Abstract

This research examines the Panglukating Jiwa Dance as an effort to enhance creativity among the younger generation in appreciating and developing dance works. Many young people today have limited understanding of artistic works although art and religion are closely related in cultural practice. The Panglukating Jiwa Dance serves as a medium for exploring creativity in the arts within a religious and cultural context. This study focuses on the aesthetic values of the Panglukating Jiwa Dance performed in the Pangrupukan Tilem Sasih Kasanga ritual in 2024 at Pura Bhuana Puja Tamansari Boyolali. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method. The analysis covers the background of the dance creation, its form of presentation, and the aesthetic values contained in the Panglukating Jiwa Dance within the ritual context. The research applies Structural Functional Theory, particularly Talcott Parsons’ AGIL framework, and the aesthetic theory proposed by Djelantik. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The findings indicate that the creation of the Panglukating Jiwa Dance is influenced by community values, social norms, and environmental conditions. Its presentation reflects aesthetic elements including movement, makeup and costumes, floor patterns, musical accompaniment, properties, and lighting. The dance embodies cultural, religious, and economic values expressed through three aesthetic principles: unity and integrity, dominance or emphasis, and balance among supporting elements. Overall, the Panglukating Jiwa Dance functions not only as a ritual performance but also as an artistic expression that fosters creativity among the younger generation.

Abstract

Digital transformation in Hindu student organizations presents new challenges and opportunities, particularly in the context of organizational behavior. This study examines how the Indonesian Hindu Dharma Student Union (KMHDI), both at the Central Leadership (PP) and Bogor Branch Leadership (PC) levels, navigate these dynamics. The research focuses on the supporting and inhibiting factors of digital transformation that influence organizational communication and behavior. This study employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with nine informants, including central and branch administrators, community leaders, and academics. Findings indicate that digital infrastructure support, the commitment of young, tech-savvy administrators, and the flexibility of digital platforms such as Zoom and WhatsApp are contributing factors to the transformation. However, limited digital literacy, resistance to change, lack of access to official central media, and minimal external support are key challenges. The information gap between the central and branch levels also impacts the spirit of cadre development and a sense of belonging to the organization. While digital transformation can increase efficiency, it also changes communication patterns and closeness among members. For organizational sustainability, KMHDI needs to align technology with a culture of camaraderie, strengthen digital literacy, and develop an inclusive, hybrid communication strategy. This research contributes to the development of a communication strategy for Hindu student organizations in navigating the digital era in an adaptive and sustainable manner.

Abstract

The professionalism of Buddhist Religious Education teachers in the twenty-first century faces increasingly complex challenges due to rapid technological development, globalization, and social change. Teachers are not only required to master pedagogical and academic competencies but also to uphold moral integrity and exemplary character in delivering the Dhamma. This article aims to examine the role of the Lohicca Sutta as an ethical foundation for strengthening teacher professionalism within the context of modern Buddhist education. This study employs a qualitative approach through library research, analyzing the Lohicca Sutta together with relevant literature on Buddhist education and teacher professionalism. The findings indicate that the Lohicca Sutta emphasizes the moral responsibility of teachers to transmit the Dhamma with right intention, proper understanding, and genuine concern for the well-being of learners. Values such as compassion, wisdom, honesty, and exemplary conduct serve as core elements of teacher professionalism. Within the twenty-first century context, these ethical principles are highly relevant in guiding Buddhist teachers to fulfil their role as educators, moral guides, and character models amid the rapid flow of information and emerging moral challenges. Thus, the Lohicca Sutta provides an essential ethical and spiritual framework for strengthening the professionalism of Buddhist Religious Education teachers, ensuring that Buddhist education not only develops cognitive understanding but also cultivates moral character and inner awareness among students.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi secara mendalam konsep pedagogi kepemimpinan yang terkandung dalam teks Nītiśāstra karya Maha Rsi Kautilya. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami bagaimana kepemimpinan dipandang bukan sekadar sebagai posisi kekuasaan, melainkan sebagai proses pendidikan karakter yang berkesinambungan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan hermeneutika untuk menafsirkan makna filosofis dan pedagogis dari sloka-sloka dalam teks Nītiśāstra. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pedagogi kepemimpinan dalam perspektif Nītiśāstra mencakup integrasi antara kecerdasan intelektual, kematangan moral, dan pengendalian diri (Indriya Jaya). Teks ini membedakan secara jelas antara pedagogi, andragogi, dan heutagogi dalam konteks perkembangan kepemimpinan. Hakikat pedagogi kepemimpinan dalam Nītiśāstra menempatkan pemimpin sebagai pendidik, pembimbing, dan teladan moral bagi masyarakatnya. Proses pendidikan karakter ini dimulai dari disiplin diri sebagai fondasi utama sebelum memimpin orang lain. Tujuan akhirnya adalah pencapaian kesejahteraan bersama (Jagadhita) yang berlandaskan pada nilai-nilai Dharma. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada penggunaan pendekatan hermeneutika dalam merekonstruksi teks Nītiśāstra sebagai sumber pedagogi kepemimpinan, yang sebelumnya lebih banyak dikaji dalam perspektif etika dan politik. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa konsep kepemimpinan dalam Nītiśāstra memiliki nilai pedagogis yang universal dan relevan untuk membentuk karakter pemimpin yang berintegritas di era modern.

