Abstract

One of the alternative energies that can be developed is hydrogen. To obtain hydrogen gas by decomposing air compounds (H2O) into hydrogen hydrogen oxygen gas (HHO) through electrolysis. considering the limited energy from the currently available mining materials is increasingly depleted. In order to overcome the above, one solution is to utilize the existence of alternative energy forms by utilizing electrical energy in the form of hydrogen gas stored in H2 which also comes from air (H2O) which can now be used for energy. Through this method, a catalyst is added to improve combustion efficiency in the HHO generator and after research, the addition of 14 grams of catalyst was able to increase energy as seen from the height of the flame 16 mm from the electrolysis process.

Abstract

At this time the need for metals, especially iron and steel in the industrial world is increasing. One that is widely used is cast iron, there are several types of cast iron, namely gray cast iron, white cast iron, malleable cast iron, nodular cast iron. Nodular cast iron is included in the cast iron class, this type of cast iron is now widely used as a substitute for steel for machine components such as agricultural machinery, automotive, construction and others. For this reason, research was conducted to determine the level of hardness and impact of nodular cast iron (ductile cast iron) FCD-50. In this study, where the hardness test is used as the basis for research to determine the resistance of materials (tensile strength) and changes in the microstructure formed in nodular cast iron (ductile cast iron) FCD-50. This study uses the Heat Treatment method where the cooling process uses oil media. And after the process, a hardness test is carried out. The results of the study obtained were an increase in hardness value from 23.66 HRC to 56.07 HRC. The changes that occurred were greatly influenced by the oil cooling media and holding temperature (holding time) in the isothermal holding pattern.

Abstract

CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) components have several components that must be considered, one of which is the roller component that is often used on the 2013 Beat automatic motorbike. The rollers found on automatic motorbikes consist of two types. The rollers have different masses on both parts. Based on the mass of the two types of rollers, a study was conducted using the experimental method, which is a form of study to find cause and effect (causal relationship) between two factors by eliminating or reducing or setting aside other interfering factors. The study was conducted to determine the effect of replacing the roller with a mass of 15 grams on power, torque and top speed on the 2013 Honda Beat motorbike. The testing tool used in this study used a dynamometer that was able to analyze the effect of roller mass on the power generated by the automatic motorbike and also the centrifugal force of the roller. The lighter the roller weight, the smaller the centrifugal force generated. However, at high engine speeds, centrifugal force will decrease faster than rollers that have a heavier weight. The torque obtained in the use of 13 gram and 15 gram rollers respectively is 9.24 Nm, 8.79 Nm obtained at 6000 rpm engine speed. While the top speed obtained from the use of 13 gram roller is 75.06 km / h in 1 second, and the top speed achieved by the 15 gram roller is 78.65 km / h in 1 second.

Abstract

The condition of the HD785-7 unit which is more than 30,000 hourmeters old and the working environment is difficult, and there has never been any checking and maintenance on the exhaust gas temperature, this causes the exhaust gas temperature sensor and electrical system to be neglected which results in inaccurate reading of the exhaust gas temperature value in the VHMS (Vehicle Health Monitoring System) which makes the achievement of IA (Intelligence Availability) worsen for the HD785-7 unit at PT Pamapersada Nusantara on the KPCS site. After making observations through the data, an implementation of the exhaust gas temperature value improvement program was carried out by placing the exhaust gas temperature sensor properly, routable the VHMS (Vehicle Health Monitoring System) wiring harness, and repairing the exhaust gas temperature system wiring with the target of reducing the number of error and abnormal readings on the exhaust gas temperature value in the VHMS (Vehicle Health Monitoring System), so that the achievement of IA (Intelligence Availability) is in accordance with the target of the KPCS site of PT Pamapersada Nusantara, which is 75%. After the exhaust gas temperature value improvement program was carried out and monitoring of the IA (Intelligence Availability) data was carried out, the error reading and abnormal values ​​​​of the exhaust gas temperature decreased to 56.75%, the result was that the IA (Intelligence Availability) achievement increased to 83.85% and reached the IA (Intelligence Availability) achievement target from PT Pamapersada Nusantara, which was 75%.

Abstract

In the utilization of natural products, one of which is stone, has a variety of functions and many industrial sectors require these products with certain sizes and specifications. The high demand must of course be in line with the availability of products of course with a variety of market demand criteria. From the industrial sector, careful planning needs to be done such as the risk when running production. Determining the right tool is needed to be optimal. As well as being able to maintain commitment to customers. The productivity of Stone Crusher plays a full role as the selling point of the stone products produced. Of course, understanding the production capacity of the tool is very necessary to maintain commitment with consumers and minimize the non-achievement of consumer demand. In the stone crusher project in Medan based on the analysis of production of 100 tons / hour or 71.42 m3 / hour for 8 hours of production with a stone density of 1400 kg / m3, the transport capacity is 200 m3 / day.

