Abstract

The objectives of this research are to find: (1) the correlation between innovative attitude in Productive Subject Matter and lathe practice skill of the students in Grade XI of Mechanical Expertise Program of State Vocational High School 2 of Surakarta; (2) the correlation between cognitive strategy in Productive Subject Matter and lathe practice skill of the students in Grade XI of Mechanical Expertise Program of State Vocational High School 2 of Surakarta; and (3) the simultaneous correlation of innovative attitude and cognitive strategy in Productive Subject Matter to lathe practice skill of the students in Grade XI of Mechanical Expertise Program of State Vocational High School 2 of Surakarta. This research used the correlational method. Its population was all of the students as many as 127 in Grade XI of Mechanical Expertise Program of the aforementioned school. The samples of research were taken by using the simple random sampling technique and consisted of 92 students. The variables of research consisted of two independent variables i.e. innovative attitude and cognitive strategy and one dependent variable i.e. lathe practicum skill. The data of research were collected through questionnaire and documentation. The former was used to collect the data of innovative attitude and cognitive strategy, and the latter was used to collect the data of lathe practicum skill. Prior to its use, the questionnaire was tried out to 35 students. The data were validated by using the product moment formula, and their reliability was tested by using the Cronbach?s Alpha formula. Both the validity and reliability tests were aided with the program of SPSS Version 17.0. The data were analyzed by using the partial correlation analysis and the multiple linear regression analysis. Prior to the analyses, the data were exposed to pre-requisite tests of normality test, linearity test, and multicollinearity test. The results of research are as follows: (1) there is a positive and significant correlation between the innovative attitude and the lathe practice skill of the students in Grade XI of Mechanical Expertise Program of State Vocational High School 2 of Surakarta as indicated by the value of (rcount = 0.235 > that of r table = 0.207 at the significance level of 5%), meaning that the proposed hypothesis is verified; (2) there is a positive and significant correlation between the cognitive strategy and the lathe practice skill of the students in Grade XI of Mechanical Expertise Program of State Vocational High School 2 of Surakarta as indicated by the value of (rcount = 0.208 > that of rtable = 0.207 at the significance level of 5%), indicating that the proposed hypothesis is verified; and (3) there is a simultaneously positive and significant correlation of the innovative attitude and the cognitive strategy to the lathe practice skill of the students in Grade XI of Mechanical Expertise Program of State Vocational High School 2 of Surakarta as indicated by the value of (rcount = 0.235 > rtable = 0.207 at the significance level of 5%), meaning that the proposed hypothesis is verified  as indicated by the value of (Ry12 = 0.256 with the value of Fcount =3.112 > that of Ftable = 1.433 at the significance level of 5%), meaning that the proposed hypothesis is verified. The effective contribution of the innovative attitude variable to the lathe practicum skill is 5.58%, whereas that of the cognitive strategy variable to the lathe practice skill is 4.92%, meaning that the two variables have effective contributions to the lathe practicum skill as much as 10.8%, whereas the other factors, which are not explained in this research contribute to it as much as 89.2%. The correlational model of X1 and X2 to Y is Y = 87,762 + 0,252 X1 +0,237 X2. This model is statistically significant.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine: (1) The relationship between learning achiverments of micro teaching lecture to teacher?s interest at 6th semester mechanical engineering education student?s JPTK FKIP UNS academic year 2011 / 2012. (2) The relationship between learning motivation to teacher?s interest at 6th semester mechanical engineering education student?s JPTK FKIP UNS academic year 2011 / 2012. (3) The interaction relationship between lerning achiverments of micro teaching lecture and learning motivation to teacher?s interest at 6th semester mechanical engineering education student?s JPTK FKIP UNS academic year 2011  2012. This research is a quantitative description, the study population was Semester VI student Mechanical Engineering Faculty of Teacher Education UNS Surakarta academic year 2011/2012, amounting to 56 students, samples were taken proportionate stratified random sampling technique some 48 students and the instruments used in this study is a questionnaire spreading . Respondents trials with 25 students. Validity test was done by using Pearson Product Moment correlation, while the reliability test used Cronbach alpha formula. To determine the effect of one predictor Achievement Lecture Micro Teaching, Learning and Motivation to Become a Teacher Interests technique used simple regression analysis, whereas to determine the interaction relationships Subject Learning Achievement Motivation Micro Teaching and Learning jointly to Become Teachers used techniques Interests multiple regression analysis. The level of significance was set at the analysis of 5%. Based on this research can be concluded as follows: (1) there is a positive association between the Achievement Lecture Micro Teaching with an interest to become a teacher in the VI semester students JPTK Mechanical Engineering Faculty of Teacher Education UNS Academic Year 2011/2012 indicated rx1y value = 1.202% while rtab5% = 0.284, rx1y > rtab5% or 1.202 > 0.284, (2) there is a positive relationship Interests Motivation to Become a Master in Education VI semester students JPTK FKIP UNS Mechanical Engineering Academic Year 2011/2012 as indicated by the value rx1y = 0.700, rtab5% = 0.284 and rx1y > rtab5% or 0.700 > 0.284, (3) there is interaction relationship Lecture Learning Achievement Motivation Micro Teaching and Learning jointly against Interests Being a Teacher at Education VI semester students JPTK FKIP UNS Mechanical Engineering Academic Year 2011/2012. It is shown from the calculation of the numerator df = 2, denominator df = 45 and a significance level of 5% is obtained Fhitung> F table or 24.57 > 3.20. Donations relative achievement courses micro teaching interests became professor of 5.99% and the relative contribution of motivation to learn with interest in becoming teachers of 94.00%. While effective contribution achievement micro teaching subjects with teacher nenjadi interest at 3.13% and the effective contribution of motivation to learn with interest at 49.11% as a teacher