Abstract

This study explores the moral values contained in the Sabha Parwa section of Kamala Subramaniam's Vīracaritaṁ Mahābhārata. As a literary work based on Hindu Itihasa, Sabha Parwa depicts the moral decay and abuse of power within the royal court, particularly through the manipulated dice game that led to the downfall of the Pandavas and the humiliation of Draupadi. The primary issue addressed is how moral values in this classical text can be interpreted contextually to address the multidimensional moral degradation in contemporary society, such as corruption, violence, and the erosion of integrity. This qualitative research employs Gadamer's hermeneutic approach to interpret moral meanings behind dialogues and events in the text, bridging the values of ancient literature with modern understanding. The primary data source is Kamala Subramaniam's Mahabharata (2007), supplemented by secondary sources including books, journals, and related articles. Data collection was carried out through literature study and non-participant text observation. The analysis identifies six main moral values: justice and truth (dharma), responsibility and integrity, loyalty and betrayal, women's honor and dignity, self-control and the danger of desire, and religiosity and steadfastness. These values are highly relevant for strengthening character education and building ethical awareness in the digital era. The findings confirm that Sabha Parwa is not merely an ancient epic but a relevant moral reflection for addressing various forms of injustice and moral deviation in modern life.

Abstract

This research seeks to identify how religious moderation implementation, the factors influencing the formation of religious moderation, and the implications of religious moderation in the community life of Ceto Hamlet, Gumeng Village, Jenawi District, Karanganyar Regency. Ceto Hamlet is a multireligious area where Hindu, Muslim, and Christian communities live side by side harmoniously. The research employed a qualitative approach that included descriptive methods. Data was gathered using techniques such as observation, interviews, and document analysis. The participants in this research consisted of religious leaders, community leaders, village officials, youth organizations, and local residents of Ceto Hamlet. The analysis of data involved stages of data reduction, presentation of findings, and concluding observations. Findings revealed that the execution of religious moderation in Ceto Hamlet is notable. This research aims that the implementation of religious moderation in Ceto Hamlet is reflected in interfaith tolerance practices, social cooperation, mutual assistance, and community participation in religious and traditional activities without distinguishing religious backgrounds. The factors influencing the formation of religious moderation include local wisdom, a culture of mutual cooperation, the role of religious and community leaders, and the collective awareness of the community formed through long-term shared living experiences. The implementation of religious moderation has positive implications for creating social harmony, shaping tolerant community character, and maintaining the sustainability of peaceful and harmonious multireligious life in Ceto Hamlet.

Abstract

Strengthening the devotion and devotion of elementary school students through a contextual learning approach and the habituation of religious practices to form a character of discipline, honesty, politeness, and independence in worship. This research is qualitative with a descriptive case study method, analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The theoretical basis includes role theory, religious theory, and humanistic theory. Primary data sources were obtained from Hindu Religion teachers, students, principals, and parents, while secondary data were from related literature. Data collection techniques included participant observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature studies. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion verification. The focus of the research is the role of Hindu Religion teachers in strengthening the devotion and devotion of students at  Elementary School 2 Tlogotirto The main obstacles include the dominance of gadgets, variations in family backgrounds, and weak religious habits at home; added to the difficulty of teachers in digital adaptation and the lack of school-family synergy. The solution strategies implemented: 1) Learning Innovation: Utilization of storytelling, video media, educational games, and real practices (joint prayer, daily prayers, pasraman) that increase student motivation. 2) Role Modeling and a Humanistic Approach: Integrating the synergy of the Four Teachers for sustainable spiritual development. 3) Stakeholder Collaboration: Intensifying communication with parents to foster the inculcation of Hindu values ​​(dharma, satya, ahimsa) within the home environment. The implications of this strategy are manifested in improving students' religious character, discipline, and moral resilience.

