Jurnal Pengabdian, Riset, Kreativitas, Inovasi, dan Teknologi Tepat Guna (Jurnal Parikesit) adalah jurnal ilmiah multidisiplin yang diterbitkan oleh Direktorat Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Universitas Gadjah Mada. Jurnal ini mencakup banyak masalah atau masalah umum yang ditemukan selama pelaksanaan Kuliah Kerja Nyata – Pembelajaran Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (KKN-PPM) yang terdaftar dengan E-ISSN 3025-6747 dan P-ISSN 3025-633X. Publikasi jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menyebarluaskan pemikiran atau gagasan konseptual dan hasil Pembelajaran Pemberdayaan Masyarakat yang telah dicapai selama pelaksanaan KKN. Jurnal Parikesit memuat berbagai kegiatan dari Mahasiswa KKN bersama dengan berbagai kalangan masyarakat dalam menangani dan mengelola berbagai potensi, hambatan, tantangan dan permasalahan yang ada di masyarakat. Pelaksanaan kegiatan juga melibatkan peran serta masyarakat dan mitra. Jurnal akan diterbitkan setiap enam bulan pada bulan Mei dan November. Jurnal Parikesit menggunakan Open Journal System yang mewajibkan semua penulis untuk mendaftar terlebih dahulu sebelum diperbolehkan mengunggah naskah yang mereka tulis secara online. Proses pengiriman naskah terbuka sepanjang tahun bagi Civitas Universitas Gadjah Mada. Jika naskah yang dikirimkan tidak sesuai dengan pedoman atau ditulis dalam format yang berbeda, maka akan DITOLAK oleh editor sebelum ditinjau lebih lanjut. Setiap artikel yang masuk ke redaksi akan diseleksi melalui proses Desk Review dan Evaluasi Naskah Awal oleh Dewan Redaksi. Kemudian artikel akan dikirim ke Mitra Bebestari/peer reviewer dan akan masuk ke seleksi selanjutnya dengan Proses Double-Blind Peer-Review. Setelah itu, editor, peer reviewer, dan penulis dapat memantau pemrosesan naskah. Jurnal Pengabdian, Riset, Kreativitas, Inovasi, dan Teknologi Tepat Guna (Jurnal Parikesit) sebagai terbitan berkala ilmiah yang belum terakreditasi oleh Dirjen Penguatan Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi Republik Indonesia.

Abstract

Water is an undeniable essence of life, serving as a fundamental need for all living organisms on our planet. Its importance extends beyond various ecosystems, playing a vital role in sustaining plants, animals, and humans. From providing nourishment to plants to supplying hydration to livestock, water plays a fundamental role in ensuring food security and supporting agricultural efforts. Moreover, water serves as the foundation for industrial processes, facilitating production across various sectors. Beyond its utilitarian value, water holds significant ecological importance, contributing to biodiversity conservation and preservation of natural habitats. Freshwater reservoirs serve as the primary source to meet various needs, including drinking and sanitation. However, it is crucial to acknowledge the challenges faced during drought seasons. Drought poses a serious threat not only disrupting water supplies for human and agricultural needs but also having broad impacts on ecosystems and environmental sustainability. These conditions can lead to significant economic losses, damaging agricultural yields, and even disrupting food supplies. Therefore, this paper aims to address the challenges posed by drought, particularly in the region of Padukuhan Guyangan Kidul, Kalurahan Mertelu, Kecamatan Gedangsari, Kabupaten Gunungkidul, by exploring the potential of groundwater sources and implementing strategies to mitigate the impacts of water scarcity. The methods employed include geoelectric surveys using Schlumberger configuration and 3D surface-frequency-depth analysis. The main results include the identification of potential groundwater sources and the implementation of filtration systems to improve water quality. In conclusion, this study highlights the importance of groundwater exploration and community engagement in addressing water scarcity issues, ultimately contributing to improved access to clean water and sustainable development in the region.

Abstract

The use of traditional medicine utilizing herbal plants has become a familiar part in Indonesian culture. Herbal plants are known for their healing properties and ability to prevent various diseases. Many of these herbal plants, which have the potential to be developed into biopharmaceutical plants, can be found in Lemahbang Village and Pucung Village, Kismantoro District. However, the utilization of herbal plants in Lemahbang and Pucung Villages remains limited, primarily used as kitchen spices or traditional herbal drinks (jamu). Therefore, further development is necessary to enhance the potential of these herbal plants into biopharmaceuticals.This community service activity is divided into three phases: 1) preparation phase; 2) implementation phase; and 3) evaluation phase. These phases were conducted from December 2023 to January 2024. The activities introduced the preparation of turmeric and tamarind powder and aloe vera soothing gel. The outcomes of this activity include the production of these herbal products, data on herbal plants in Lemahbang Village, digitization of data, and a booklet listing the herbal plants found in Lemahbang Village.The conclusion drawn from this activity is that it has the potential to increase the community's knowledge and awareness of the local herbal plants' potential, thereby enhancing the health and economic benefits for the community. The digitization process through the village website provides easier access for the community to obtain information about herbal plants. Practical training also directly benefits PKK members in processing simple herbal products.

