Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The purposes of this research are to ascertain: 1)  the influence of guided discovery methode toward scientific attitudes and 2) the influence of guided discovery learning methode  toward student?s achievement in cognitive domain. The research was quasi experiment research. The research was designed using randomized control-group pretest-postest design. Experimental group applied guided discovery method. Control group applied conventional metode. The populations of this research were all of 10th degree students at SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012. The samples of this research were the students of X2 as control group consist of 30 students and X3 as experiment group consist of 31 students. The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling. The scientific attitudes data was collected by questionaire and the student?s achievement in cognitive domain was collected by essay test. The hypotheses of scientific attitudes data analyzed by t test and the student?s achievement in cognitive domain data analyzed by anacova.  The conclusions of this research are: 1) application of guided discovery learning method had significant effect toward scientific attitudes;  2)  application of guided discovery learning method had significant effect toward student?s achievement in cognitive domain. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The  purpose of this research is to improve students?  science process skills in class X5 SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012 with implementation of Group Investigation cooperative learning model. This research was a classroom action research and performed in  2 cycles. Every cycle consists of 4 steps, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data were collected by observation, questionnaire, and interview. The  data were  validated by  triangulation method. The collected data were supported by the result of students? science process skills test in the last cycle. The analyzed technique used descriptive analysis.  The result of this research showed that  according observation  sheet  the average percentage of science process skills aspect in the cycle I was 52,57% and  had been improved up to 80,36% in cycle II. The average percentage of science process skills aspect based on quetionnaire in cycle I was 84,22% and 86,56% in cycle II. According to the students interview,could be concluded that the students were able to do  science process skill in learning process. The data of science process skill test in cycle I, the student that got test result  ? 70 was 25% and  in cycle II was 67,86%.  The average test result of the class in cycle I was 60,27 had been improved up to 67,14 in cycle II. The conclusion of this research was the implementation  of  Group Investigation (GI)  cooperative  learning model could  improve  students science process skills in class X5 SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012. Abstract

ABSTRACT - This research  aimed  to know,  (1)  The existence of significant influence?s  Group Investigation  model towards the results study of Biology class X SMAN 2 Karanganyar, (2) The existence of significant influence?s creativity level towards the results study of Biology students in class X SMAN 2 Karanganyar, (3) The  interaction of significant influence?s between Group Investigation  model and creativity level towards the results study of Biology students in class X SMAN 2 Karanganyar. This research is Quasi Experimental Research. Subject in this research are students class X  SMAN 2 Karanganyar semester I  academic year  2011/2012.  Sample in this research are 2 class there are class X2 as control class and class X4 as experiment class. Technique of  data collection  test, questionnaire and observation sheet. Test is used to measure of cognitif domain and student creativity level, questionnaire is used to measure of afective domain, and observation sheet is used to measure of psikomotoric domain. Technique of data analysis use two ways Varians Analysis (ANAVA) and continuation test use double comparation Scheffe method. Based the result of this research can conclude are, (1) there is significant influence using learning model Group Investigation  towards the results study of Biology, (2) there is significant influence creativity level students towards the results study of Biology, (3) there is no interaction of significant influence?s between Group Investigation   model and creativity level  towards the results study of Biology. The result of continuation test use  Scheffe  method  can conclude are,  (1)  there is significant influence between  column  A1  (using  Group Investigation  model)  and  column  A2 (using Conventional model)  towards the results study of Biology, and (2) there is significant influence between row B1  (high level creativity) and  row B2  (low level creativity)  towards the results study of Biology. The case must be concern in implementation of learning model Group Investigation  for research to be effective are students psychological factors like as readiness students capability to learning be autonomous and the students anxienty with sub topic for investigated.   Keywords: Group Investigation, Creativity, Result Study of Biologi

Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The aim of this research is improve quality of biology learning for teacher?s performance, utility of facilities in the classroom, classroom climate, science attitude of student, and student motivation of achievement in student class X.7 in 2th senior high school of Karanganyar in academic year 2011/2012. This research belongs to classroom action research consist of three cycle and each have four phases, namely  planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The collecting data of research uses questionnaire, observation, and interview. Validation data uses triangulation of methods and triangulation of observers. The research uses analyzed descriptively.  