Abstract

Javanese culture-based character education is an effort to instill character rooted in Javanese cultural values so that students who have morals without leaving the noble value of the wisdom of the Indonesian nation are formed. The importance of character education at the elementary school level is as a strong foundation for students to face various negative things that come in students' lives. This research is based on the above background and formulated several problem formulations, including: 1) Definition of Internalization; 2) Character education concept; 3) The concept of Javanese cultural values; 4) A strategy for internalizing the values of Javanese culture-based character education at SDN 1 Karanganom; 5) Challenges and sustainability strategies for internalizing the values of Javanese culture-based character education at SDN 1 Karanganom. The purpose of this research is to describe the internalization of Javanese culture-based character education values at SDN 1 Karanganom. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method. data was collected through observations, interviews with Principals, Teachers, Parents of students, and Students. The data analysis used the approach of J. Piaget's constructivism theory, Ki Hajar Dewantara's character education theory, and Albert Bandura's social cognitive theory. The results of this study show that the strategy used in the process of internalizing the values of Javanese culture-based character education at SDN 1 Karanganom through habituation activities, integration into the curriculum, and cultural preservation activities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakanghi oleh pentingnya pendidikan karakter di era digital akibat munculnya berbagai permasalahan moral, seperti hoax, cyberbullying, serta isu privasi dan keamanan data. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis nilai-nilai etika tokoh Bhisma dan Ekalawya dalam Adiparwa serta relevansinya terhadap pendidikan karakter di era digital. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Sumber data yang diperoleh dari teks Adiparwa, adapun buku Adiparwa yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah terjemahan oleh Dra. Anak Agung Inten Mayuni, M.Hum., Drs. I Wayan Ana, M.Hum., Drs. I Made Jendra, M.A., dan Drs. I Wayan Sukarma, M.Si., cetakan ke-11 tahun 2013, yang diterbitkan oleh CV. Setia Abadi. Sementara itu, sumber data sekunder berupa berbagai literatur yang relevan, seperti buku-buku, artikel ataupun jurnal terdahulu yang berkaitan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tokoh Bhisma memiliki nilai etika berupa pengorbanan dan pengendalian diri, kesetiaan dan keteguhan, serta tanggung jawab dan pengabdian. Sementara itu, tokoh Ekalawya menunjukkan nilai etika berupa ketekunan dan disiplin dalam menuntut ilmu serta penghormatan dan bakti kepada guru. Nilai-nilai etika tersebur memiliki relevansi terhadap pendidikan karakter di era digital, khususnya pada dimensi berkebinekaan global dalam Profil Pelajar Pancasila yang berkaitan dengan komunikasi dan interaksi antarbudaya, refleksi dan tanggung jawab terhadap pengalaman kebinekaan, serta berkeadilan sosial. Selain itu, nilai-nilai tersebut juga relevan dalam menghadapi berbagai permasalahan moral di era digital, seperti penyebaran hoax, cyberbullying, serta rendahnya kesadaran terhadap privasi dan keamanan data.

Abstract

The increasing number of climbers on Mount Lawu, particularly through open trip service providers, has led to environmental problems such as waste accumulation, water source pollution, and ecosystem damage. This study aims to describe the management and educational strategies implemented by open trip providers, identify supporting factors for the application of Palemahan teachings, and analyze the forms of collaboration between service providers and related institutions. A qualitative descriptive narrative approach was employed, involving five open trip providers operating on the Candi Cetho route: Oaoe Adventure, Tiga Dewa Adventure, Tebet Adventure, Green Lawu, and CFD Traveller. Data collection techniques included direct observation, in-depth interviews with owners, crew, guides, porters, participants, and informants from PUD (Regional Public Company) Aneka Usaha and Perhutani, as well as documentation studies. Data analysis used reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing with source and technique triangulation. The study applies Cooper's 4A Tourism Destination Management Theory, Robert L. Kahn's Role Theory, and Emile Durkheim's Social Solidarity Theory. The findings indicate that management includes planning, implementation, evaluation, and supervision. Environmental education strategies are carried out through pre-climb briefings, role modeling, direct supervision, and the pack in pack out system with personal trash bags. Supporting factors include natural attractions, accessibility, facilities, environmental awareness, involvement of local porters, and social solidarity. The implementation of Palemahan values is realized through land protection, water conservation, fire control, waste management, and flora and fauna preservation. Collaboration with PUD (Perusahaan Umum Daerah) Aneka Usaha, Perhutani, village government, volunteers, and local communities plays a crucial role in waste management, conservation, supervision, and law enforcement.
