Abstract

Abstract: The background of this study is the lack of ability of the child in listening skills, some children may not be able to mimic back 3-4 order of words, some children may not be able to sort the contents of the picture and tells a simple, some children may not be able to retell the story in a simple , Therefore, efforts need to be able to improve listening skills of children is through storytelling with a big book. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase listening skills of children through storytelling with big method book and to know the high increase occurred. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two (2) cycles. Data collection tool used in this study is in the form of sheets of observation and research subject is a group consisting of 8 boys and 7 girls. The results showed an increase from cycle I to cycle II. Improvement occurred, ie from before the action to the first cycle of 34.58%, the first cycle to the second cycle of 35.43%, and increased from the prior cycle to cycle II of 82.27%. From these results obtained CONCLUSIONS that through storytelling with big book can improve listening skills of children at Tk Ar-Raasyidin Parit Aman District of Bangko Rokan Hilir.Keywords: Listening, storytelling with a big book

Abstract

ASI eksklusif adalah pemberian ASI tanpa makanan dan minuman tambahan lainnya pada bayi berumur 0-6 bulan.Penelitian  ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan dan dukungan keluarga terhadap pemberian ASI eksklusif di Desa Cot Buket Kecamatan Peusangan Kabupaten Bireuen.Jenis penelitian adalah survey analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Cot Buket dari tanggal 16-21 Juni 2019. Populasi adalah seluruh ibu yang memiliki bayi usia 7-11 bulan. Teknikpengambilan sampel secara Total Sampling, dengan jumlah sampel 30 orang. Hasil uji statistik chi-square menunjukkan adapengaruh yang bermakna antara pengetahuan dengan pemberianASI eksklusif dengan nilai p (0,002) < α (0,05). Dan hasiluji statistic chi-square juga menunjukkan ada pengaruh bermakna antara dukungan keluarga denganpemberian ASI eksklusif dengan nilaipengujian p (0,011) < α (0,05).Diharap kan bagi orang tua dan keluarga terutama ibu untuk dapat memberikan ASI eksklusif  kepada bayinya selama 6 bulan untuk mencapai tumbuh kembang yang optimal dan diharapkan bagi tenaga kesehatan agar dapat memberikan penyuluhan tentang pentingnya pemberian ASI eksklusif sehingga banyak ibu yang mengetahui bahwa ASI eksklusif lebih baik dari pada susu formula. Kata Kunci: Pengetahuan, Dukungan Keluarga, Pemberian ASI eksklusif.

Abstract

A Pro-life event held by Student for Life turned chaotic. This phenomenon can be attributed to the occurrence of negative impoliteness strategies, which attack one’s negative face-wants. This research is aimed to analyze the strategies and the functions of negative impoliteness in the event. This research is descriptive-qualitative, using observational and non-participatory techniques for the data collection. The collected data were analyzed according to the theory of Culpeper (1996, 2011) for the strategies of negative impoliteness and their functions. The results showed that there were negative impoliteness strategies done by the pro-choice audience to frighten, condescend, ridicule, scorn, invade, explicitly associate with negative aspects, and hinder the pro-life speakers and members, which were functioning as coercive and affective impoliteness, consequently turned the event chaotic. They knew and were able to act polite, but decided not to. Arguments aside, both parties should have engaged in a professional and mature attitude.

Abstract

Gender inequality is the unequal allocation of opportunities and rights, among people of various genders. This commonly works against one gender, typically women. This research aims to analyze Louisa May Alcott's "Little Women" with a focus on gender inequality. A qualitative approach was used in this study. This study also used theory from Fakih (2008). The findings indicated that the novel describes five different forms of gender discrimination. The first is subordination, show that Jo cannot do anything she want because of her status as women. Second, stereotypes, when a woman behaves unfavorably or imitates a man, she will be perceived as a bad woman, like what Jo did because she always do the boyish tricks. Third, marginalization, show by Jo character that can be the backbone of his family when their father go to the war. Fourth, burden of work, where the Jo and also her sibling not only work to earn money, they also work at home to clean the house. For the last form, which is violence, it did not happen in the novel. In order to rouse women at the time, gender injustice was brought up in "Little Women," and as a result, the subject came to represent the state of American society at that time. The conversation and utterances of the characters make it clear that the female characters struggle to fit in with society.

