Abstract

Social media plays an important role in carrying out God's mission in the digital age. Platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and podcasts are used to convey the Gospel creatively, interactively, and contextually, especially to the Millennial and Gen Z generations. The Gospel message can reach a wide audience without time and place constraints. However, the use of this media also requires the application of digital ethics and proper theological understanding so that the message conveyed remains in line with Christian values and is not misused. Therefore, the church must plan a good digital strategy and guidance for its congregation.

Abstract

The modern era is characterized by rapid social, cultural, and technological changes that significantly influence the Church’s understanding of its identity and mission. This article explores the crisis of missional identity faced by churches as they respond to secularization, pluralism, individualism, and digital advancements. Many churches today struggle to redefine their calling as witnesses of Christ in a rapidly changing world. This study examines key challenges such as loss of relevance, the narrowing of the meaning of mission, and shifts in ministerial focus. However, this crisis also presents opportunities for theological renewal, community strengthening, and the strategic use of digital technology in mission work. Through a contextual and reflective approach, this paper encourages the Church to return to the essence of the Gospel and reposition itself creatively to embody God’s love and truth in contemporary society.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease characterized by higher than normal blood glucose levels caused by the pancreas not producing enough insulin or the body's inability to use the insulin that has been produced. This study aims to determine the differences in blood and urine glucose test results in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at the Santa Elisabeth Hospital Laboratory in Medan. The type of research used is quantitative research with an experimental approach. The number of samples was 40 inpatients at Santa Elisabeth Hospital in Medan. The results of this study showed a dominant female gender of 25 people (62.5%) and a dominant age of 54-56 years as many as 12 people (30.0%). Statistical analysis of the Mann Whitnety test obtained a p-value of 0.001 so it can beconcluded that there are differences in blood glucose and urine glucose tests in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients. Although urine glucose tests can provide additional information about glucose control, blood glucose tests remain a more effective way to monitor patient conditions. Therefore, the management of Diabetes Mellitus must be carried out comprehensively by considering regular blood glucose checks and paying attention to the patient's kidney condition.

Abstract

There are several factors that can affect sample stability such as contamination by bacteria and chemicals, exposure to sunlight, the influence of temperature and metabolism of living cells such as blood cells. So the storage method for blood samples is stored in serum form in a refrigerator with a temperature of 2-8°C, so that serum stability will last for 3-5 days. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of storage time on the results of total cholesterol examinations in fresh serum and serum stored for 72 hours at a temperature of 2-8°C. The research method used was an experimental method with a cross-sectional approach a nd accidental sampling techniques. Data analysis used the Menn-Whitney test. The results of the study from 30 samples contained 24 samples (79.99%) of fresh serum total cholesterol levels at a temperature of 2-8°C in the normal category against serum sampl e examinations stored for 72 hours in the normal category, while 6 samples (20.01%) of fresh serum total cholesterol levels at a temperature of 2-8°C in the threshold category 1against serum sample examinations stored for 72 hours in the threshold category. The results of the data analysis showed a p-value of 0.000, which means that there is an effect of storage time on the results of total cholesterol examinations in fresh serum and serum stored for 72 hours at a temperature of 2-8°C. The factor that caused this was due to the delay in processing the sample, which resulted in an influence on the results of the study.

Abstract

Urinalysis is a routine urine examination in the laboratory that includes macroscopic, chemical, and microscopic (urine sediment) analysis. One of the most commonly found elements in urine sediment is leukocytes. Until now, the gold standard for urine sediment examination has been manual microscopy. However, with technological advancements, many laboratory personnel now use automated methods such as the Cybow Reader, which allows for quicker analysis. The aim of this study is to determine the difference in urine leukocyte results between the Cybow Reader and the manual microscopic (sediment) method. This research is experimental in nature. The population of the study consisted of all patients undergoing urinalysis at Seger Waras Hospital in May 2025. Using accidental sampling, a total of 20 samples were collected. The urinary leukocyte count obtained using the urine analyzer method showed results of 25/ul in 17 samples (85%), 100/ul in 1 sample (5%), and 500/ul in 2 sampels (10%). Meanwhile, the urinary leukocyte count using the urine sediment method showed results of +1 in 17 samples (85%),+2 in 1 sample (5%) and +3 in 2 samples (10%).The data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, followed by the Kruskal-Wallis test. The Kruskal-Wallis test yielded a p-value of 0.00, indicating that there is a significant difference in urine leukocyte results between the urine analyzer and the sediment method.

