<![CDATA[In the City of Batam the Enforcement of Regional Laws is regulated in Regional Regulation No. 1 of 2016 concerning No-Smoking Areas. In Article 3 the stipulation of KTR aims to provide protection from the dangers of cigarette smoke for passive smokers, families, communities and the environment. Even though there is already a regulation that regulates everything that is related, there is still a violation. This research was conducted in order to find out how the role of the Civil Service Unit in supervising No-Smoking Areas according to Regional Regulation No. 1 of 2016 concerning No-Smoking Areas. And what are the obstacles and efforts made by the Civil Service Unit. In this study the authors used a judicial approach to empirical juridical approach with descriptive analytical research. From the results of the research, it can be seen that First, in Article 3, Article 5, and Article 27, it is clear that there is a prohibition against smoking, selling, and sanctions. A total of 62 cases occurred in 2018 until 2019. Second, the obstacle faced by the Civil Service Unit was that there were many interventions from the people who felt it was their right to smoke. Third, the efforts made by the Civil Service Unit to provide more insight to the community about the impact they have on passive smokers and impose severe sanctions on violators. It can be concluded that the role of the Civil Service Unit is not optimal because there are still many people who do not know about the prohibition of No-Smoking Areas.]]>

<![CDATA[ABSTRACT The problem in PT Harapan Jaya Sentosa is quite high, the reason there are still many employees who do not obey the rules of safety such as not using personal protective equipment, wear occupational health safety equipment is not appropriate, not obedient to the work procedures, and do the work that does not comply with its employees. The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of occupational health safety and work discipline on the employee's performance at PT Harapan Jaya Sentosa. This research uses quantitative methods. and use simple random sampling technique. The formula used to determine the sample count is to use the Slovin formula with an error rate of 5%. The study used multiple linear regression analysis methods, with a sample count of 102 respondents. The measurement and scale measurement methods in this study use the Likert scale. Data collection using questionnaires, with the help of SPSS version 26 program. The results of the study showed that partial occupational health safety has a significant impact on employee performance, indicated by T Count of 6.917 > T table 1.984 sig. 0.000 < 0.05. Then the work discipline is significant to the performance of employees with the T count of 10.611 > T table 1.984 with the level of sig. 0.000 < 0.05. Then occupational health safety and work discipline significantly affect employees ' performance simultaneously demonstrated by the value of F count 121,628 > 3.08 with significance rate of 0.000 < 0.05. <![CDATA[It is a common phenomenon for people in using pragmatics in their daily communication. People tend to express themselves implicitly with intention which is discussed in illocutionary acts. The intention are such as commanding, informing, expressing themselves and so on. Illocutionary acts that was developed by Searle (1976) has five types, representative/(assertive), directive, commissive, expressive and declaration. One of the types that often be used is directive which is classified into few classes such as command, beg, advise and request. This research was aimed to analyzed the classes and the frequency of directive speech acts that are uttered by the characters in”Cinderella” movie. This research was analyzed by applying descriptive qualitative method which is explained in words, phrases and sentences. The data will be collected from the characters’ utterance in “Cinderella” movie. The researcher used observational method, non-participatory and note taking technique method in collecting the data. The result of this research showed that the characters in “Cinderella” movie used all classes of directive speech acts. The most frequently used is command which had 36 data (69,2%) meanwhile the least used is request which had only 1 data (1,9%).]]>

<![CDATA[Communication is a form of verbal use that people talk about one another. The purpose of communication is to provide information to others. Communication is fundamental, so people need to communicate with others. A well interaction requires the fundamental of politeness to unite communication methods and will provide information to others. Using politeness, can make the interaction avoid ambiguity and will give a good response between the speaker and the listener. But in this research, the researcher will only focus on one of the strategies which is called as Seeking Agreement. The method that the researcher has been using in this research is descriptive qualitative method which is explain by word, sentences or even phrases. The researcher uses observational method and non-participatory as a method in collecting the data. In analyzing the data, the researcher uses pragmatics identity method. <![CDATA[Abstract This research primarily focused on violation maxims of cooperative principle on comment in Joel Osteen’s quote in Facebook by using Grace’s theory. This research applied descriptive qualitative method to examine the utterance of comments in Joel’s quote by using observational method and non-participatory technique and as the way collecting the data. The finding data of the research showed; violation of maxim (for telling the rightness, stating, describing, acknowledgment and giving information), the violation of the maxim quantity (for giving information and acceptance), the violation of the maxim relation (for supporting, conclusion, truth, and the importance) and the violation of maxim manner (for asking opinion, encouragement and appointment). The violation of each maxim occurs for some purposes and reasons based on the context and topic.]]>