The result in cycles I describes that generally the research target is not achieve yet that showed teacher?s performance indicators are 86,67%, classroom climate indicators are 72,79%, science attitude of students in class are 69,12%, and motivation of achievement in students are 68,63%. The result in cycles II describes that the research target is not achieve yet optimally that showed teacher?s performance indicators are 96,67%, classroom climate indicators are 78,67%, science attitude of students in class are 75,98%,  and motivation of achievement in students are 74,18%. The result in cycles III describes that the research target is completely achieve and showed that teacher?s performance indicators are 100%,  , classroom climate  indicators are 91,18%, science attitude of students in class are 84,31%, and motivation of achievement in students are 84,31% and utility of learning facilities in the classroom have been optimally. Cycles stopped in cycles III because the research target is achieved. The conclusion of this research describes that the implementation of inductive thinking learning model based science process skills can improve  quality of biology learning for  teacher?s performance, utility of facilities in the classroom,  classroom climate, science attitude of student, and motivation of achievement in student of class X.7 in 2th senior high school of Karanganyar year 2011/2012. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The  aims of the research were  to find out  the correlation  between: 1) memory ability with cognitive learning achievement of biology of student of SMA Negeri 2 Madiun in academic year of 2011/2012, 2) learning motivation of biology with cognitive learning achievement  of biology  of student  of SMA Negeri  2 Madiun in academic year of 2011/2012,3) memory ability and learning motivation of biology with  cognitive learning achievement  of student  of SMA Negeri  2 Madiun in academic year of 2011/2012. This  is  a correlational research.  The population  taken  were all of the students of SMA Negeri  2 Madiun  in academic year of 2011/2012. The sample was taken among  676  samples of student using  stratified  random sampling technique.  Documentation technique was used to uncover student?s  cognitive learning achievement  and memory ability was measured by using testtechnique. While learning motivation of biology was measured by using questionnaire technique.  The obtained data was analysed using linier regression analysis in SPSS 16. The results  showed that (1)  there was a  positive  correlation between memory ability with cognitive learning achievement of biology ofstudentof SMA Negeri  2 Madiun  in academic year of 2011/2012, 2)  there was a  positive correlation between  learning motivation of biology  with  cognitive learning achievement  of biology ofstudentof SMA Negeri  2 Madiun  in academic year of 2011/2012,  3)  there was a  positive  correlation between  memory ability  and learning motivation of biology with  cognitive learning achievement  of biology of student of SMA Negeri  2 Madiun  in academic year of 2011/2012.  Each of independent  variable, that is  memory ability  and  learning motivation of biology has contribution to dependent variable, that is  cognitive  learning achievement of biology. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? It already been  known that biology as a branch of science will emphasizes on  how to think critically to gain most of its basic concepts. Hence, the weaknesses of mastering this kind of skill will be followed by the unsuccessful mastering of its concepts respectively. Factual phenomenon observed towards high school student of the grade of  XI of Assalam Islamic Boarding School in academic year  2011/2012 showed  that student performing a teacher centered classical learning. Student has never induced and  motivated to be a real learner. This, makes student are unable to perform good critical thinking skill. This is real problem in this class that needs to be solved trough particular strategy.  Blended learning is expected to be an effective strategy since  it facilitates both, student centered learning and optimizing the use of ICT based learning. This research is aimed to ascertain 1) blended learning implementation in biological learning process, 2) blended learning implementation in biological learning process. This research belongs to classroom action research  consist of four cycle and each have four phases, namely planning, actuating, observing and reflecting. The subject of the research is XI IPA 4 Putra students at SMA RSBI Pondok Pesantren Modern Islam Assalaam Sukoharjo in academic year 2011/2012. The data was collected by test and non test technique, it was carried out by using essay test,  observation sheet, questionnaire, and interview. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive approach and validated through triangulation method. The results showed that the average percentage of critical thinking aspect from essay test, such as the 1st cycle 56,82%, the 2nd cycle 61,93%, the 3rd cycle 68,94% and the 4th  cycle 75,75%. Therefore, it can be concluded that 1) blended learning could be applied in biological learning process, 2) blended learning could be used to improve critical thinking. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The purposes of this research ware to  ascertain  the influence  ARIAS lerning models toward biology learning achievement of XI IPA grade students at SMA Al Islam 1 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012. This research  is considered as  quasi  experiment research using quantitative approach. The research was  designed using  posttest only control design  that  applied Quantum  Learning approach in experimental group and conventional approach with discussion, classical course and question-answer method in control group.  The population of this  research  was all of  XI  IPA  degree students at SMA  Al Islam 1 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012.  The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling that choosed  XI IPA 3 as experiment group and XI IPA 2 as control group.  