Abstract

The purpose of this study was to know about: (1) implementation of character education on student of Skills Competency Light Vehicle Engineering SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta; (2) the results of implementation of character education on student of Skills Competency Light Vehicle Engineering SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta. This research used descriptive qualitative method and the design used single case study at SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta. Research subjects were students of Skills Competency Light Vehicle Engineering SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta, as many as 316 students. The research sample as many as 11 students for interview and 87 for questionnaire. Sampling technique was purposive sampling. Data collection techniques used were questionnaire, interview, observation, and documentary method. Testing of the validity instrument was conducted based on the Pearson's Product Moment Correlation. Reliability test instrument used Cronbach's Alpha. The result of this research were: (1) Principal, Vice Principal of Academy Field, Vice Principal of Studentships Field, Vice Principal of Human Resource Development, Vice Principal of School Public Relations Field, Guidance Counselor Teachers and Productive Teachers of Skill Competency Light Vehicle Engineering SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta has implemented a character education systematically to students, especially students of Skill Competency Light Vehicle Engineering, which is a lesson plans and syllabus; (2) implementation of character education is also conducted continuously by the teacher SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta in the form of 3S Program, the training and education of VEDC Malang, P3G Bandung, P4TK Bandung and from the Provincial of Central Java; (3) implementation of character education through co-curricular activities and extracurricular; (4) results showed that students' character of Skill Competency Light Vehicle Engineering SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta average is 77.46%. Students of Skill Competency Light Vehicle Engineering SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta has good character. In addition, there are students who have not been well characterized because it is not strong in having some of the main characters, such as Responsibility and Self-Discipline characters; (5) condition students of Skill Competency Light Vehicle Engineering SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta who do not already have eight main characters have a low level of discipline, lack of initiative, lack of responsibility, and lack of respect for others; (6) condition students of Skill Competency Light Vehicle Engineering SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta which has eight main characters are more disciplined, have initiative, responsible, helpful and growing affection, respect for others and good at gratitude.

Abstract

Purposes of the research are to: (1) know effect of electrolyzer application with varied diameters of copper wire on CO and HC exhaust gas emissions of  Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125D 2007; (2) know effect of electrolyzer application with varied solutions on CO and HC exhaust gas emissions of  Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125D 2007; (3) know effect of electrolyzer application with varied diameters of copper wire and varied solutions on CO and HC exhaust gas emissions of  Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125D 2007. The research is a quantitative one with experimental method. Sample of the research is motorcycle Honda Supra X 125D 2007 with machine number of JB51E2015321. The research was performed in Automotive Laboratory of Machine Engineer Education Program of Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Sebelas Maret University of Surakarta assisted by Gas Analyzer Technotes type STARGAS 898 instrument. Data is obtained from CO and HC exhaust gas emissions of the motorcycle with addition of an electrolyzer tube containing varied diameters of copper wire and varied solutions. The data is listed on tables and presented in form of graphics, and then, they are analyzed. Results of the research indicated that: (1) the use of electrolyzer with varied diameters of copper wire had effect on CO and HC exhaust gas emissions of Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125D 2007,based from the measurement data shows that the CO exhaust gas emission levels lower than before the use of electrolysis and HC exhaust gas emissions levels higher than before the use of electrolysis. (2) The use of varied kind of solutions of the electrolyzer was also affecting CO and HC exhaust gas emissions of Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125D 2007,basedfrom the measurement data shows that the CO exhaust gas emission levels lower than before the use of electrolysis and HC exhaust gas emissions levels higher than before the use of electrolysis. (3) the use of electrolyzer with varied diameters of copper wire and varied kind of solutionswas also affecting CO and HC exhaust gas emissions of Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125D2007, based from the measurement data shows that the CO exhaust gas emission levels lower than before the use of electrolysis and HC exhaust gas emissions levels higher than before the use of electrolysis. The conclusions of this study is the use of electrolyzer with varied diameters of copper wire and varied kind ofsolutions  can reduce CO exhaust gas emissions Honda Supra X 125D 2007 the lowest CO exhaust gas emissions is in the amount of 0.072% from 1.669% without the use of electrolysis or down by 95.68% but increase HC exhaust gas emissions Honda Supra X 125D2007 which is an increase of at least 626.667 ppm is from the condition without elektrliser 605 ppmor increased 4.07%. Results of exhaust gas emissions of CO and HC are the best in the can on the use of copper wire of 1.5 mm diameter with KOH solution. the use of electrolyzer with varied diameters of copper wire and varied kind of solutionswas also affecting CO and HC exhaust gas emissions of Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125D 2007 where the lowest CO exhaust gas emissions 0.072 % and HC exhaust gas emissions at the least increase 626.667 ppm.

