Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to improve the reading skills of Grade II students at SD Negeri 26 Tanjung Raja through a structured phonics method. The study used Kurt Lewin's action research model, which consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research was conducted in two cycles involving 26 students as the research subjects. Data were collected through a diagnostic reading test, reading performance tests, observation sheets, and teacher reflection notes. The data were analyzed descriptively by comparing students' mean scores, mastery percentages, reading speed, and blending accuracy across the pretest, Cycle I, and Cycle II. The findings showed a consistent improvement in students' reading skills. The mean reading score increased from 55.38 in the pretest to 69.80 in Cycle I and 81.30 in Cycle II. Classical learning mastery increased from 26.9% at the initial stage to 65.4% in Cycle I and 92.3% in Cycle II. Reading speed also improved from 5.1 words per minute to 15.7 words per minute, while blending accuracy reached 89.6% at the end of Cycle II. These results indicate that the structured use of phonics, supported by sound cards, phonemic songs, and repeated blending practice, helped students recognize phoneme-grapheme relationships and read words more accurately. The findings are limited to the classroom context studied and should be interpreted as evidence of improvement through classroom action rather than as a controlled test of effectiveness.

Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to improve fifth-grade students' learning outcomes in mathematics, particularly on solid geometry, through the implementation of the Window Shopping cooperative learning model. The study was conducted in Class VB of SDN 02 Tanjung Batu during the 2024/2025 academic year with 20 students as participants. The research followed the Kemmis and McTaggart action research cycle, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection, and was implemented in two cycles. Data were collected using student activity observation sheets and learning outcome tests consisting of ten short-answer items administered during the pre-action stage and at the end of each cycle. The data were analyzed descriptively by calculating mean scores, mastery percentages, and observation percentages. The results showed that the mean score increased from 66.00 in the pre-action stage to 78.00 in Cycle I and 80.50 in Cycle II. The percentage of students achieving the minimum mastery criterion increased from 50% to 75% and then to 90%. Student activity also improved from 61.1% in Cycle I, categorized as sufficient, to 83.3% in Cycle II, categorized as good. These findings indicate that the Window Shopping model can improve students' learning outcomes and participation in learning solid geometry through collaborative discussion, peer tutoring, and gallery-based learning activities.

Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to improve the cognitive learning outcomes of Grade XI-D students at MAN 1 Pamekasan through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in Biology instruction. The study employed the Kemmis and McTaggart action research model in two cycles involving 26 students. The action focused on Biology topics with comparable cognitive demands, namely the immune system and the endocrine system. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, observation sheets, field notes, and documentation. The test consisted of items representing cognitive levels C1-C4 and was assessed using a scoring rubric. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, mastery percentages, a paired-sample t-test, and Cohen's d. The mean score increased from 67.8 in Cycle I to 80.4 in Cycle II, while mastery increased from 53.8% (14 students) to 88.5% (23 students). The paired-sample t-test showed a significant improvement, t(25) = 4.97, p < 0.001, with a large effect size (d = 0.974). Classroom observations indicated improved participation after clearer instructions, role distribution, teacher scaffolding, and better time management in Cycle II. These findings indicate that PBL can improve Biology learning outcomes and support active, collaborative learning.

Abstract

This study aimed to accelerate students' Qur'anic literacy skills through the implementation of a gamification-based Talaqqi method. The research was motivated by the ability gap among Grade 7G students at SMPN 1 Karawang Barat, where most students were still at the beginner level and experienced difficulties in makharij al-huruf accuracy, consistency of mad duration, and learning motivation. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The subjects consisted of 42 students, and the research procedures included planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data collection instruments included observation sheets and a Qur'an reading skill assessment rubric. The results showed a significant improvement in students' Qur'anic literacy. The class average score increased sharply from 58 in Cycle I to 94 in Cycle II. By the end of the study, all 42 students (100%) had reached the Proficient (Mahir) level. The integration of gamification elements such as XP (Experience Points), leaderboards through the ScoreLeader website, and badges proved effective in increasing students' motivation, confidence, and mental resilience in learning the Qur'an. This study concludes that combining the disciplined traditional Talaqqi method with modern game elements can create an interactive and effective learning ecosystem for improving the quality of students' Qur'an recitation.

Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to improve students' understanding of Islamic banking materials through interactive learning in Grade X at MAN 1 Gresik. The study involved 34 students in the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year and followed the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection in two cycles. The interactive learning action was implemented through quartet-card learning activities in Cycle I and concept-map construction in Cycle II as an improvement based on reflection. Data were collected through pretest and posttest activities, student-activity observation sheets, student-response questionnaires, and documentation. The data were analyzed descriptively using mean scores, the number of students who met the minimum mastery criterion (75), and the percentage of learning mastery. The results showed an increase in students' understanding from a pretest mean score of 54.2 with 11.8% mastery (4 of 34 students), to 72.4 with 61.8% mastery in Cycle I (21 students), and to 86.1 with 91.2% mastery in Cycle II (31 students). These findings indicate that the interactive learning action achieved the success indicator and supported improved participation, motivation, and conceptual understanding of Islamic banking.
