Abstract

The book Interfaith Fiqh: Building an Inclusive-Pluralist Society is one of the books published by the Paramadina Foundation in collaboration with The Asia Foundation. This research aims to show any irregularities or irregularities in the interpretation of the Koran by the authors, especially sensitive matters and principles in Islamic Sharia. This research method uses a critical comparative study method of the authors' interpretations in explaining interfaith marriages. The authors use a new interpretive approach, according to them, which is known as the Hermeneutic Method, namely a method that is contextual and interprets everything, including the Koran, in a liberal, free way and even seems haphazard without maintaining the sanctity of the Islamic holy book. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the authors' interpretation of Interfaith Marriage using a Hermeneutic approach is not in accordance with mainstream Islamic teachings or the interpretive methodology of ulama whose knowledge and understanding of the Koran is beyond doubt.

Abstract

Issues between husbands and wives in a household are a common occurrence, whether they are minor or major. However, Islam teaches that these issues should be resolved in a better manner, namely through the method of deliberation and the principle of cooperation. In the Qur'an, Allah SWT provides the best guidelines for resolving conflicts in the household, as found in Surah An-Nisa, verse 35. This verse emphasizes the importance of a fair and wise mediator in resolving disputes between husbands and wives, ensuring that the issue is addressed in the right way, benefiting both parties. If the couple applies this method, they will find a better and more insightful way to handle various challenges in their marriage. This paper aims to examine the interpretation of Surah An-Nisa, verse 35, and understand the implications of the principle of deliberation in married life. By using both classical and contemporary exegesis approaches, this paper will explain how the principle of deliberation can not only be a solution to marital conflicts but also foster a more harmonious and blessed life. A good understanding of this verse is expected to serve as a guideline in building a strong family based on Islamic values.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of leadership and supervision in managing human resource (HR) transformation within Islamic missionary (dakwah) institutions. In an era of rapid change, especially within the digital and social context, dakwah institutions face significant challenges related to organizational adaptation, performance, and professionalism of their human resources. Using qualitative methods through literature analysis, this study identifies leadership models and supervisory strategies that support adaptive HR development aligned with the vision of Islamic propagation. The findings highlight that transformational leadership, participatory supervision, and value-based governance are key to cultivating integrity, productivity, and commitment in da’i and support staff. The study concludes that change management in dakwah HR must be systemic, visionary, and spiritually rooted.

Abstract

The general hajj has been proven to be able to significantly change a person into a better person in carrying out religious teachings. Since becoming a prospective hajj, he has begun to become a figure who diligently prays in congregation to the mosque, a more islmai appearance, a more polite speech, discipline with rules, staying away from prohibitions, being more generous, and helping each other in kindness, all are great energy to improve the quality of personal, family and community. There are so many messages of kindness that can be learned by those who have fulfilled this fifth pillar of Islam.worship, and changing behavior in accordance with Islamic values.

Abstract

This study analyzes the news framing of two media, republika.co.id and tempo.co, towards Erick Thohir who served as the general chairman of PSSI for the first 3 months (March-May 2023). Using Robert N. Entman's framing analysis method, this study highlights the differences in news content from the two media. This study is a qualitative study with content analysis techniques, which examines the choice of title, use of sources, choice of words, and strengthening the agenda setting. Data were collected from news from Republika.co.id and Tempo.co during the first 3 months of office from March to May 2023. Framing analysis includes four elements: define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgments, and treatment recommendations. The results of this study indicate that there are differences in the content of the news presented by the two medias, Republika.co.id news tends to support and emphasize positive things, while Tempo.co news tends to be more neutral, critical and detailed. This finding indicates that the presentation of the news is diverse.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation of da’wah methods through the integration of Virtual Reality (VR) journeys in enhancing religious understanding and spiritual experiences of the mad’u. The research addresses a gap in previous studies that mostly focus on conventional digital media such as social media and websites, without specifically exploring immersive technologies like VR. Employing a qualitative approach, this study is based on a synthesis of recent literature and in-depth interviews with digital da’wah practitioners, Islamic VR content creators, and users of religious-themed VR content. The findings reveal that VR holds a distinctive potential in delivering immersive, affective, and reflective religious experiences. Simulations of sacred spaces (e.g., Masjid al-Haram), Islamic historical events, and interactive narratives effectively evoke empathy, deepen the comprehension of Islamic values, and strengthen spiritual consciousness. Compared to conventional methods, VR offers a heightened sense of presence and emotional impact. This study contributes a novel perspective to the digital da’wah discourse by proposing VR journey integration as a transformative method aligned with the visual, interactive, and experiential nature of the digital generation.

Abstract

The development of the digital world has significantly influenced teenagers' lives, particularly in spiritual and mental aspects. Generation Z youth live in a reality full of social pressure, self-expectation, and constant exposure to social media, leading to increased anxiety, stress, and loss of life purpose. In this context, Islamic preaching (dakwah) content on digital platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok emerges as a vital alternative for offering both spiritual and mental support. This study employs a qualitative approach through literature review, examining academic sources from 2021 to 2025 and observing popular da’wah content relevant to adolescent issues. The findings reveal that digital da’wah serves as a form of non-clinical psychological therapy, directly reaching the emotions and spirituality of youth. Content delivered with a light tone, engaging visuals, and empathetic messaging effectively uplifts the spirit, calms the soul, and strengthens teenagers’ religious identity. The role of digital preachers extends beyond delivering religious teachings; they now act as spiritual counselors offering a safe space for teens to express their struggles. This study concludes that communicative and adaptive da’wah content is an effective form of spiritual intervention that supports adolescent mental health in the digital ageThis study shows that preaching through social media has a significant influence in shaping better Muslim personalities, both in terms of religious understanding, increasing worship, and changing behavior in accordance with Islamic values.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is a complex social issue in the modern era. Deviant behaviors such as gang fights, drug abuse, and promiscuity pose serious challenges to the moral development of youth. Islamic da'wah emerges as a strategic solution to nurture the spiritual and moral aspects of adolescents through approaches relevant to the dynamics of contemporary society. This study aims to analyze the role of contemporary da'wah in reducing juvenile delinquency, focusing on the strategies, methods, and effectiveness of its implementation. Employing a qualitative library research method, the study explores various literature sources on da'wah strategies, behavior change theories, and psychosocial dynamics of adolescents. The findings reveal that da'wah utilizing digital media, encouraging interactive communication, and involving community participation is more effective in positively influencing youth behavior. Furthermore, the success of da'wah depends on the da'i’s ability to understand the psychological conditions of adolescents and apply non-dogmatic approaches. Therefore, da'wah not only functions as a transmitter of religious values but also as a social agent capable of shaping youth character and social responsibility

Abstract

The phenomenon of stylish da'wah popularized by Hanan Attaki and celebrity preachers in Indonesia demonstrates a shift in da'wah authority from traditional ulama (Islamic scholars) to more personal and interactive digital figures, utilizing social media to reach a wider audience, especially the younger generation. The popularity of these preachers presents challenges to religious legitimacy, where da'wah messages are often influenced by image and persona appeal, leading to new negotiations between Islamic values, popular culture, and traditional authority. The qualitative approach based on literature review in this study reveals that digital da'wah is not merely a communication innovation but also a dynamic space that reflects the transformation and complexity of contemporary da'wah in Indonesia.