Abstract

The objective of this research are to investigate: (1) the effect of variation of Groundstrap wire diameter on the torque and power of Yamaha Jupiter-Z motorcycle 2007; (2) the effect of variation of ignition timing on the torque and power of Yahama Jupiter-Z motorcycle 2007; and (3) the effect of interaction between the variation of groundstrap wire diameter and variation of ignition timing on the torque and power of Yamaha Jupiter-Z motorcycle 2007. This research used the descriptive quantitative method. The sample of the research was Yamaha Jupiter-Z motorcycle 2007 with the engine serial number of 2P2675042. The research was conducted at Mototech Motocourse Technology, South Ringroadstreet , Bantul, Jogjakarta. The data of the research were obtained through documentation of the result of measurement of torque and power resulting from print out research tool Sportdyno V.3.3. that based from research groundstrap installation (with diameter of 0.25 mm and 0.40 mm), ignition timing (13° BTDC and 7° BTDC) and interaction of the groundstrap installation and the change of ignition timing. The results of the research are as follows: 1) The maximum torque of the standard condition test is 8.59 Nm, and the maximum power is 8.30 HP. The test with the groundstrap installation with the coil wire diameter of 0.25 mm results in the maximum power of 8.33 HP and the maximum torque of 8.89 Nm. Meanwhile, the groundstrap installation with the coil wire diameter of 0.40 mm results in the maximum torque of 8.89 Nm and the maximum power of 8.37 HP. 2) The test of the ignition timing of 7° BTDC results in the maximum torque of 8.89 Nm and the maximum power of 8.33 HP. Meanwhile, the test of ignition timing of 13° BTDC results in the maximum torque of 8.78 Nm and the maximum power of 8.50 HP. 3) The results of the test indicate that the highest maximum torque and power are obtained from the interaction of the treatment of ignition timing of 7° BTDC and the groundstrap installation with the coil wire diameter of 0.25 mm. The torque and power produced are 9.05 Nm and 8.57 HP respectively. 4) At 4500 rpm of the engine speed, the result of the research showed increase with more clear. Based on research, the result of the torque research at 4500 rpm showed the increase between 27% to 47%. The result of the power research showed the increase between 24% to 44%.