Abstract

The ability to speak English is one of the skills that students must have as a skill that can be used in the workforce. In the world of work, students who have graduated are required to have skills in communicating in English, and discussing communication, students are also expected to understand communication literacy. Many are good at speaking English but sometimes lack direction and lack knowledge about communication literacy. On this occasion, Putera Batam University lecturers held training for Putra Jaya Vocational School students. This training uses a lecture method combined with a question and answer session. This training is delivered directly by lecturers who are experts in their fields, namely English Literature and Legal Studies. This training is very important because some companies set English language standards because the ability to communicate using English is important for students' careers and students must have this ability to be able to survive in the midst of competition. Apart from that, you must be wise and clever in communication literacy. The results obtained from this service found that many students lacked confidence when asked to speak in front and did not understand legal literacy. After the service was carried out, it could be seen that students showed the need for practice in building self-confidence and students' understanding of legal literacy.

Abstract

Kata is a significant thing in karate, the aim of this service is to form the young generation of karate and become athletes who excel, especially KATA or karate moves and to form kohai-kohai performances in playing kata, especially kata hean sandan. Kata hean sandan is the third basic kata in karate and is usually played by karateka who hold a yellow to green belt. This kata is also competed in festival and open classes. Apart from that, practicing kata to form the kihon or basic movements of an athlete, when playing this kata you will see the perfect kihon form. Besides that, kata can train and improve a karateka's concentration. The theory used in this analysis is Nakayama's theory, (1979). The method used in this analysis is the direct field survey method. This method will observe the forms of movement carried out by kohai-kohai karate. This method will also act directly and revise movements that are deemed inappropriate. The result of this method is that the kohai's movements immediately change to a better shape.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah kegiatan berupa pelatihan tentang Percakapan Bahasa Inggris, Dasar bagi Siswa-siswi SMAN 27 Aviari – Batuaji – Batam. Pelatihan yang diselenggarakan oleh Prodi Bahasa Inggris dan bekerja sama dengan pihak sekolah SMAN 27 tersebut. Materi pelatihan sudah disusun sedemikian rupa sehingga mampu setidaknya memberikan sedikit solusi bagi permasalahan siswa-siswi yang terjadi di zaman mileneal sekarang ini. Permasalahan-permasalahan tersebut antara lain, Siswa-siswi SMAN 27 Aviari kurang menguasai Bahasa Inggris dan mereka merasa tidak percaya diri dalam menggunakan Bahasa Inggris dalam komunikasi sehari-hari di lingkungan sekolah ataupun rumah. Pelatihan ini dilakukan mulai bulan November 2023 dan berakhir pada bulan Januari 2024 dengan sebanyak 5 pertemuan yang dilakukan secara berkala. Dari pelatihan ini dihapkan peserta pelatihan mendapatkan penyegaran peningkatan pengetahuan tentang penerapan percakapan Bahasa Inggris, Di akhir dari pelatihan ini peserta pelatihan diharapkan mampu berbicara Bahasa Inggris lisan dengan struktur yang sederhana, serta merasa percaya diri dalam menggunakan Bahasa Inggris sehari-hari.

Abstract

Storytelling is the scope of public speaking which concerns the way and art of speaking to other people or the public/audience. Therefore, telling stories requires repeated practice so that the speaker is confident and able to control himself and his audience. There are several things included in storytelling, namely MC/Host, Speech, Rhetoric, and so on. In conveying storytelling in public, you need skills in speaking and also literacy. Therefore, it is very important for speakers to master the material and stage by carrying out various kinds of training to develop literacy and grow self-confidence. To become a good speaker, you need to practice these two things. With storytelling training, speaking skills and literacy can be improved, especially for students in Batam, Riau Islands. This service looks at storytelling in improving students' speaking and literacy skills, exploring issues related to language learning and improving education. The design used is a qualitative research method. Data is collected through students' speaking and writing skills, as well as surveys and interviews with educators and students. In addition, community service activities are held to overcome barriers to language learning. Results showed that students who participated in storytelling activities showed significant improvements in speaking fluency, vocabulary use, and ability to compose detailed and clear literary descriptions.

