prices. However, consumers' understanding of the religious importance of halal is a primary factor influencing their decision to choose sharia-labeled hotels over non-sharia-labeled ones. Muslim consumers' awareness of the significance of halal and their sense of comfort when staying at a sharia-licensed hotel are the main determining factors in this preference.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has profoundly affected numerous aspects of life, notably the educational landscape. The closure of schools and the transition to remote learning pose significant hurdles in fostering character education within Integrated Islamic Primary Schools (SDIT). This research delves into the obstacles and innovative approaches undertaken in character education at SDIT Permata Bunda and SDIT Pelita Khoitul Ummah in Bandarlampung City amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Employing a qualitative methodology with a case study approach, the study involved comprehensive interviews with educators, students, and parents, coupled with an analysis of school program documentation. Findings reveal that adapting to digital technology emerges as a major obstacle, particularly in maintaining vital social interactions essential for character development. Teachers and students are compelled to adopt more interactive and project-based learning methodologies to surmount the challenges posed by remote learning. Furthermore, parental engagement plays a pivotal role in reinforcing character learning at home. Innovations such as project-based online classes, virtual group discussions, and regular principal-parent meetings have augmented the participation and involvement of all stakeholders in the educational process. Despite the adversities encountered, the pandemic has spurred opportunities to devise more creative and efficacious learning strategies. In conclusion, while the Covid-19 pandemic presents multifaceted challenges, embracing innovative learning methodologies and fostering collaboration among stakeholders can substantially bolster the advancement of character education in SDITs. The success of character education hinges not solely on knowledge dissemination but also on collaborative endeavors among schools, students, and parents in fostering a conducive learning environment conducive to nurturing positive values.

Abstract

One of the main characteristics of the Qur'an is its captivating and impactful language that communicates its messages deeply to the listeners' souls. To explore and elucidate this dimension, scholars utilize a discipline known as the Science of Rhetoric (Ilmu Balaghah). Therefore, the author is interested in exploring the message of Surah Al-Bayyinah through the lens of Ilmu Balaghah to uncover the beauty and depth of meaning it contains. Consequently, this research will focus on two aspects: firstly, identifying the rhetorical styles present in Surah Al-Bayyinah; secondly, examining the implications of employing rhetorical styles in interpreting Surah Al-Bayyinah. Furthermore, this study is a literature review (library research) using a qualitative method. The research findings indicate that: 1) Surah Al-Bayyinah contains various rhetorical styles. Ash-Shabuni in his book "Shafwah al-Tafasir" delineates the rhetorical elements in Surah Al-Bayyinah, identifying at least five elements, namely: Ijmal tsumma tafshil, Ath-Thibaq, Muqobalah, Isti'arah tashrihiyyah, Tawafiq al fawashil; 2) The implications of the rhetorical dimension in interpreting Surah Al-Bayyinah have an influence and impact on the conveyed meaning. Each verse containing rhetorical elements in Surah Al-Bayyinah implies the interpreted meaning, and rhetoric serves as a tool to facilitate understanding the hidden meanings behind each of its verses.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology leading to the emergence of the Society 5.0 era, many challenges must be faced, including in the field of calligraphy. Therefore, it is important to have a calligraphy learning model that can equip students to face various challenges in line with the times. This research aims to examine how the Hamidi method of calligraphy learning is implemented at the Denanyar Jombang Qur'anic Calligraphy School (SAKAL) and its urgency in the Society 5.0 era in preserving Islamic cultural arts. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the Hamidi method of learning calligraphy at SAKAL is structured and systematic, offering various applications. This greatly supports efficiency in learning and provides multiple options for practice. The emphasis on holistic research and learning, as well as character education, is highly relevant in preparing a creative, innovative, and competitive generation, while also nurturing individuals with strong character traits suited for the Society 5.0 era. Furthermore, with the concept of sanad, which serves as a trusted and authoritative source and is a distinctive feature of the Islamic scientific tradition, learning calligraphy through the Hamidi method remains rooted in tradition. This contributes significantly to preserving Islamic cultural arts in the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