Abstract

Dengue Fever is an acute febrile illness caused by the dengue virus and transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito. The target organ of the dengue virus is the liver, and mild transaminitis is common in patients with dengue virus infection. Serum Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transaminase (SGOT) Serum glutamic pyruvate transaminase (SGPT) levels usually return to normal levels within 1-2 weeks. The pathogenesis of acute liver failure in patients with dengue is thought to be caused by the direct effect of the dengue virus on liver cells or due to an abnormal immune response to the dengue virus. This study was conducted with secondary data collected from January to June 2025. This type of study is a correlational study with a sample size of 54 people. The results of the SGOT examination in dengue fever patients with a minimum value of 37 U/L, a maximum of 96 U/L, a mean of 71.24 U/L and an SD of 13.67 U/L. The results of the SGPT examination of dengue fever patients obtained a minimum value of 35 U/L, a maximum of 69 U/L, a mean of 53.54 U/L and SD of 7.14 U/L. The results of the Pearson Product Moment correlation test obtained a p-value of 0.000 (p-value <0.05). This indicates a relationship between the results of the SGOT examination and SGPT in DHF patients. The increase in SGOT and SGPT in dengue patients is a result of liver cell injury considering that the dengue virus attacks the reticuloendothelial system of the host. This liver injury is due to the direct effect of the virus, but can also be caused by the host's immune response. One of these is the involvement of CD4+ cytotoxic T cells. This interaction causes the destruction of cells that present viral antigens and cells that do not present antigens in surrounding cells that also express Fas.

Abstract

Hyperthyroidism is a medical condition characterized by excessive production of thyroid hormones by the thyroid gland. Laboratory tests are an important step in diagnosing hyperthyroidism. The most important and most specific are TSH and FT4 level tests. This study aims to determine the relationship between TSH and FT4 level test results in hyperthyroid patients who underwent examination at Wangaya Regional Hospital, Denpasar City. The type of research used is a correlational research design. The sample in this study was all data from hyperthyroid patients who underwent FT4 and TSH examinations from August to September 2025 at Wangaya Regional Hospital, a total of 40 patients. The results showed that the dominant TSH test results were low, namely 19 people (47.5%) and normal FT4 results were 39 people (97.5%). The results of data analysis using the Spearman test showed a p-value of 0.320, which means p-value>0.05. This indicates no correlation between TSH and FT4 levels in hyperthyroid patients at Wangaya Regional Hospital, Denpasar City. This is likely due to the rapid onset of medication that suppresses FT4, while TSH takes much longer to return to normal.

Abstract

Laboratory results are one of the supporting aspects in describing the patient's condition in real-time. High-quality results can be reviewed through technical aspects. One that can be done is internal quality control, which aims to monitor the smoothness of a laboratory's quality system to achieve examination results with high-quality and reliable accuracy and precision. The laboratory quality control process includes pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical stages. The purpose of this study was to examine the precision and accuracy of quality control of triglyceride examination parameters. The research method used was quantitative analytical observation with a cross-sectional approach. This study was conducted at Wangaya Regional Hospital, Denpasar City, with daily control data collection for the period 1-31 August 2025. The data obtained were then processed using Microsoft Excel and analyzed using Westgard multirole. The results of quality control of triglyceride examinations in August for precision (accuracy) values based on the Coefficient of Variation (CV) formula (3,72%), and accuracy (precision) values can be seen from the bias value (d%) of (-5,2%). The results of this study can be concluded that the CV value and bias value (d%) do not exceed the maximum value and it can be said that in August 2025 it has a high level of precision and accuracy. The achievement of quality accuracy and precision can be assessed through laboratory quality assurance including pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical stages, based on this it is very important for a laboratory to carry out internal quality assurance (quality control) so as to create a sense of satisfaction to customers but also in accordance with operational provisions and professional codes of ethics that have been determined.