Abstract

Abstract This study has target to find lexical cohesion in the text of a speech delivered by a controversial president, Donald Trump. The researcher also reveals several reasons why the writing problem is on lexical cohesion where cohesive devices play an important role in shaping a speech and the use of language that is organized and easily understood by others in delivering a speech will have an impact on communication that goes well, so as to avoid misunderstandings between speakers and listeners. Therefore, the method used in this research is qualitative and this descriptive qualitative research also used observational method and note taking technique. In supporting data collection techniques, researchers use the theory of Creswell (2018) and also support by Merriam &Tisdell (2016) .The next by Litosseliti (2010). The lexical cohesion proposed by Matthienssen & Halliday, (2014) has several types of lexical cohesion consist of repetition, synonymy, antonymy, hyponymy, and meronymy. For the results of data analysis, there are 50 repetitions then 1 hyponymy then 1 meronym, 2 synonyms, and finally 1 antonym. Keywords: Speech Script, Cohesion, Lexical cohesion, Qualitative

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Program Kesehatan Ibu dan Anak (KIA) merupakan salah satu prioritas utama pembangunan kesehatan di indonesia. Program ini bertanggung jawab terhadap pelayanan kesehatan bagi ibu hamil, ibu bersalin, dan bayi neonatal. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Faktor Yang Berhubungan Dengan Pemanfaatan Buku Kesehatan Ibu Dan Anak (KIA) Pada Ibu Hamil Di Desa Blang Kuta 2 Meunasah Kecamatan Simpang Mamplam Kabupaten Bireuen Tahun 2023. Metode: Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Cross Sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini seluruh ibu hamil sebanyak 41 orang dan sampel yang diambil dengan menggunakan Total Sampling yaitu sebanyak 41 orang. Metode pengumpulan data yaitu data primer, sekunder dan tersier. Analisa data yang digunakan yaitu  analisis univariat dan bivariat dengan uji chi-square. Hasil: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan ibu dengan nilai sig-p 0,003 < 0,05), sikap dengan nilai sig-p 0,003 < 0,05, peran petugas kesehatan dengan nilai sig-p 0,024, dan dukungan keluarga dengan nilai sig-p 0,001 <  0,05 dengan ketepatan kunjungan  Ante natal Care. Kesimpulan : Adapun kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil ada hubungan pengetahuan ibu, Sikap, peran petugas kesehatan, dukungan keluargadengan  Pemanfaatan Buku Kesehatan Ibu dan Anak (KIA). Diharapkan kepada ibu hamil untuk meningkatkan wawasan dan ilmu pengetahuan tentang ibu hamil pentingnya membawa atau memanfaatkan buku Kesehatan Ibu dan Anak pada saat melakukan kunjungan ibu hamil.Kata Kunci:    Pengetahuan, Sikap, peran petugas kesehatan, dukungan keluarga, buku Kesehatan Ibu dan AnakIntroduction: The Maternal and Child Health (KIA) Program is one of the main priorities for health development in Indonesia. This program is responsible for health services for pregnant women, mothers giving birth and neonates. The aim of this research is to determine factors related to the use of maternal and child health books (KIA) among pregnant women in Blang Kuta 2 Meunasah Village, Simpang Mamplam District, Bireuen Regency in 2023. Method: The research design used is cross sectional. The population in this study were all 41 pregnant women and the sample taken using Total Sampling was 41 people. Data collection methods are primary, secondary and tertiary data. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis with the chi-square test. Results: Based on the research results, it shows that maternal knowledge has a sig-p value of 0.003 < 0.05), attitudes have a sig-p value of 0.003 < 0.05, the role of health workers has a sig-p value of 0.024, and family support has a sig-p value of p 0.001 < 0.05 with the accuracy of Ante Natal Care visits. Conclusion: The conclusions in this study show that there is a relationship between maternal knowledge, attitudes, the role of health workers, family support and the use of Maternal and Child Health Books (KIA). It is hoped that pregnant women will increase their insight and knowledge about the importance of bringing or using the Maternal and Child Health book when visiting pregnant women.Keywords : Knowledge, attitude, role of health workers, family support, Maternal and Child Health books
