Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan power up dan grounding wire terhadap efisiensi dan emisi pada sepeda motor Honda Supra X 125, serta menggunakan pendekatan eksperimen kuantitatif dengan metode pengujian langsung pada sepeda motor Honda Supra X 125. Pengujian dilakukan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu kondisi standar tanpa modifikasi, penambahan power up dengan variasi tegangan 10V hingga 14,5V, serta penggabungan grounding wire yang memiliki 5 titik ground. Data diambil menggunakan dynotest untuk mengukur kecepatan putar mesin dan Portable Exhaust Gas Analyzer (PEGA) untuk mengukur emisi gas buang. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan membandingkan hasil dari ketiga tahap tersebut untuk menilai pengaruh modifikasi terhadap efisiensi bahan bakar dan emisi gas buang. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan Pada kombinasi power up dan grounding wire menunjukkan hasil terbaik. Pada tegangan 13 hingga 14 volt, kadar emisi CO berhasil ditekan menjadi 1,45–1,70% dan HC menurun ke kisaran 279–348 ppm

Abstract

Solar energy is one of the most impactful renewable energy sources and has great potential compared to other energy sources. The use of solar energy can be maximized by using solar panel technology and solar collectors. One example is a solar water heater. Polycarbonate is a good material to be applied to solar water heaters because it has good mechanical properties and is corrosion resistant. This study aims to analyze the performance of a polycarbonate solar water heater with a trickle system using a flow rate of 2 l/m. This type of research is quantitative with experimental research methods. This research was conducted by flowing water through a solar water heater and taking data from 08.00-15.00 with 3 repetitions to obtain accurate results. Data were collected by recording the temperature at the inlet, outlet, collector, top collector, environment, intensity of solar radiation, and wind speed. The data obtained were analyzed to find collector efficiency, fluid efficiency and total efficiency. Based on the research results, this solar water heater is capable of producing water temperatures up to 40.5°C with temperature changes of up to 7.2°C. This solar water heater is able to produce a collector efficiency of up to 52%, and a total efficiency of 37%.

Abstract

The needs of electrical energy particularly in Indonesia is very great and continues to increase every year. The development of a micro scale horizontal axis wind turbine can be a solution to solve that. This research has a purpose to find out the influence of number of blades and wind speed variation on electrical energy produced by micro scale horizontal axis wind turbines. The method which was used in this research was experiment method and it was implemented at the Laboratory of Study Program of Mechanical Engineering Education of Sebelas Maret University. The variable that was used in this research was by using blades with airfoil SG6043 with variations of blades number and the giving load in the form of 12v and 24v LED lights. The horizontal axis wind turbine rotor has a diameter of 800 mm and a blade length of 400 mm which is printed with 3D Printing PLA material. The data collection was implemented on the wind speed of 1 m/s to 5 m/s. The results of this research is the wind turbine that used 5 blades produced the highest power of 9.22 Watt at 24v loading and had the highest power performance value of 0.241 at maximum wind speed of 5 m/s. The number of blades and wind speed and loading could affect the electrical power produced by the turbine, the more blades and the higher the wind speed, the greater the power generated by the turbine.

Abstract

This research aims to carry out an in-depth analysis regarding risks and work safety control efforts at the SMKS Pancasila Surakarta Machining Workshop, by applying the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) method. In the direct observation process, a number of potential risks have been identified, including aspects of lighting that are less than optimal, equipment storage management that is not yet fully efficient, conditions of supporting facilities that need to be improved, and a lack of awareness regarding Occupational Safety and Health (K3). This risk analysis then paves the way for the development of control measures that focus on improving lighting, better equipment storage arrangements, strategic placement of supporting facilities, installation of stabilizers on machines, and expanding K3 awareness through industrial work culture. It is hoped that these recommendations can make a significant contribution in creating a learning environment that is not only safe and comfortable, but also more productive for students and teaching staff in vocational school machining workshops. Thus, this research not only illustrates an in-depth understanding of risks in SMK machining workshops, but also offers concrete solutions to improve overall work safety conditions.

Abstract

The development of science and technology is currently very developed with a lot of development in various fields, one of which is in the field of education, with the development of science in the world of education making it easier for all sectors in education, especially in the educational process, making it easier for students or students to learn and making it easier for educators to harden learning to be more enjoyable. This research has the objective, namely: to develop teaching materials in the combustion motor course that are adjusted to meet the needs and characteristics of students. The research method used in this research is teaching material research using the 4d development model adopted from Thiagarajan, et al (1974) which consists of 4 stages, namely define, design, develope and disseminate or can also be interpreted with 4p as follows: pendefinisian, perancangan, pengembangan, dan penyebaran. The data collection technique in this study uses a validation method consisting of questionnaire validation and expert validation (material expert validation, media expert validation, and linguist validation), This research also uses the focus group discussion method with various experts in their fields.Based on the results of the research obtained in the research on the development of the e-module of the combustion motor course, it shows that the results of expert validation carried out get decent Sanagat results with validation results from several aspects, namely: material expert validation shows the average result of the assessment with a percentage result of 90% (very feasible), expert validation shows the average result of the assessment with a percentage result of 97% (very feasible), linguist validation shows the average result of the assessment with a percentage result of 90% (very feasible) From the various validations carried out also received criticism / suggestions / input from various experts who assessed the improvement of the e-module. The results obtained from the focus group discussion conducted with experts in the field of automation produced several points of view on the electronic module of this combustion motor in the form of advantages and disadvantages so that improvements must still be made to the module, so that this electronic module of the combustion motor is carried out in a limited distribution in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta.

