Abstract

This research is an experimental class and control class all aimed to determine students who obtain learning through talking stick method is better than the expository method in an increased understanding of mathematical concepts and there is an increased understanding of mathematical concepts using talking stick method. Penenlitian design is pretest-posttest control group desigen which is one type of True Experimental design. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 5 Kuningan in the school year 2015/2016 as many as 103 were distributed in three classes. Samples were students of class VIII A and VIII B were taken by simple random sampling. Data is the value of understanding mathematical concepts derived from the test results. Based on test data hypothesis that students who acquire learning through talking stick method is better than the expository method in an increased understanding of mathematical concepts and there is an increased understanding of mathematical concepts using talking stick method. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the talking stick method can improve students' understanding ofmathematical concepts SMP Negeri 5 Kuningan.

Abstract

This thesis presents the findings of a study of the scientific approach to students' mathematical communication skills. The study involved an experimental class and control class taken from 6 grade at SMP Negeri 1 Cigugur. Studies conducted using essay test instruments for evaluating mathematical communication skills and a questionnaire to determine the students' response to the scientific approach. From the results of the posttest data analysis by t test, obtained t_hitung = 6.88 and with t_tabel = 1.686. Because 1.686 <6.888, the H1 is accepted. This shows that the mathematical communication skills students acquire the learning of mathematics with scientific approach better than students who received conventional learning. Begitupulla improvement of communication capabilities mathematical experimental class is better than the control class. In addition, the results of questionnaire responses students note that the students showed a positive response to scientific learning.

Abstract

The study involved an experimental class and control class is taken from the 9th grade at SMP Negeri 4 Brass. Studies conducted using essay test instruments for evaluating mathematical problem-solving ability and a questionnaire to determine the students' response to realistic mathematics approach. The discovery in this research is the mathematical problem solving ability of students who received study of mathematics by realistic mathematics approach better than students who received conventional learning, improvement of mathematical problem solving ability experimental class in middle category and the students' response to the positive realistic mathematics learning.

Abstract

Rini Apriyanti (NIM : 133223006), Using of SSCS (Search, Solve, Create and Share) Learning Model to Enhancement Mathematical Problem Solving Ability of Middle School Students. This research is based on the effort to improve students mathematical problem solving ability which get the learning model of SSCS (Search, Solve, Create and Share). Through the experimental method obtainded the initial test results of the control class with an average value of 7,20 and the average value of the experimental class 7,64. white in the final test obtained the average value of control class 9,14 and experimental class 13,10. From the results of initial data analysis and final sample data, it can be concluded that mathematics learning using SSCS (Search, Solve, Create and Share) learning model is better than mathematical problem solving ability of students who get conventional learning model. As for enhancement of mathematical problem solving ability of students experimental class is in the medium category. Other then that, from result the questionnaire of student responses known that student show positive response to SSCS learning model.

Abstract

Improving Student Mathematical Communication Ability.This study used a description test instrument to evaluate students' mathematicalcommunication abilities and used student response questionnaires to find out howstudents respond to the applied learning. To compare the ability of the two classes theresearcher uses one-way t test for two independent samples, Meanwhile, to analyzethe hypothesis of the class gain experiment, researchers used one sample t-test.From the pretest result it was known that the mean score of the experimental class was 4,57 and the control class was 3,79. Through the t-test at that value it is known that thitung = 1,86 while at 5% freedom degree and dk = 86 is known ttabel = 1,99. From both data it was known that -1,99 ? 1,86 ? 1,99 then it meets the acceptance criteria of H0. It means both classes have the initial ability of the same mathematical communication. Meanwhile, from posttest result it was known that the average of experiment class score was 11,53 and control class was 7,57. Because the posttest scores of the experimental class and homogeneous controls, then the comparative test was performed by the t-test. From the t-test it was known that thitung = 3,81 and ttabel = 1,67. From both data it was known that thitung ? ttable then thitung was not available in the reception area H0. This means that after the treatment of students' mathematical communication abilities, the experimental class was better than the control class. The improvement of mathematical communication ability of experimental class students were in the medium category. In addition, from the results of questionnaire responses of students, it was known that students showed a positive response to the probing-prompting learning model.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah kemampuan berpikir kreatifmatematis siswa yang menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TeamAssisted Individualization (TAI) lebih baik dari pada kemampuan berpikir kreatifmatematis siswa yang menerapkan pembelajaran konvesional. Penelitian inidilaksanakan di kelas VII SMPN 1 Lebakwangi pada semester 2 tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Teknik pemgambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah random sampling. Metodepenelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen. Hasil tes kemampuan berpikirkreatif matematis siswa diperoleh nilai rata-rata tes awal kelas eksperimen 32,83 dannilai rata-rata tes awal kelas kontrol 32,17. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata tes akhir kelaseksperimen 48,25 dan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol 37,42. Teknik analisis datamenggunakan uji-t untuk menguji hipotesis statistik. Pada uji perbandingan dua ratarata diperoleh nilai thitung = 2,040, nilai ttabel = 1,669, karena 2,040 > 1,669 atau-2,040 < -1,669 maka H1 diterima, artinya kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematissiswa yang menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team AssistedIndividualization (TAI) lebih baik dari pada kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematissiswa yang menerapkan pembelajaran konvesional.

