Abstract

An advice conveyed by the Prophet to his people is to glorify their descendants or ahl al-bayt among them; The Prophet's wife, Ali bin Abi Talib, Fatima, Hasan, and Husain. This paper discusses the Sunni and Shia arguments in interpreting Ahl al-bayt based on two interpretations, al-Tabari and al-Mizan. Three things are studied: their understanding of interpreting ahl al-bayt, the taking of interpretation studies, and the differences of each school of thought in measuring the truth of history. The method we use is library research by taking primary sources in the form of books being studied, and secondary sources in the form of books, journal articles, and others. This discussion also summarizes the research results that glorifying the descendants of the Prophet is a form of respect. This must continue to be practiced until now, one of which is following da'wah studies from the descendants of the Prophet, namely Habib, Syarif, and Sayid.

Abstract

Banyak pondok pesantren menjadikan pembacaan surah-surah tertentu yang ada didalam al-Qur’an sebagai tradisi amaliyah atau wirid harian. Pembacaan surah-surah tertentu tersebut memiliki berbagai tujuan dari masing-masing pondok, ada yang bertujuan untuk memperlancar rizeki, sebagai tameng penjagaan diri, sebagai harapan dosa terampuni dan lain sebagainya. Biasanya praktik pembacaaan surah-surah tertentu yang ada didalam al-Qur’an tersebut berdasarkan hadis-hadis yang disampaikan oleh Nabi Muhammad SAW. Di Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Huda Turen, di setiap pagi harinya sebelum sholat subuh terdapat pembacaan Q.S al-Thariq. Q.S al-Thariq sendiri membahas tentang hari kebangkitan, akhirat, perhitungan amal (hisab), dan pembalasan. Surah al-Thariq juga membahas tentang penciptaan manusia dari wujud yang semula tidak ada menjadi ada. Oleh Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Huda Turen, pembacaan Q.S al-Thariq dijadikan sebagai wirid harian. Padahal, pembacaan Q.S al-Thariq sebagai wirid harian di pondok-pondok pesantren masih jarang dilakukan, apalagi dikalangan masyrakat. Adapun pemilihan Q.S al-Thariq sebagai wirid harian memiliki tujuan agar kebutuhan sehari-hari Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Huda Turen dan seluruh santri yang ada disana dapat terpenuhi dan tercukupi. Dalam praktiknya pembacaan Q.S al-Thariq di Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Huda Turen dibaca sebanyak 3 kali sebelum sholat subuh.

Abstract

This writing was motivated by the emergence of the book Tafsir Al-Manar in the 20th century, which was a very popular book at that time both in terms of the popularity of the author's character and in terms of the quality of the content of the interpretation. Tafsir Al-Manar is basically the work of three Islamic figures, namely Sayyid Jamaluddin Afghani, then Sheikh Muhammad Abduh and Sayyid Muhamamd Rasyid Ridha. Before the author focuses on the formulation of the problem considering that there are irregularities regarding the author/originator of this book, whether it is purely the work of Muhammad Abduh or Muhammad Rasyid Ridha. The author will briefly touch on several issues related to the interpretation of these two figures. The focus of this writing is stated in the problem formulation: 1) How was the transformation of the content of interpretation carried out by Muhammad Abduh before the mufassir generation? 2) What was the transformation of the content of interpretation carried out by Muhammad Rasyid Ridha after Muhammad Abduh's interpretation? These two problems will be focused on according to their respective principles. This type of research is qualitative in nature, for the time being it is the object of study so that this article can be formed using literature study and then analysis is carried out. This research focuses on literature data sources in the form of documents or written sources. Meanwhile, the aim of this research is to look at the changes in interpretation made by the two figures in accordance with the role of both reason and social conditions used by Muhammad Abduh.

Abstract

The Quran, as the holy scripture, continues to provide freshness through various interpretations without altering its essence and the value of its messages. The study of Quranic exegesis and various interpretative models has evolved over time, creating a vast wealth of knowledge. Since the time of Prophet Muhammad, scholars have made numerous efforts to uncover the meanings and content embedded in the Quran. They have employed diverse methods to delve into the core concepts presented by the Quran. Toshihiko Izutsu, with the ambition to address all issues related to keywords in the Quran, developed an ambitious method utilizing semantic analysis to facilitate researchers and scholars in interpreting Quranic verses by identifying key terms. This article delves into the diverse meanings of the terms "Lu’lu" to unveil its hidden and interconnected meanings within the Quran. It provides specific interpretations of certain words, deepening the understanding of the conceptual meanings conveyed by the Quran and complementing the literature of scholars and interpreters engaged in completing semantic studies.