The  data  was collected  by  using questionnaire, multiple choice test, observation form, and document. The hypotheses analyzed by t-test. The conclusion of this research showed that application of Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assesment, And Satisfaction (ARIAS)      learning models  had  significant  effect toward biology learning achievement  in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domain of XI IPA grade students at SMA Al Islam 1 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? This research is aimed to know relationship between: 1)  IQ (Intelligence Quotient) and cognitive learning achievement  of biology of  first  student?s grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012,  2) EQ  (Emotional Quotient) and cognitive learning achievement  of biology of  first  student?s grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012, 3)  IQ  (Intelligence Quotient),  EQ  (Emotional Quotient), and  cognitive learning achievement  of biology of  first  student?s grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012. This was a correlational research. The population were all of the students first grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012.  The sample was taken among 74 samples of student using  simple random  sampling technique.  Documentation technique was used to uncover student?s cognitive learning achievement, while  IQ (Intelligence Quotient) dan EQ  (Emotional Quotient) was measured by using test technique. The obtained data was analysed using linier regression analysis in SPSS 17. The result showed that (1) there is correlation  IQ (Intelligence Quotient) and  cognitive learning achievement  of biology of  first  student?s  grade  of  SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012, 2) there is correlation EQ (Emotional Quotient)  and  cognitive learning achievement  of biology of first student?s grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012,  3) there is correlation both of  IQ  (Intelligence Quotient)  and  EQ  (Emotional Quotient) with cognitive learning achievement of biology of first student?s grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012.  The  three aforementioned correlation are considered as significant and positive valuable.  In addition  the results  showed that  relative  contribution  of IQ toward cognitive learning achievement in Biology  is 48.6%,  relative  contribution  of EQ toward cognitive learning achievement in Biology is 51.4%, Effective contribution of IQ toward cognitive learning achievement in Biology is 7.63%, effective contribution of EQ toward cognitive learning achievement in Biology  is 8.07%, total effective contribution both of IQ and EQ are15.7% Keywords:  IQ (Intelligence Quotient), EQ (Emotional Quotient),cognitive learning achievement in biology, linier regression analysis

Abstract

ABSTRACT ? This research is aimed to  know effect  of implementation  strategy Guided Note Taking (GNT)  with optimalized learning  equipment  towards  biology  learning achievement. This research held upon senior high school student of SMA kebakkramat in academic year 2011/2012. Guided Note Taking (GNT)  with optimalized  learning  equipment  was expected to be more effective rather than if use convensional method. All student of SMA Kebakkramat had been chosen as a research population. Since, not all student was not attending biological class, hence, randomly, 2 clusters were selected representing the control class (for where the experimental treatment was not carried out) and the experimental class for where the  Guided Note Taking (GNT)  with optimalized learning equipment was applied upon. Quasy-experimental method was designed to achieve the stated research objectives following the quantitative paradigm used in this research. In addition, Randomized Subjects Posstest Only Control Group Design  was used as a research design to facilitate the data collection procedures. The data were collected using several techniques namely, questionnaire,  posttest with multiple choice, observation tools and related document. The final obtained data were then analyzed using t- test method. The results of this research showed that the implementation of the strategy has significantly affected the  biology  learning achievement.  It has been proven to have an impact towards cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? This research is aimed to know the strenght and direction between: 1) metakognitif achievement and cognitive learning achievement of biological lesson of XI IPA student?s grade of SMA Negeri 3 Sukoharjo in academic year of 2011/2012, 2) Verbal intellegences and cognitive learning achievement of biological lesson of XI IPA student?s  grade of SMA Negeri 3 Sukoharjo in academic year of 2011/2012, 3) Interpersonal intelligences and  cognitive learning achievement of biological lesson of XI IPA student?s grade of SMA Negeri 3 Sukoharjo in academic year of 2011/2012. It is a kuntitatif correlational research. The population was taken all of students XI IPA grade of SMA Negeri 3 Sukoharjo in academic year of 2011/2012. The sample was taken using simple random sampling technique. Test technique was used to uncover student?s verbal  intellegences, documentation  technique was used  to uncover student?s cognitive learning achievement, while metakognition achievement and interpersonal intellegences was measured by using questionnaire. The obtained data was analysed using multiple linier regression analysis with SPSS 16. The result showed that (1) there is corellation between metakognition achievement and cognitive learning achievement of biological lesson of XI IPA student?s grade of SMA Negeri 3 Sukoharjo  in academic year of 2011/2012, with  the  regression coefficient is  0,238, the  relative  contribution  is 42,4% and the  effective contribution is 19,6%,  2) there is corellation between verbal intellegences and cognitive learning achievement of biological lesson of XI  IPA student?s grade of SMA Negeri 3 Sukoharjo in academic year of 2011/2012, with the  regression coefficient is 0,154, the relative  contribution  is 32% and the  effective  contribution is  14,8%,  3) there is corellation between interpersonal intellegences with cognitive learning achievement  of biological  lesson of XI IPA student?s grade of SMA Negeri 3 Sukoharjo in academic year of 2011/2012, with the  regression coefficient is 0,175, the relative contribution is 25,6% and the effective contribution is 11,8%. The three aforementioned corellation are considered as significant and positive valuable. They have 46,2% contribution to learning achievement of biological lesson. Each of independent variable that is metakognitif achievement, verbal intellegences and interpersonal intellegences has contribution to dependent variable, that is learning achievement of biological lesson. Student achievement at biological lesson as much as 53,8% is affected by other factor.
