Abstract

Backgrund: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic condition marked by persistently high blood sugar levels. Chronic inflammation in blood vessels is a significant concern, leading to cardiovascular complications. Pharmacological therapies have side effects, and non-pharmacological therapies are gaining interest. This study aimed to identify effective non-pharmacological therapies to reduce vascular inflammation in T2DM patients and understand their mechanisms. Methods: A narrative literature review was conducted, searching articles published between 2015 and 2025 in PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. Inclusion criteria were studies on T2DM patients, written in English or Indonesian, and meeting quality thresholds. Results: The search identified 1152 articles. After a multi-step screening process following the PRISMA framework, a final set of articles was selected for analysis. The review identified various non-pharmacological therapies, including physical therapy interventions (FIR therapy, acupuncture, hydrotherapy), exercise training (HIIT with RT, MCT with RT, yoga), and lifestyle/nutritional interventions (diabetes education, MNT, yoga). These therapies improved blood circulation, reduced inflammation markers, enhanced metabolic function, and improved glycemic control. Discussion: Non-pharmacological therapies offer promising strategies for managing T2DM. FIR therapy

Abstract

Introduction, Nursing quality is a crucial aspect of healthcare that affects patient safety, satisfaction, and overall service efficiency. This study employs a bibliometric approach to analyze global research trends on nursing quality, identifying influential authors, institutions, and key thematic developments in the field. Methods, This study conducted a bibliometric analysis using research articles indexed in Scopus. Data collection was performed using specific keywords related to nursing quality, with defined inclusion and exclusion criteria to ensure the relevance of the selected publications. The analysis focused on identifying research productivity by year, leading authors, citation impact, country contributions, and thematic trends. Results, The bibliometric analysis identified seven key findings: (1) an increasing trend in nursing quality research over the past two decades, (2) dominant contributions from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, (3) highly cited articles primarily focusing on patient safety, evidence-based practice, and nursing competence, (4) leading journals such as Journal of Nursing Management and International Journal of Nursing Studies, (5) major institutional contributions from universities in North America and Europe, (6) key funding sources supporting research development, and (7) gaps in research output between developed and developing countries. The thematic analysis identified several key themes in nursing quality research, including patient safety and risk management, evidence-based nursing practices, quality improvement in healthcare institutions, professional competency development, nursing leadership and management, and policy implications for nursing standards. These themes reflect the evolving priorities and challenges in improving nursing quality worldwide. Discussion,The results indicate that research on nursing quality continues to expand, emphasizing patient-centered care, technological advancements, and evidence-based interventions. However, disparities persist in research output and collaboration between high-income and low-income countries. Strengthening global cooperation and enhancing accessibility to research resources is essential for advancing nursing quality on a broader scale.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the validity and reliability of a therapeutic communication questionnaire used with cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Therapeutic communication is a crucial element in patient recovery and an integral part of nursing practice. A quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design was applied, involving 100 patients at RSPAU Dr. S. Hardjolukito, Yogyakarta. The instrument consisted of 20 items adapted from Rizky Hardhiyani (2013). Validity testing showed that all items had a correlation coefficient (r) greater than the critical value (0.196), ranging from 0.203 to 0.412, and were therefore deemed valid. Reliability testing yielded a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.663, meeting the minimum reliability threshold (>0.60). Thus, this questionnaire is considered a valid and reliable instrument for assessing therapeutic communication in cancer patients.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the degenerative diseases that is often experienced by the elderly and can cause serious complications such as stroke and heart disease. Non-pharmacological treatments such as ergonomic gymnastics and spiritual therapy through murottal Al-Qur'an can be an alternative to help lower blood pressure. This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of ergonomic gymnastics and murottal Surah Ar-Rahman on lowering blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. The research design used was one group pre-posttest design. The sample consisted of 36 elderly with hypertension. The intervention carried out was ergonomic gymnastics while listening to murottal Surah Ar-Rahman for 30 minutes, three times a week for four weeks (January 9-February 9, 2025). Blood pressure measurements were taken before and after the intervention. The results showed a significant decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure (p <0.000). The combination of gymnastics and murottal is effective in lowering blood pressure in elderly hypertensive patients. This intervention can be used as a holistic and religious complementary therapy option in the care of the elderly with hypertension

Abstract

This literature review explores interventions for postpartum blues, a condition that affects up to 80% of new mothers. A systematic analysis was conducted on research published between 2010 and 2024, sourced from PubMed, CINAHL, and PsycINFO databases. Of the 1,247 initial articles, 72 met the inclusion criteria following a comprehensive screening process. The findings indicate that psychosocial interventions, particularly peer support and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), provide the most substantial evidence for effectiveness. Additionally, emerging approaches, including hormonal treatments, nutritional supplementation, and technology-based support, show promising potential. The review also highlights the need for standardized outcome measures, longer-term studies, and culturally adapted interventions. The results advocate for implementing personalized, multimodal approaches and integrating these interventions into routine perinatal care. This review makes a significant contribution to evidence-based practices aimed at supporting maternal mental health during the critical postpartum period.