Abstract

The rapid growth has an impact on consumer demand for quality products, high quality and safe for consumption. In the production of cup packaged beverages after a series of product manufacturing processes are completed until they are released to the next process, bad seal leaking products are still found (poor sealing). Bad seal leaks are caused by a poor sealing process so that the product is not evenly sealed and results in packaging leakage considering that it can damage the quality and quality of the product. This research uses a real experimental method (True Experimental Research) using tensile testing with a Tensile Strenght Test tool. After conducting experiments on the appropriate settings to reduce the occurrence of bad seals in the filling machine sealing process, a parameter of 7 bar is set for each heater block, at the baket rotation speed setting after analyzing the parameter data carried out by the filling operator and QC line and conducting experiments, the appropriate parameter setting is obtained to reduce the occurrence of bad seal products, namely speed 5 (20 rpm) with a sealing process of 0.16 seconds, with the temperature that has been analyzed, a temperature of 200 ℃ is obtained as the appropriate standard temperature.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of knowing the impact of the addition of activated carbon in the electrolysis process on the temperature and area of the fire color zone. This research uses an HHO generator with variations in the mixture of salt and activated carbon with a time of 5, 10, and 15 seconds. This research was conducted experimentally with a plate spacing of 1.5 mm and the highest temperature of 154.8⁰C in the salt mixture. The average area of the largest flame color zone is in the salt mixture of 33.75 mm2.

Abstract

Waste is a problem in Indonesia, both organic and non-organic waste. Bambo powder is an organic waste that can still be utilized to produce energy using the pyrolysis method. The research aims to utilize bambo waste to produce tar using pyrolysis process with temperature variation and with the addition of zeolite. The research method uses 200 g of bamboo powder with a moisture content of less than 2% and 40 g of zeolite and a heating process with a duration of 3 hours. The pyrolysis gas was condensed to obtain tar. The research produced the most tar products at a temperature of 550 ⁰C as much as 57 milli and 72 milli in the addition of zeolite. In the pure pyrolysis process, the highest calorific value was obtained at a temperature of 450 ⁰C amounting to 149.27 (cal/g) at the addition of zeolite, the highest calorific value was obtained at a temperature of 550 ⁰C amounting to 248.29 (cal/g). This shows that adding zeolite to the pyrolysis process can increase the amount of tar when compared to pure pyrolysis both in quality and quantity.

Abstract

Biogas is a widely recognized alternative energy source among Indonesian communities. It is produced through the anaerobic fermentation of livestock manure and water, and can be combined with other organic waste materials to enhance gas production. The addition of organic waste in biogas production has been shown to significantly influence the quantity and quality of the resulting gas output. Therefore, this research was conducted by introducing coffee dreg waste into the process to evaluate its effect on the production of methane (CH₄) and carbon dioxide (CO₂), using MQ-4 and MQ-135 gas sensors for detection. Data analysis revealed that the chemical components present in the added coffee dregs effectively increased the reaction rate during biogas production. This was demonstrated by the highest methane concentration achieved by the specimen with the largest coffee dreg content (444), reaching 247.033 ppm. Meanwhile, the highest carbon dioxide concentration was obtained from the specimen with a smaller amount of coffee dreg addition (441), measuring 141.202 ppm.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengembangkan sistem berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) menggunakan sensor piezoelektrik untuk menganalisis frekuensi dan amplitudo getaran secara real-time pada blower ventilator guna mendeteksi keausan mekanis dan dampaknya terhadap penurunan laju aliran udara serta efisiensi blower. Sensor piezoelektrik dipilih karena kemampuannya yang tinggi dalam mengubah getaran mekanis menjadi sinyal listrik, sehingga mampu mendeteksi getaran terkecil sekalipun. Data dari sensor dianalisis secara real-time untuk mengidentifikasi tanda awal kerusakan mekanis yang memengaruhi performa mesin. Deteksi dini ini memungkinkan tindakan pemeliharaan yang lebih efektif dan efisien, mencegah kecelakaan kerja, serta menjaga keamanan proses sandblasting. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan pada pola frekuensi getaran antara dua blower. Blower 1 memiliki frekuensi dan amplitudo getaran yang lebih tinggi dibanding blower 2, yang mengindikasikan adanya getaran kuat yang memengaruhi kinerja blower. Hasil uji laju aliran udara juga menunjukkan blower 1 memiliki aliran udara yang lebih rendah dibanding blower 2. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa frekuensi dan amplitudo getaran yang tinggi dapat menjadi indikator penurunan performa dan efisiensi blower ventilator.
