Abstract

The knowledge about the nutritional status of toddlers is very important for every parent because malnutrition can have an impact on a child's development. Malnutrition issues in toddlers can be caused by several factors including socio-economic conditions, maternal nutrition quality during pregnancy, infant health, and the level of nutrient intake during infancy. Specific measures in the field of nutrition are more focused on addressing the root causes of nutritional problems, such as dietary patterns and infectious diseases, and fall within the framework of health policies. The goal of community empowerment efforts is to improve the quality of life and social status of communities currently living in poverty so they can change their circumstances. One form of empowerment in improving nutrition is by harnessing the resources available in villages, such as agricultural products, plantations, livestock, and fisheries, which are then creatively processed by the local community to produce nutritious products and enhance household economic potential. In this endeavor, we identify that in nearly every region, future generations face serious threats related to the nutritional status of toddlers. Therefore, preventive measures starting at the household level are essential. Through the Empowered Integrated Health Posyandu’s program, the goal of improving toddler nutrition from the household level can be realized through community outreach, guidance, and active participation especially in Kutaliman, Kedungbanteng, Banyumas Regency.

Abstract

The influence of people's sociocultural practices on health has been a major focus in global health studies. In an era of rapid change, recognition of the complex impact of cultural practices, values, and traditions on physical and mental well-being is increasingly important. Health today is thought to be the result of interactions involving biological, social, environmental, and psychological factors. The study collected and analyzed literature, qualitative approaches, and field data to investigate the influence of sociocultural practices on health. The study's findings point to several key aspects in this context. Diet and physical activity have a significant role in sociocultural influences on health. People's diets that reflect cultural values and the availability of natural resources can contribute to chronic disease risk. Physical activity, which is also influenced by social and cultural factors, has an impact on overall health. Traditional medicine also has a great influence on health. Some communities still rely on hereditary medical practices, which can often complement modern medical care. Social support also has an impact on mental and physical health, with strong support networks playing a role in reducing stress and improving well-being. In addition, perceptions of disease and spiritual factors also play a role in sociocultural practices that affect health. Some communities may associate illness with spiritual aspects, while others are more likely to see it as a result of biological factors. In conclusion, the sociocultural practices of society have a strong influence on the health of individuals and communities. Diet, traditional medicine practices, social support, and perceptions of disease are all interrelated and form complex interactions. A deeper understanding of these factors is important in developing a holistic and sustainable health approach that considers cultural and social diversity. Collaboration between health professionals, social scientists, and the public is needed to optimize the positive impact and reduce the negative impact of sociocultural practices on health.

Abstract

Sports education has learning characteristics that are different from other subjects because it is more psychomotor in nature and still involves affective and cognitive abilities that are comparable to learning those who mainly move. Students are expected to be able to improve affective and cognitive skills with learning modifications that have been arranged by the teacher. The same goes for encouraging healthy living habits through sports education. By banning students from the values of healthy living habits, sports education can become the foundation for a complex of knowledge that will help students maintain their quality of life into old age. Health is a fundamental need in life. The majority of individuals frequently disregard the behavior needed to establish a culture of healthy living. To create good quality human beings in terms of physical, mental and spiritual development, it is crucial to promote a culture of healthy living. The government and people who care about health must continue to step up their efforts to better understand each person in order to develop a perspective that can shift behavior in a positive direction. It is believed that through physical, sports and health education in educational institutions, children will develop a healthy lifestyle culture from an early age.

Abstract

This paper discusses the potential of using Aloe vera extract cream with various formulas, including the incorporation of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) as a cream base, for burn wound healing. The study aims to investigate the healing effects of second-degree burn wounds in mice using Aloe vera extract cream with different formulas. Phytochemical analysis identified the presence of phenols, tannins, and saponins in the Aloe vera extract. The results of the wound healing tests indicate that Aloe vera extract creams with different formulas have the potential to accelerate healing, with a healing time range of 8 to 14 days. Formulas containing VCO as a cream base showed faster healing, likely due to the medium-chain saturated fatty acid content in VCO that supports tissue regeneration. Aloe vera extract also possesses cleansing and antiseptic properties that can prevent infections in wounds. Although healing times varied among the different formulas, the main conclusion is that Aloe vera extract creams have the potential to support the healing of second-degree burn wounds.

Abstract

Sports have become an irreplaceable element in maintaining public health amidst today's modern challenges. In the sphere of increasingly busy lifestyles and unbalanced diets, the importance of exercise as a key pillar of public health is becoming increasingly relevant. This abstract summarizes the results of studies on the importance of exercise in maintaining public health from various perspectives. The main benefits of exercise for people's physical health include weight regulation, increased muscle and bone strength, and prevention of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Through regular physical activity, the risk of obesity and related health problems can be suppressed. In addition, exercise also helps improve the function of the respiratory and digestive systems, making it key to a more physically fit society. Aspects of mental health are also inevitable in this context. Exercise has been shown to have a positive impact on people's mental well-being by stimulating the release of endorphins, stress-reducing hormones, anxiety, and depression. In an increasingly complex society, exercise is becoming an effective solution for treating mental health and improving quality of life. Sport not only affects individuals personally but also has significant social implications. Through participation in sports groups or teams, social interaction can be enhanced, community bonds strengthened, and positive values such as cooperation and fair play are emphasized. This has an impact on building strong character and connecting with a more socially healthy society. However, sports promotion does not go without challenges. Busy modern lifestyles often reduce the time for exercise, and access to adequate sports facilities is not always evenly distributed in all walks of life. Therefore, the role of governments, educational institutions, and communities in promoting sports has become very important. In conclusion, exercise has a crucial role in maintaining overall public health. Through its impact on physical, mental, and social health, sport becomes an effective tool in caring for people's well-being. By strengthening the promotion and integration of sport in everyday life, we can shape a healthier, happier, and more empowered society.

Abstract

Adolescents in Tasikalaya District show a tendency to be susceptible to Tramadol protection, a type of opioid analgesic commonly used to reduce moderate to severe pain. This phenomenon is a resource for the medical community, health practitioners, local governments and other related parties. Serious attention is needed to this problem to prevent negative impacts on the health and welfare of adolescents in the region. Coordinative efforts between the health, education and government sectors need to be strengthened to develop effective prevention and intervention strategies. A deep understanding of the factors driving Tramadol is key in designing appropriate preventive measures. This research examines the use of the drug tramadol among teenagers in Tasikalaya Regency using a qualitative approach and Differential Association Theory. The results of the study showed that adolescents' support for tramadol was caused by social and environmental factors, including interactions with peers and family members who also used the drug. Teenagers often rationalize their behavior and have certain attitudes that influence their decision to take tramadol. Apart from that, the easy availability of tramadol medication and affordable prices also influences teenagers' choices. This study provides a deeper understanding of the problem of tramadol among adolescents and suggests comprehensive preventive measures.