Abstract

Gunungkidul Regency, particularly Hargomulyo Village, is one of the areas affected by the long dry season this year. This sub-district faces a critical issue with the scarcity of clean water sources. Therefore, this research aims to estimate the potential of groundwater resources in the Hargomulyo sub-district to guide drilling efforts and meet domestic water needs. The methods used in this research are the Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) method and the electromagnetic (EM) method to assess groundwater potential, while referring to SNI 6728:1:2015 concerning the preparation of spatial balances of natural resources to determine domestic water needs. The VES method was conducted in Jatibungkus and Mangli hamlets, while the EM method was carried out in Suruh hamlet. The VES method did not identify groundwater sources, whereas the EM method revealed groundwater sources with a discharge rate of 4,920 liters per hour. Domestic water needs in Hargomulyo District amount to 441,900 liters per day. The topography of Hargomulyo Village is predominantly hilly, making geoelectric methods less effective. The geoelectric method only detects underground rock materials, whereas in Hargomulyo Village, groundwater is stored in rock fractures, making it difficult for geoelectric methods to detect. To address this issue, the electromagnetic method is recommended. This method is quite effective in terrain dominated by hilly areas. The results of groundwater estimation using the EM method can fulfill some of the domestic water needs in Hargomulyo District. Repeated water detection using this method could meet domestic water needs and mitigate the water shortage problem in Hargomulyo District.

Abstract

Kelompok Informasi Masyarakat (KIM) is an independent and creative community communication institution that aims to form a network for information dissemination, encourage community participation in development, and enhance public intelligence in receiving information. However, the community still finds KIM's roles and functions somewhat unclear. The KKN-PPM UGM Unit Patuk team responded by assisting in creating social media accounts for each padukuhan and conducting a socialization program about KIM, covering its definition, roles, objectives, functions, social media management strategies, topics that can be posted or should be avoided, and Instagram algorithms. This study employs a qualitative approach with a focus on observation and interviews to understand the experiences and perceptions of KIM members regarding the use of social media as a tool for sharing information in the Padukuhan environment. The socialization materials include explanations about KIM according to Kominfo, the importance of spreading accurate information, and guidelines on what can and cannot be posted on social media. Additionally, we discussed the dangers of posting incorrect information, the use of Instagram, types of content that can be posted, and the best times to post according to social media algorithms. We also facilitated the creation of social media accounts for each padukuhan in Beji, choosing Instagram due to its popularity and features that effectively support information dissemination. KIM members from various dusuns showed high enthusiasm for this socialization and stated that they now better understand the main roles and functions of KIM, recognize its benefits as a tool to promote the potential of their dusuns through social media, master effective techniques for disseminating information on the platform, and have basic knowledge of social media design.

Abstract

adukuhan Dukuh merupakan salah satu wilayah yang sedang mengembangkan proses pengelolaan sampah organik dan anorganik berbasis budidaya Maggot Black Soldier Fly (BSF). Hal ini merespon dari timbulan sampah organik dan anorganik yang semakin tinggi pada TPA Piyungan DIY. Tujuan dari program pengabdian ini adalah melakukan sosialisasi dan pembinaan serta pendampingan berkelanjutan terhadap kelompok masyarakat melalui kelompok sampah “Migunani” untuk mengolah sampah rumah tangga secara mandiri yang dapat dimanfaatkan berbagai kebutuhan. Dengan demikian, permasalahan sampah dapat dikurangi dan menambah nilai ekonomi warga masyarakat. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dibagi 6 tahap yaitu : 1) Tahapan Persiapan dan Perizinan; 2) Workshop dan Edukasi Masyarakat; 3) Pelatihan dan pendampingan berkala; 4) Studi Banding di Omah Maggot Jogja; 5) Pembagian Alat Pengelolaan Sampah berupa Karung Komposter, Tong Komposter dan Alat Bor Biopori; dan 6) Tahapan Monitoring dan Evaluasi. Hasil dari seluruh rangkaian pengabdian berjalan dengan baik dan lancar. Hasil yang diharapkan dalam jangka panjang adalah kemandirian masyarakat dalam mengelola sampah organik dan anorganik sehingga sampah dari Padukuhan Dukuh tidak perlu dibawa ke TPA. Kesimpulan dalam program ini adalah kelompok masyarakat mendapatkan peningkatan pengetahuan dan mulai melakukan pengelolaan sampah baik bagi rumah maggot maupun secara mandiri di rumah masing-masing.

