Abstract

The transformation of journalism in the digital age has led to the emergence of local online media platforms operating without formal editorial structures. This study investigates the news production process of a public service article published by a semi-professional online portal, focusing on how editorial routines are adapted—or bypassed—in decentralized environments. The selected article, which listed hospitals affiliated with the national health insurance program, was widely circulated yet contained factual inaccuracies that impacted readers' real-life service access. Using a qualitative case study design, the research draws on interviews with the editor, observational data, document analysis, and reader responses. The results reveal a linear, individualized editorial workflow in which a single actor handled all stages of production without verification protocols. Visual design elements such as structured layouts and official-like typography were employed to simulate credibility, resulting in what this paper terms aesthetic misinformation. While the article was produced to serve the public, the absence of institutional oversight contributed to its unreliability. The findings contribute to media and communication studies by highlighting the tension between visual legitimacy and journalistic integrity in grassroots media production. The study recommends adopting lightweight editorial standards and reflexive design practices to promote ethical information dissemination in non-institutionalized news environments.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the skills of emotion regulation and the use of visual expressions as nonverbal communication tools to raise awareness about the importance of identifying emotions and utilizing creativity and visual expression in dealing with emotions. Emotional intelligence has an important role in various fields, but attention to aspects of emphasizing emotional intelligence in communication design is still limited. Effective communication design must take into account the emotional impact on the audience, not just conveying information. The role of childhood adversity and generational trauma in shaping emotional regulation skills diminishes emotional intelligence in communication design. Research emphasizes the importance of emotional intelligence in communication design and explores the use of visual expressions as instruments of nonverbal communication. In addition, it is a valuable contribution to broadening the understanding of emotional intelligence and creative expression in effective communication. Autoethnography is employed as a strategy to delve into emotionally engaging design and to engage communities of individuals who may be uncertain or unskilled in effectively eliciting emotions from the written content. Through the process of autoethnography, the results of this study show personal progress in identifying emotions. This study creates awareness of the importance of emotional identification exercises and education about using ambient materials to deepen emotional experience through creativity and visual expression. Through an autoethnographic process, this study records personal progress in identifying emotions. Awareness of the importance of practicing emotional identification and utilizing surrounding materials to immerse oneself in emotional experiences, especially through creativity and visual expression, is also emphasized.

Abstract

Elementary School (SD) is the initial level of formal education implemented in Indonesia which takes 6 years. Elementary school students are generally aged between 7-12 years, at this stage the knowledge taught is basic knowledge which will then continue to be developed until middle school and high school. The lecture method used by schools in general and the use of companion books that are less interesting result in students being less able to understand Mathematics subjects, especially Flat Figures. The design of this learning media is to provide a solution for teaching Mathematics for fourth grade elementary school students in an easier and more enjoyable way. The problem faced here is how to design interactive learning media as an alternative learning media to support the teaching and learning process in schools for class IV elementary school that is easy to understand materially and makes it easier for students to see real things or objects. The method used is Research and Development (R&D). In connection with the problems being studied and preparations for formulating a research framework, at this stage, data collection is carried out by means of observation and interviews, then thinking about the product that will be produced by formulating research objectives, after that determining product specifications and making a research schedule for developing the initial form of the product. What will be produced is suitable for analyzing students' values and interests. The next step is to carry out initial field trials on a limited scale by validating the expert team to test whether the product is feasible or not. If it is not feasible, improvements will be made to the initial product produced. The manifestation of this research and design is an interactive multimedia learning CD. The overall results achieved are expected to increase added value to assist educators in providing interesting, fun and easy to understand mathematics education to improve the learning achievement of class IV students at Randugunting Public Elementary School, Semarang Regency.