Abstract

  Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk : (1) Menyelidiki pengaruh jumlah katalisator pada Hydrocarbon Crack System (HCS) terhadap daya mesin sepeda motor Yamaha Jupiter Z tahun 2008. (2) Menyelidiki pengaruh variasi jenis busi terhadap daya mesin sepeda motor Yamaha Jupiter Z tahun 2008. (3) Menyelidiki interaksi pengaruh jumlah katalisator pada Hydrocarbon Crack System (HCS) dan variasi jenis busi terhadap daya mesin sepeda motor Yamaha Jupiter Z tahun 2008. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara melakukan pengukuran daya mesin, dengan perlakuan penggunaan Hydrocarbon Crack System/HCS (faktor A) dan variasi jenis busi (faktor B), dengan 3 buah taraf pada faktor A dan 2 buah taraf pada faktor B, sehingga dihasilkan 6 buah perlakuan dan setiap perlakuan dilakukan perulangan sebanyak 3 kali sehingga diperoleh 18 data pengukuran daya mesin. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji anava dua jalan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan Hydrocarbon Crack System (HCS) dan variasi jenis busi serta komparasi pasca anava untuk mengetahui perbedaan rerata perlakuan manakah yang menghasilkan daya mesin yang paling tinggi.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the effect of the use of two sparking plugs on the CO exhaust emission of Motorcycle Yamaha Jupiter Z assembled in 2009; (2) the effect of engine rotation on the CO exhaust emission of Motorcycle Yamaha Jupiter Z assembled in 2009; and (3) the simultaneous effect (interaction) of variation of number of sparking plugs and that of engine rotation on the CO exhaust emission of Motorcycle Yamaha Jupiter Z assembled in 2009. This research used the experimental research method with the factorial design of 3 x 3. It was conducted at the Office of Transportation, Communication, and Informatics at Jl. Menteri Supeno No. 7 Manahan,Surakarta. The population of research was Motorcycle Yamaha Zupiter Z assembled in 2009 with the engine number of 30C653165 and the chassis number of F8034661I. The sample of research was taken by using the purposive sampling technique. The data of research were gathered through the measurement of CO exhaust emission by using exhaust gas analyzer. They were taken in three times of replication, and therefore there were 18 data. The data were analyzed by using the two way analysis of variance and then the Scheffe and Chi-square tests. Prior to the tests, they were exposed to pre-requisite tests, namely: normality test and homogeneity test. The former used Lilliefor test and the latter used Bartlett test. The results of research are as follows: 1) There is an effect of the use of two sparking plugs on the CO exhaust emission level of Motorcycle Yamaha Jupiter Z assembled in 2009. The use of two sparking plugs reduces the CO exhaust emission level. 2) There is an effect of engine rotation on the CO exhaust emission of Motorcycle Yamaha Jupiter Z assembled in 2009. The higher is the engine rotation, the higher the CO exhaust emission level is. 3) There is a simultaneous effect (interaction) of variation of number of sparking plugs and that of engine rotation on the CO exhaust emission of Motorcycle Yamaha Jupiter Z assembled in 2009. Such a treatment also results in a lower CO exhaust emission level. 4) The lowest exhaust emission level as much as 5% is obtained in the use of two sparking plugs.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to improve learning result and creativity of student learning in the subject matter of Pemeliharaan Mesin Kendaraan Ringan of the students in grade XI TO A of State Vocational High School 5 of Surakarta through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This research is a classroom action research (CAR). The results show that through the application of the model Problem Based Learning (PBL) can improve learning result and student learning creativity of pre-cycle to cycle I and II. The learning process in the pre-cycle using the conventional model so that the students learning result and creativity lower. The increase occurred in the first cycle a value of students who achieve mastery in the pre-cycle as much as 56.25% increase to 71.88%. Furthermore, on the second cycle increased to 84.38%. For the creativity of students in the observation sheet increased from pre-cycle by 31.25% to 49.48% and the second cycle increased to 70.96%.The co nclusions of this research is the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) can improve learning results and creativity of the students in grade XI TO A of State Vocational High School 5 of Surakarta.

Abstract

The purpose  of this study  were (1)to  find out  how thereadiness of  vocational studentsin SMK Bhinneka Karya Surakarta competed in the world of work, (2)to find out what are the things  that  block  the  SMK  Bhinneka  Karya  Surakarta  in  preparing  students  to  be  able  tocompetein  the  world  of  work,  (3)tok  now  thee  fforts  that  made  the  SMK  Bhinneka  KaryaSurakarta  in  overcoming  these  barriers.  The  studyused  a  qualitative  approach  withdescriptive  methods  and  strategies  of  singlespikes.  The  source  data  consists  of  informants, places  andevents  as  well  as  documents  and  archives.  Data  collection  techniquesused  were interviews,  observation  and  document  analysis.  Sampling  techniqueused  was  purposivesnowball sampling. The validity of  the data used is the  triangulation  of  sources and  methods. Techniques  of data analysis  using  interactive  analysis model.  Based on this research, efforts to prepare Bhinneka  Karya vocational students to be able to compete in the world of work is through the implementation of the Teaching-Learning Process, industry practices, and skills certification  test.  But  in  practice,  the  SMK  Bhinneka  Karya  Surakarta  have  problems, namely: (a) Lack of Funds For Education Organization, (b) The lack of laboratory facilities in  the  Process  of  Education,  (c)  Lack  of  Responsibility  of  Teachers  Against  the  task  and obligation,  (d)  Difficult  to  Find  world  of  Business  and  Industry  Invited  to  cooperate.  The work done  SMKBhinnekaKaryaSurakarta  to overcome these obstacles are, (a) Enabling the Production  Unit,  (b)  Adding  Process  Support  Laboratory  for  Education,  (c)  Held  briefing and warning by the school, (d) Maximized the role of School Council.