Abstract

PDAM clean water services cannot provide access to all communities in Kelurahan Jetis, Kecamatan Saptosari, Kabupaten Gunung Kidul, so that the poor only rely on rainfed systems and utilize the lake. The purpose of this study was to determine the lithology of rocks in the research location and the potential existence of groundwater aquifers through Geolistrik VES (Vertical Electrical Sounding) Schlumberger configuration data. The results of this study indicate that based on VES geoelectric measurements in Padukuhan Dondong, Kelurahan Jetis, Kecamatan Saptosari, there are 6 layers at point A and point B with limestone lithology dominated. The resistivity analysis results show that the potential groundwater aquifer is at a depth of 14.89 - 30.25 meters with a resistivity value of 14.32 (Ωm) at point A and 36.47 - 64.94 meters with a resistivity value of 36.26 (Ωm) at point B. The results of this VES geoelectric experiment are in accordance with the results of groundwater well drilling at point A.

Abstract

Makalah ini menyajikan pengembangan dan implementasi inisiatif socio-entrepreneurship yang berfokus pada peningkatan nilai ekonomi produk pisang di Kalurahan Mertelu, Kecamatan Gedangsari, melalui produksi Keripik Pisang Salut. Inisiatif ini menanggapi kurang optimalnya pemanfaatan panen pisang yang melimpah di wilayah tersebut, yang sering kali dijual dengan harga rendah atau dibuang. Program yang dilaksanakan bekerja sama dengan tim KKN-PPM UGM ini bertujuan untuk mengubah pasokan pisang lokal menjadi produk bernilai tambah dengan mengembangkan varian baru keripik pisang berbalut rasa. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara dengan pemangku kepentingan lokal, diikuti oleh serangkaian sesi pelatihan dan pendampingan bagi pengusaha lokal. Sesi ini mencakup pengembangan produk, manajemen usaha, dan pemasaran digital. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kualitas produk, jangkauan pasar, dan kepatuhan hukum di antara bisnis yang berpartisipasi. Makalah ini menyimpulkan bahwa inisiatif ini berhasil meningkatkan nilai ekonomi industri pisang lokal sambil berkontribusi pada pengentasan kemiskinan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat di Mertelu.

Abstract

Corn is one of the main agricultural products in Tobadak Village. The people in Tobadak Village mainly use the corn kernels to feed their farm animals and then burn or throw away the cob which can be a problem to the environment, especially its soil and air around it. If we can correctly utilise and process its cob, it can be useful to the environment and reduce the pollution around it. One of the products that we can make using this corn cob is straw mushroom cultivation. It does not take long to cultivate this straw mushroom. It takes around 2 weeks to harvest and after that, we can enjoy the benefits. This activity consists of several methods, which are counselling, hands-on practice, society mentoring, monitoring and evaluation. This activity aims to reduce the agricultural waste and improve their knowledge and skill in processing this agricultural waste, especially corn cob to make and cultivate straw mushrooms.

Abstract

The vulnerability of aquaculture towards climate change and other environmental factors, forced the industry to adapt and adopt a new technology. Those factors can be minimized through the application of Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) that has been proven to have a 90–99% lower rate of water dependency compared to conventional aquaculture systems. Another problem faced by the aquaculture sector is the soaring production costs due to the high price of fish feed. Maggots are rich in protein, which is essential for fish growth, and can be used as a more affordable natural feed. Limited water supply in Desa Sumberharjo poses a significant obstacle to the development of aquaculture. This problem can be solved by utilizing RAS technology to overcome water limitations and developing maggot as an alternative feed to enhance productivity and reduce production costs in fish farming. The methods used in this research and community service are survey and field observation, program socialization, questionnaire, local group formation, alongside community training and assistance. This research and community service aims to address the challenges faced in developing the aquaculture sector in Desa Sumberharjo through the implementation of RAS technology and the development of natural fish feed from maggots.

Abstract

Stunting is a multifaceted and urgent issue in Indonesia. The impact of stunting extends beyond health and is also detrimental to the potential of human resources, therefore compromising the quality of future generations. Stunting is characterized by retardation in the growth of children caused by insufficient nutrition during the first 1000 days of life. Numerous food supplementation initiatives have been implemented to reduce the prevalence of stunting, including the "One Day One Egg" campaign in Desa Jetis, Kecamatan Bandungan. The primary objective of this program is to enhance the understanding of posyandu cadres on the significance of incorporating one egg into their daily diet to meet the protein requirements of a child. The program was conducted using a pre-test, material presentation, and post-test to assess the improvement in the knowledge of the target participants. The study findings indicate a substantial rise in post-test scores, by an average gain of 12.73 points, when compared to pre-test grades. The efficacy of the "One Day One Egg" initiative in enhancing the awareness of target participants on the significance of protein consumption for the prevention of stunting has been successfully demonstrated. It is anticipated that this program will be implemented in everyday life to reduce the prevalence of stunting in Desa Jetis.