Abstract

This research aims to know: (1) relevance of learning school with Honda; (2) implementation of curriculum techniques motorcycles Honda in Vocational High School Pancasila Surakarta; (3) evaluation curriculum techniques motorcycles Honda in Vocational High School Pancasila Surakarta. This research is evaluative research. Data source derived from 98 students TSM-Honda, headmaster, Deputy Headschool of curriculum, curriculum development division Honda. Data techniques include by questionnaire, interview, observation, and documentation. This research used logic validity or reasoning that instrument is valid based on rational analysis. Apparatus are arranged based on reasoning should be referred to experts so this instrument truly intelligent before distributed to respondents. The procedure consists research method, determine, devise research instruments, data retrieval, data analysis, the withdrawal of conclusion. The conclusion is: (1) curriculum implementation of Motorcycle-Honda Engineering is composed of four aspects context, planning, execution and evaluation, curriculum implementation of Honda overall reaches 72% with a high category; (2) context aspect reaches 78% with top grade. This means that the aspect context which includes the relevance of learning school with Honda and Honda-TSM program eligibility is already proper; (3) planning aspect reached 68% with a high category. Aspects planning that includes an input of students, the quality of the applicants, the parties involved, the training of teacher preparedness, Honda's been good; (4) implementation aspect of the reach 74% with a high category. Implementation aspects of administrative arrangement that includes teaching, learning materials, tools and materials, media of learning, learning methods are already good; (5) evaluation aspect reached 67% with a high category. An evaluation includes elements of competency teachers, students, students ' value competency, communication with Honda, the success of curriculum, curriculum development is already good.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of the block system learning in the productive subject of Machining Engineering at SMK Negeri 5 Surakarta. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the research findings indicate that the implementation of the block system enhances student engagement, deepens theoretical understanding, and improves practical skills. Interview analyses and case studies highlight a shift from a teacher-centered to a more participatory learning approach. Positive implications of constructivist and competency-based learning are evident in the enhanced quality of learning outcomes. The conclusion emphasizes the effectiveness of the block system learning as a relevant vocational education model aligned with industry needs. Recommendations include the development of teaching methods, increased industry involvement, and further research. Gratitude is extended to SMK Negeri 5 Surakarta, educators, students, and supporters who contributed to this research.

Abstract

The use of a steam carburetor is one way to reduce exhaust gas emissions where it works by mixing fuel and air in the room with an evaporation process so that the air and fuel mixture is more homogeneous. This study aims to see (1) the effect of using a steam carburetor on exhaust gases on a Supra X motorcycle; (2) the effect of using variations in exhaust gas emissions on the Supra X motorcycle; (3) the effect of using steam carburetors and fuel variations on the exhaust emissions of the Supra X motorbike. This research is a research, quantitative, descriptive, comparative, with experimental methods. The research used the 2x2 method which consists of independent variables using steam and conventional carburetors as well as variations of pertalite (RON 90) and pertamax (RON92) fuel. Exhaust gas emission testing is guided by the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) with three repetitions, for 20 seconds times the test The results of the study are as follows: First, the use of a steam carburetor produces lower exhaust emissions compared to conventional carburetors on a 100cc Supra X motorcycle. Second, pertalite fuel (RON 90) produces lower exhaust emissions compared to Pertamax fuel (RON 92). Third, the effect of using the type of carburetor and the type of fuel that produces the lowest exhaust emission, namely the steam carburetor using the combined splash and bubbling method with pertalite fuel with an average of 0.52% CO and 273.67ppm HC.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the performance of a grass chopping machine with a controlled cutting size system in terms of chopping capacity and quality of the cutting results. The background of this research is driven by the need for efficient, uniform, and easily digestible forage for livestock. The method used is an experimental approach with variations in rotational speed (RPM) and feeding mechanism as independent variables, while chopping capacity and cutting length are treated as dependent variables. Data were collected through direct testing of the designed machine by measuring processing time, material weight, and the length of the chopped output. The results indicate that increasing rotational speed significantly improves chopping capacity; however, it also tends to produce shorter and less uniform cutting results. In addition, a stable feeding mechanism contributes to more consistent cutting quality. Therefore, an optimal combination of operational parameters is essential to achieve the best machine performance. This research is expected to serve as a reference for the development of more efficient and practical grass chopping machines for livestock feeding systems.

Abstract

Mechanical Engineering Education Program FKIP UNS is a study program that produces professional staff in the teaching and engineering fields who have competence in carrying out teaching processes, workshops, manufacturing processes, manufacturing drawing designs, etc. One of the courses in MEEP is Computer Aided Design 2. This course is a compulsory subject that must be taken by MEEP students in semester 4. The problem that occurs in this research is the implementation of learning in Computer Aided Design 2 courses at MEEP is not maximized, so the problem is not known the level of suitability between the implementation of the learning program with the semester learning design and the resulting output. Therefore, appropriate learning videos are needed in the learning process for CAD 2 courses. The feasibility testing of this learning video involves 3 parties, there are subjects experts, media experts, and users. From the assessment of material experts, it was obtained that the percentage of eligibility averaged 92.28% and was included in the "very feasible" category. From the assessment of media experts, it was obtained that the average percentage of eligibility was 88% and was included in the "very feasible" category. The trial process was attended by MEEP students who were taking CAD 2 courses. From the user response data of 70 respondents, it was obtained that the average eligibility percentage was 84.34% and was included in the "very feasible" category. The conclusion is that the development of learning videos in Computer Aided Design 2 courses is very feasible and suitable for use in the learning process.