Abstract

The objectives of research are to investigate: (1) The application of Occupational Health and Safety (OHAS) at the Machinery Repair Shop of the Mechanical Engineering Education, Department of Technical and Vocational Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University. (2) The perceptions of students on the application of OHAS at the Machinery Repair Shop of the Mechanical Engineering Education, Department of Technical and Vocational Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University. (3) The risk of hazards at the Machinery Repair Shop of the Mechanical Engineering Education, Department of Technical and Vocational Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University. The research used the descriptive qualitative method. It was conducted at the Machinery Repair Shop of the Mechanical Engineering Education, Department of Technical and Vocational Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University. The samples of the research are PTM 2011 students as many as 27 who took the Advanced Machinery course. The data of the research were gathered through observation, questionnaire, in-depth interview, and documentation. The quistionnaire were validated by using the correlational test of product moment, and their reliability was tested by using the alpha formula. The validity of the data obtained through questionnaire was examined by using the data source triangulation and the data gathering method triangulation. They were then analyzed descriptively by using the interactive model of analysis claimed by Miles Huberman. The conclusion of research was: (1) The Application of OHAS  were good enough by well-equipped facilities,  however there?s a several lack include the administration of OHAS facilities, health box complexity and an absent-minded students whom not using an APD prepared on machinery repair shop. (2) The perception of students towards the application of OHAS for the components of attitude, knowledge, and action belongs to a high/good category whereas that for the components of the condition for the application of OHAS is classified into low/poor category. (3) The most dominant risk of hazards based on the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) includes noise disturbance, wound caused by metal particles, and breathing disorder caused by dusts.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Technological developments require prospective role of educators to keep up-dated with the knowledge and emerging technologies. Moreover, the learn lessons for Auto CAD. Given the limited time allocated to-face lectures CAD. the necessary learning media to overcome it. Designing learning video for practical subjects Auto CAD 2 dimension. Producting learning media appropriate for use as a media of learning in the classroom in the subject of Auto CAD 2 dimension. The process of product design in the form of video consists of three stages that are pra production, production and post production. In this research videos that have been produced packed with Adobe Flash CS5 to be more structured in understanding thecontains in the video. Due to the leaerning media has been made function during a one semester. Data collection techniques form of learning media assessment by questionnaires using experts. The experts included media specialists, instructional specialists and expert substance. The format of the questionnaire by semantik differensial. The analysis of data by descriptive quantitative with five criteria scores in this research, that are: very good, good, fair, less and much less. Base on results of data analysis it can be concluded that: feasibility learning media divided into three aspects: (1) aspects of substance obtain an average value of 4,167. According to the assessment criteria, then this learning media aspects of substance classified as good. (2) instructional aspect to obtain an average value of 3.58. According to the assessment criteria, it has been seen from the learning media instructional aspect is good. (3) Aspects of the media get the average value of 4.027. According to the assessment criteria, it has been seen from media?s aspect that the learning media is good. So the value of the final average learning media Auto CAD 2 Dimension engineering education is 3,924. So according to the assessment criteria, learning media is quite good.

Abstract

The research aims at developing the learning media of materials testing and constructing a learning media used for Materials Science course in the Mechanical Engineering Education study program (PTM) of Technical Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP) of Sebelas Maret University (UNS). This research employed Research and Development method (R & D).The product design was organized by applying the procedure involving design and development stages, comprising the study of the materials, product qualification, media use, and storyboard construction. The research findings indicate that the product of learning media developed in the research is acceptable, able to meet the qualification of learning media of materials testing, and is therefore classified as Good (87.89%).