Abstract

Kualitas produk sangat menentukan tingkat keberhasilan suatu proses produksi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh parameter melt temperature dan nilai melt temperature yang menghasilkan produk dengan kualitas terbaik, serta kesesuaian antara software simulasi dengan aplikasi produksi di industri untuk desain parameter kerja melt temperature pada proses injection molding produk plastik Polypropylene (PP).            Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan analisis kualitas produk injection molding (Spion PS 135) menggunakan software Autodesk Inventor 2013, dengan memvariasikan parameter melt temperature. Beberapa variasi parameter melt temperature dieksekusi menggunakan mesin injection molding Haitian HTF 160X. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif.Data dan analisis hasil penelitian menunjukkan parameter melt temperature mempengaruhi total part weight, quality prediction, cacat shrinkage dan sink mark produk Spion PS 135. Quality prediction terbaik produk Spion PS 135 adalah pada parameter melt temperature 210s/d280°C, dengan kualitas terbaik pada nilai melt temperature 210°C dan 220°C. Analisis secara visual produk, menggunakan software Autodesk Inventor 2013, sesuai dengan hasil eksekusi menggunakan mesin injection molding.

Abstract

The purposes  of this study  are  to determines: (1)  the  variation  effect of silica sand  andwaterglass mixture through permeability for manufacturing core (nakago). (2) the variation effect of silica sand and waterglass mixture through compressive strength of the core (nakago) making.(3)  the  optimal  price  of  the  permeability  and  the  compressive  strength  of  the  core  (nakago) making.  This  research  was  conducted  at  the  Polytechnic  Metal  Testing  ManufacturingLaboratory  in  Ceper  using  primary  materials  such  as  silica  sand  and  waterglass.  The  research method used in this study  is  an experimental method. The independent variable in this study  wasthe waterglass  variations  in  5%,  15%,  20%,  and 25%  level,  and the  dependent variables  are  the permeability and compressive strength.Results  of  this  study  are:  (1)  The  addition  of  waterglass  at  5%  become  15%  level  is increase, while  the  15%  become  20%  and  20%  become  25%  are  decrease.  (2)  Increasing  in anumber of  waterglass  level  will increase  the compressing    strength.  (3)  Waterglass Variation  in the level of  5%,  15%,  20%,  and  25%  obtain a permeability  row  90.33,  139.33,  115.30,  91.22, and  the  compressive  strength  11.33,  12,  20,  12.93,  16.50.  The  smallest  permeability  of waterglass  occurred  at  5%  ie  90.33  and  compressive  strength  of  waterglass  occured  at  5%  ie11.33, while the  largest  permeability  of  waterglass  occurred  at 15%  ie  139.33  and  compressive strength of waterglass occured at 25% ie 16.33.

Abstract

The purpose of this research: (1) To investigate the rate of increase in battery temperature during charging using battery charger and weight reduction in Yuasa lead acid battery 12V 5Ah liquid vented type before giving Vitta-Q battery vitamin. (2) To investigate the rate of increase in battery temperature during charging using battery charger and weight reduction in Yuasa lead acid battery 12V 5Ah liquid vented type after giving Vitta-Q battery vitamin. Based on this research can be concluded: (1) The measurement on Yuasa lead acid battery 12V 5Ah liquid vented type before giving Vitta-Q battery vitamin during charging using battery charger resulted the temperature 49 oC and weight of electrolyte 209.5 gr in 230.0 gr electrolytes. (2) The measurement on Yuasa lead acid battery 12V 5Ah liquid vented type after giving 2 ml of Vitta - Q battery vitamin per cell during charging using battery charger resulted the lowest temperature 40.3 oC and weight of electrolyte 216.4 gr in 230.0 gr electrolytes. (3) The measurement on Yuasa lead acid battery 12V 5Ah liquid vented type after giving 3.5 ml of Vitta - Q battery vitamin per cell during charging using battery charger resulted the highest temperature 49.8 oC and weight of electrolyte 208.1 gr in 230.0 gr electrolytes.

Abstract

The research lead to conclusion that: (1) There is an effect of carburetor venturi diameter variation to power on motorcycle Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTS-I 2009. This is shown by the results of the test data analysis, that Fobservasi = 3520.48 greater than Ftabel = 3.83 (Fobservasi > Ftabel) at 1% significance level. (2) There is the influence of the type of spark plug in motorcycle Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTS-I 2009. This is shown by the results of the analysis of test data, that Fobservasi = 38452.50 greater than Ftabel = 4.31 (Fobservasi > Ftabel) at 1% significance level. (3) There is interaction the carburetor venturi diameter variation and types of spark plug to power the motorcycle Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTS-I 2009. This is shown by the results of the analysis of test data, that Fobservasi= 1193.78 greater than Ftabel = 2.66 (Fobservasi > Ftabel) at significance level 1%. Maximum power of 12.1 HP acquired in size diameter 32 mm venturi carburetor, varying kinds of spark plug Denso U20 EPR 9.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are: (1) To determine the chemical composition and aluminum alloy standard codification of cast wheel aluminum. (2) To determine the microstructure before and after welding with oxy - acetylene welding method with PWHT on the cast aluminum wheel. (3) To determine the level of hardness and level of impact strength before and after welding with oxy - acetylene welding method with PWHT on the cast wheel aluminum. The research was conducted in the laboratory INLASTEK Surakarta. The Object in this research used are aluminium cast wheels. Techniques of data analysis in this research using descriptive data analysis that is directly observed  experimental results and then analyzed and summing up the results of the research. As an input parameter in analyzing the data include:the testing of chemical composition, microstructure, hardness and impact. From  the research, we can conclude that  the  chemical composition on  aluminium  cast wheel including Aluminium  Silicon alloy,  because the element  Si alloy is the largest with 4.61% Si. Microstructure on  base metal granules the spread equally on the surface of  Al. Specimen hardness value of raw material is higher than oxy-acetylene welding specimens. The average value of raw material hardness results 42.69 BHN while the average value of oxy-acetylene  welding results 34.34 BHN. Average hardness oxy-acetylene welding specimens in the HAZ area 31.81 BHN. The average value of raw material impact results 0,092 J/mm² while the average value of oxy-acetylene welding results 0,078 J/mm². Post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) was effect on the mechanical properties and microstructural that characterized by nearly changes in the microstructure between the weld region, HAZ , and base material after PWHT process .