Investment has an important role in the economic development of a country through a funding vacuum, with investment inequality between regions can be overcome. This study aims to analyze the effect of exchange rates, inflation, interest rates and exports on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) using the VECM approach. VECM is used in this analysis because it can be used to estimate short-term effects between variables and long-term effects from time series data. This model was chosen because the influence of exchange rates, inflation, interest rates and exports cannot occur directly, but takes time to affect changes in foreign investment in Indonesia. This study used data from 1992-2022 taken from the Central Statistics Agency report. The results show that exchange rates and exports in the short and long term have a significant influence on Foreign Investment in Indonesia. While inflation and interest rates in the short term do not show a significant influence on Foreign Investment in Indonesia, while inflation and interest rate variables in the long term show a positive and significant influence on Foreign Investment in Indonesia. To increase foreign investment in Indonesia, the central government together with local governments should strive for ease of business licensing and the provision of fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to investors who invest in priority sectors in encouraging increased employment.

Abstract

This research situates feminism as a social, political, and ideological movement that aims to fight for women's rights and eliminate gender discrimination. The representation of feminism in the context of film and mass media refers to the ways in which women are shown and portrayed through stories, characters, and other elements. This study aims to analyze and compare the representation of feminism in the 19th century as depicted in Enola Holmes 2 and in the 20th century as depicted in On The Basis Of Sex. A descriptive qualitative research approach is used in this study, with documentation studies as the primary data collection technique. Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic theory is employed for data analysis to interpret the signifier and signified meanings. The results of this study indicate that in Enola Holmes 2, set in the 19th century, women's space for movement is very limited. Women are faced with a patriarchal system that restricts their opportunities for careers and education, preventing their participation in the public sphere. In contrast, On The Basis of Sex, set in the 20th century, shows that women can participate in the public sphere and obtain rights such as opportunities for work and education. This film also demonstrates feminist values through aspects like appearance, cosmetics, and personality. Feminist values are represented through camera codes, situations, and discourse. At the ideological level, feminist ideas are used to highlight the liberal school of thought, addressing discrimination against women who are treated unfairly, as seen in Enola Holmes 2.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Regional Expenditure and Dividends from Regional Government Capital Participation on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and Fiscal Decentralization in East Kutai Regency using path analysis. The results showed that Regional Expenditure has a significant positive effect on GRDP, indicating that effective expenditure allocation can increase regional economic output. Dividends from Local Government Capital Participation have a positive but insignificant effect on GRDP, reflecting the fluctuating and smaller contribution of dividends compared to other income sources. Local Government Expenditure has a negative and insignificant effect on Fiscal Decentralization, due to high consumptive personnel expenditure. Dividends from Local Government Capital Participation also have a positive but insignificant effect on Fiscal Decentralization due to a decrease in the amount of capital participation. GRDP has a positive but insignificant effect on Fiscal Decentralization, influenced by taxes paid directly to the central government. However, Regional Expenditure has a positive effect on Fiscal Decentralization through GRDP, indicating that the efficiency of infrastructure spending increases Regional Original Revenue (PAD). Dividends from Local Government Capital Participation also have a positive effect on Fiscal Decentralization through GRDP, as it creates tax liabilities that increase PAD. This research implies that optimizing local expenditure and dividends can increase GRDP and the effectiveness of fiscal decentralization.

The study employs a descriptive qualitative method utilizing a snowball sampling technique, where the initially identified informant assists in recruiting subsequent participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and content analysis of relevant Instagram posts. The findings indicate that Generation Z in Medan City views Call Out Culture on Instagram as a means to advocate for social change and increase awareness of critical issues such as social injustice, human rights, and environmental concerns. However, they also recognize the necessity of a balanced approach in delivering criticism to avoid exacerbating conflicts.