<![CDATA[Foundations have fubctions and objectifes in the social field, one of the main focuses is education. Founded foundations that have full roles and responsibilities in managing them must fulfill the requirements in law number 28 of 2004 concerning Foundations. The purpose of thus study is to describe and analyze and find out (1) the social funtion of establishing a Foundation in accodance with law no. 28/2004 on Foundations, (2) the forms of foundation activities that are permitted in the law of profit. <![CDATA[Penelitian ini bertunjuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pendapatan usaha serta biaya operasional terhadap laba bersih pada perusahaan konstruksi di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode tahun 2015-2019. Diketahui bahwa variabel dependen merupakan pendapatan usaha serta biaya operasional, sedangkan variabel independent merupakan laba bersih. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu 16 perusahaan dipilih menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Jenis data dipakai berupa data sekunder sehingga data berupa lapora keuangan tahunan didapatkan dari Bursa Efek Indonesia. Metode penelitian ini memakai metode kuantitatif dikarenakan berupa data laporan keuangan. Penelitian ini memakai analisis regresi linier berganda serta sampel sebanyak 8 (delapan) perusahaan kontruksi di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) berupa laporan keuangan dari periode tahun 2015-2019. Data laporan keuangan didapatkan dari web Bursa Efek Indonesia (www.idx.co.id). Alat analisis yang digunakan pada penelitian merupakan program SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions) versi 25. Berdasarkan hasil uji t, bahwa secara parsial pendapatan usaha berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap laba bersih dengan thitung 6,088 > ttabel 2,026 serta biaya operasional tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap laba bersih dengan thitung 0,915 < ttabel 2,026. Lalu dimana hasil uji F secara simultan, bahwa pendapatan usaha serta biaya operasional berpengaruh terhadap laba bersih, dengan menghasilkan nilai Fhitung 103,991 > Ftabel 3,252. Nilai R square (R2) dalam penelitian ini menerangkan bahwa variasi perubahan pendapatan usaha serta biaya operasional berpengaruh terhadap laba bersih sebesar 84,1%. Sedangkan sisanya 15,9% dapat dikatakan dalam hal lain atau dikatakan diluar variabel penelitian ini.]]>

<![CDATA[The conditions in the globalization era consistently increase and ultimately influence the dicipline, so that strong motivation is needed from the company to all employees so that they continue to provide maximum performance. The purpose of this study is related to the influence of discipline and motivation on the performance of the employees of PT Global Bangunan Seraya in Batam City. The quantitative type of data processed comes from the correspondent's answers regarding the questionnaire and with a total of 118 correspondents. According to the results of the study, the variables derived from discipline and motivation influence the performance variables of employees 18,42 percent and 81,58 percent of other variables. Then occurs or the presence of a positive influence derived from some variables from discipline to the performance variable of the employee with a large enough and occurs or the presence of a positive effect that comes from some variable from the motivation to the performance variable from the employee with a large enough and occurs or the influence which comes from the discipline variable and from the motivation variable simultaneously to the performance variable of the employee with a large enough.]]>

<![CDATA[As a form of mass media, movie can also depicts reality as well as putting new values to the society. Parasite is a movie that promote moral values that applicable to the everyday life. In every scenes shown in this movie, it is believed the writers of the movie wanted to deliver meanings and also values to the audience. This research is about what moral values there are in the movie using roland barthes’s semiotik analysis theory to describe the values in symbols that shown in the movie. There are so many lessons and meanings that made the audience intrigued and learned about the values of life in every scenes of the movie. The result shows values about relationship with ourselves and with each other. Presumably, the values presented can be used as a lesson to be positive about daily life and deeper knowing about good values. Based on the description above, the writer is interested to do a research focused on the verbal messages shown in the parasite movie.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to determine whether liquidity and profitability ratios effect both partially and simultaneously the profit growth of mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The company’s main goal is to maximize profits. For companies, profits are needed because they are beneficial for the survival of the company. One of the company’s perfomance parameters is profit. The profits generated by the company experience changes in profits each year so that it can effect investment decisions on investors. Profit growth is an increase or decrease in profit per year. The ratio used in this research is the current ratio, net profit margin, gross profit margin. The analysis technique used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis. The conclusion is the results of the study show that partially the current ratio and net profit margin influence the profit growth with the significance value of each ratio namely the current ratio of 0,007 and net profit margin of 0,016. While the gross profit margin partially has no effect on profit growth with a significance value of 0,855 gross profit margin.simultaneously cureent ratio, net profit margin, gross profit margin significantly influence profit growth with a significance value of 0,001.]]>