Abstract

using realistic mathematics education Basedon multimedia to increase the students of MTs adaptive reasoning skills. Thebackground of this study is to improve the students Adaptive reasoning skills byusing Realistic mathematics Education Based on multimedia. The result of theinitial test indicates that the average value of control class is 4,45 and the averagevalue of experimental class is 5,1. Meanwhile the result of the final test shows thatthe average value of control class is 9,6 and the average value of experimentalclass is 11,8. Based on the outcome of the initial and final data analysis, it can beconcluded that learning realistic mathematics education based on Multimedia isbetter than konventional learning. Howefer, the increase of adaptive reasoningskills in experimental classes in middle category. In addtion, the results ofquestionnaire responses students showed a positive response to the realisticmathematics education based on multimedia.

Abstract

The purpose of this is to know the ability of mathematical connections ofstudents in learning mathematics with mathematical connections ability of studentsusing Brain-Based Learning.The population in this study are students of SMPN 2Kadugede, while the sample in this study were students of grade VII SMPN 2Kadugede. Sampling technique in this research use purposive sampling, in twoclasses to determine experiment class and control class.The experimental classreceive the learning by using the Brain-based Learning approach, while the controlclass receive the learning by using Direct Intruction approach.The research instrumentthat is test sheets of 6 problem description form. From the test result of mathematicalconnection ability of students obtained the average of initial test of the experimentalclass is 2.96 and the control class average is 3.75. While in the final test the averageexperiment class is 26.08 and the control class is 11.05.The data analysis techniqueuses the t-test to test the statistical hypothesis. From the this calculation obtained thetvalue of calculated equality test of two averages of 1.02 then on the ttable at 5%significance level and degrees of freedom 49, obtained table value 2.011 because -2.011 <1.02 <2.011 then H0 is accepted, meaning no difference between The initialtest grade of the experimental class and the control class.While at two difference oftwo average obtained t value 8,23 then at ttabel at 5% significance level and degree offreedom 46 obtained value ttable 2.011 because 2,011> 8,23 then H1 accepted, thatmean ability mathematical connection of student which use approach of Brain-basedLearning is better than the mathematical connection ability of students using DirectIntruction learning. There is an increase of students' mathematical connection abilitywith Brain-Based Learning approach that is in medium category and student'sresponse to learning using Brain Based Learning approach shows positive response.

Abstract

Implementation learning model of Team GameTournament to improve problem solving ability students. This study aims to determinethe problem solving math students with a model of learning Team Game Tournament,to know increase in the problem solving students with a model of learning Team GameTournament, as well as students learn the response to the Team Game Tournamentlearning model. This study using instruments tests description of the ability to evaluateproblem solving math students and use inquiries response students to learn theresponse students of learning applied. The results of the pretest known that wellblended score of problem solving math classes control is 5,8 while the experiment was7. Meanwhile the results of the posttest know that well blended scores problem solvingmath classes control is 18,15 and well blended scores problem solving math classesexperimental is 20,7. The results of the calculations score N-Gain obtained wellblended class experiments 0,68 and class control is 0,56. The result of the test t scoreN-Gain obtained tcount = 1,71. This means that after the treatment an inc experimentsbetter then the control. As an increase in the problem solving math classes experimentwas in the category of high. In addition to the results of the inquiries responsestudents, know that the students show response was positive against a model oflearning Team Game Tournament.