Abstract

  The purpose of this research are (1) To acquire knowledge about the correlation between teacher competencies with student learning achievement 11th grade SMK PGRI 1 Surakarta on academic year 2011/2012, (2) To acquire knowledge about the correlation between student learning motivation with student learning achievement 11th grade SMK PGRI 1 Surakarta on academic year 2011/2012, (3) To acquire knowledge about the togetherly relationship between teacher competencies and student learning motivation with student learning achievement 11th grade SMK PGRI 1 Surakarta on academic year 2011/2012. This research found that: (1) There is a positive relationship between teacher competencies with student learning achievement 11th grade SMK PGRI 1 Surakarta on academic year 2011/2012. This is proven by the results of first test hypotheses with analysis of correlation product moment obtained rcalculate 0,244 larger than rtable 0,213 at the 5% level of significance. (2) There is a positive relationship between student learning motivation with student learning achievement 11th grade SMK PGRI 1 Surakarta on academic year 2011/2012. This is proven by the results of second test hypotheses with analysis of correlation product moment obtains rcalculate 0,265 larger than rtable 0,213 at the 5% level of significance. (3) There is a togetherly positive relationship between teacher competencies and student learning motivation with student learning achievement 11th grade SMK PGRI 1 Surakarta on academic year 2011/2012.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know there any differences of Mechanical Engineering JPTK FKIP UNS student competence between graduates from Senior High School and Vocational High School in Electrical Outomotive Practice. This study was quantitative research. The method used in this research was descriptive. Population in this study were all of student in Automotive Concentration Mechanical Engineering Education program year on 2011,there are 23. Samples were taken with a total sample technique. The technique of collecting data questionnaires. The validity of questionnaires research instruments was using the product moment correlation approach of pearson. The validity instrument test with a significance level of  5% in order to get the valve of r product moment of 0,444. Reliability test was using the Alpha formula. The technique of data analysis in this research is using descriptive analysis. Based on this research concluded: There are differences Mechanical Engineering JPTK FKIP UNS student competence between graduates from High School and Vocational High School in Electrical Outomotive Practice.Vocational High School graduate student competency better than High School. This consists with result of the measuring instrument indicator, while  Vocational High School graduates at the high category with acquisition of a percentage of 50%, and High School 38.46%. Starter system indicator, Vocational High School graduates at the high category with acquisition of a percentage of 80%, while High School graduates in middle category percentage of 84.62%. Conventional ignition system indicator on vocational graduates are in high category while the acquisition of a percentage of 70%, but High School 53.84%. Engine analysis indicator, Vocational High School graduates at the high category while the acquisition of a percentage of 60%, but High School 46.15%.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to improve the conceptual understanding in the Brake System Repairing subject matter of the students in Grade X of the Light Vehicle Engineering Program of State Vocational High School 1 of Sawit, Boyolali. This Research used the Pictorial Riddle learning model are riddles presented to the class in picture or diagram form, depicting some novel or discrepant event. The validity of instrument was tested by using the content validity technique with the expert judgment and the application of Item and Test Analysis (Iteman 3.00). The instrument was exposed to the control class. The data of research used the descriptive comparative model of analysis. This research used classroom action research with two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four phases, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The result of reflection in the former cycle was made as a plan for the following cycle. The subjects of this research were the students as many as 30 in Grade X of Light Vehicle Engineering Program 3 of State Vocational High School 1 of Sawit, Boyolali in academic year 2014/2015. The result of research shows that the Pictorial Riddle learning model can improve the conceptual understanding in the Brake System Repairing subject matter as indicated by the result of evaluation test. The comparison between the students? average score of conceptual understanding in the pre-treatment and that of conceptual understanding in Cycle I shows that it improves from 59.67 to 76.55. The students? conceptual understandings from the pre-treatment to Cycle I and from Cycle I to Cycle II improve as much as 16.88% and 11.55% respectively with the class average score of 88.1. Thus, the application of the Pictorial Riddle  inquiry learning model of can improve the conceptual understanding in the Brake System Repairing subject matter of the students in Grade X of Light Vehicle Engineering Program of State Vocational High School 1 of Sawit, Boyolali in academic year 2014/2015.
