Abstract

In every lesson, an approach is needed in teaching and learning activities. This approach must be in accordance with what students need to understand each material taught. Especially in science learning. At elementary school level, especially in class V, learning science material requires in-depth understanding, so an approach is needed that takes into account each child's intelligence. In the implementation of science learning, there is an approach called the multiple intelligence approach. In implementing science learning in class V at MI Masjid Al-Akbar Surabaya, the implementation is by combining each science learning method that is appropriate to the material being taught. Learning with multiple intelligence is very appropriate to be applied to science learning. The implementation of science learning based on multiple intelligence means that every child with different intelligence can understand the material presented in science learning. There are obstacles and supporters in implementing multiple intelligence-based science learning in class V. Among these obstacles are the lack of innovation by teachers and the students' uncertain moods. Meanwhile, the supporting factors for implementing multiple intelligence science learning are the availability of various facilities provided by schools as well as collaboration between students, teachers and parents who help each other in approaching multiple intelligence learning in class V.

Abstract

Student motivation to learn is often the main challenge in the learning process, seen from students' lack of attention to the material presented, low active participation, and reluctance to complete assignments. Effective education requires a creative, active, and contextual approach to creating meaningful learning experiences. One potential approach is to utilize the school environment as a learning resource. The school environment, such as parks, gardens, play facilities, and other elements, can be a real and contextual learning medium, allowing students to connect theory with practice. This research aims to analyze the implementation of the use of the school environment in increasing MI students' learning motivation in science subjects, especially environmental material. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, where data is collected through literature studies from various sources such as books, journals and scientific articles. The research results show that the school environment can be used to improve students' cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills, while making learning more enjoyable and effective. Environment-based learning also helps students understand science material, such as healthy and unhealthy environments, more easily. However, there are challenges in its implementation, such as limited school facilities and lack of teacher creativity. This research recommends strategies to maximize the positive impact of using the school environment in supporting student learning motivation holistically.

Abstract

Quality education depends not only on the material taught, but also on the way it is delivered. One of the main challenges in the learning process is keeping students active and engaged. Student activeness is important as it can improve their understanding, thinking skills and creativity. However, many students tend to be passive in learning. To overcome this, more innovative and interactive methods are needed, one of which is Mind Mapping. Mind Mapping is a visual organisation of ideas technique that helps students understand complex concepts, plan tasks, and connect information. The application of Mind Mapping in class IV can have a significant impact in increasing student activeness by stimulating creative and critical thinking. This article discusses the application of Mind Mapping as an effort to increase the activeness of grade IV students, including the basic concepts, how to apply it in learning, as well as the benefits and challenges faced by teachers and students. The use of Mind Mapping not only makes it easier for students to organise and recall information, but also enhances collaboration, creativity and learning independence. However, challenges such as difficulty in explaining concepts to students and limited creativity need to be overcome to maximise the effectiveness of this method.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Smart Box-Panca learning media based on Madurology on the learning interest of second-grade students in learning the values of Pancasila. The research employed a quantitative approach using a One Group Pretest-Posttest design and involved second-grade students as respondents. Data were collected through learning interest questionnaires administered before and after the learning process and were supported by observations and documentation conducted during the implementation of the learning activities. The analysis was carried out to identify changes in students’ learning interest as well as the extent of the media’s contribution to such changes. The results indicate that the Smart Box–Panca media significantly increased students’ learning interest, as the media was designed with attractive visuals, interactive features, and activities that actively engaged students in the learning process. The integration of Madurese cultural elements through the Madurology approach also helped students feel closer to the learning material, making the learning experience more meaningful and less monotonous. The findings show that the use of Smart Box–Panca media based on Madurology significantly improved students’ learning interest, as evidenced by an increase in the mean learning interest score from 17.84 in the pretest to 31.29 in the posttest, with a mean difference of 13.44 points and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Furthermore, simple linear regression analysis revealed that the use of Smart Box-Panca media based on Madurology contributed 12.9% to the improvement of students’ learning interest. These findings confirm that creative learning media aligned with children’s developmental stages constitute an effective strategy for enhancing learning interest in elementary education. This study is important as it provides measurable empirical evidence of the effectiveness of culture-based learning media and opens opportunities for the development of similar media in other subjects and learning contexts.

Abstract

Learning Islamic Cultural History (SKI) at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level still requires instructional media that can optimally enhance students’ engagement and understanding. This study aimed to design and develop a motion-based teaching aid integrated with educational games for use in SKI learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were 22 sixth-grade students of MI Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Seblak Jombang. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of the developed instructional media. The results showed that the motion-based teaching aid integrated with educational games was considered highly feasible and effective for use in SKI learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. This was indicated by the expert validation results with a feasibility percentage of 91%, and the students’ responses, with an average percentage of 88.6%. Both of which fall into the “very feasible” category. The use of this media increased student engagement, supported better understanding of SKI materials, and created a more interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere. Therefore, the motion based teaching aid integrated with educational games is suitable for use as an innovative instructional medium in SKI learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.

Abstract

This research aims to enhance the activeness and quality of the IPAS learning process by applying the Make a Match learning model to grade V students at MI Miftahul Huda Watuaji 02. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) approach, which is carried out in two cycles, with the research subjects of all grade V students. The study's results showed a significant improvement in the quality of the learning process and student learning activities. The average percentage of teachers' teaching activities increased from 71.55% in the first cycle with the fair category to 94.11% in the second cycle with the good category. Student learning activity has also increased, as shown by an average percentage increase from 67.72% in the first cycle to 82.69% in the second cycle, in the good category. The application of the Make a Match model can create an active, interactive, and fun learning atmosphere, thereby encouraging students to be more confident, dare to speak their minds, and be optimally involved in the learning process. Thus, the Make a Match model is effectively used as an alternative to IPAS learning strategies to improve the activeness and quality of the learning process of elementary school students.
