Abstract

Parental involvement is a crucial factor in shaping students’ motivation in learning Islamic Religious Education, which emphasizes both cognitive understanding and the internalization of religious values. This study aims to analyse the role of parents in enhancing students’ motivation in Islamic Religious Education from an ecological perspective. A qualitative research approach was employed, and the study was conducted at SDN Kadusirung II, Bogor Regency. Data were collected through in depth, semi structured interviews with parents of students and an Islamic Religious Education teacher, selected using purposive sampling. The data were analysed thematically using the interactive model of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that parents play interconnected roles as educators, motivators, facilitators, and learning guides by monitoring learning activities, modelling positive religious behaviour, providing motivational encouragement, creating supportive learning environments, and utilizing accessible learning resources, including digital media. These roles contribute significantly to students’ enthusiasm, persistence, and positive attitudes toward learning. Despite time and academic limitations, consistent parental involvement was found to be essential in sustaining students’ learning motivation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify learning styles that show the highest level of achievement and describe students’ mathematical concept comprehension abilities in circle-related content based on visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. A total of 9 selected students from a total of 26 high school students participated in interviews, conceptual comprehension ability tests, and questionnaires as part of the qualitative descriptive methodology of this study. Based on the findings, 73.08% of students fell into the middle category, 11.54% into the low category, and 15.38% into the high category. There were 11 students with visual learning styles, including 2 in the low category, 8 students in the middle category, and 1 student in the high category. There were 7 students with auditory learning styles who only showed achievements in 2 categories, namely 5 in the middle category and 2 in the high category. There were 5 students with kinesthetic learning styles, among which 1 was in the low category and 4 in the middle category, with none reaching the high category. Therefore, it can be said that the kinesthetic learning type showed the lowest achievement, while the auditory learning style produced the highest achievement. The findings of this study also support the idea that learning style is not the only factor that influences the understanding of mathematical concepts, other additional factors include motivation, prior knowledge, and the teaching methods used.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the mathematical problem-solving abilities of Grade X students at SMKN 2 Sarolangun in terms of their Adversity Quotient (AQ), which consists of three types: Quitter, Camper, and Climber. The focus of the study is to determine the characteristics of students' problem-solving abilities for each AQ type. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with triangulation data collection techniques, including a questionnaire to measure students' AQ levels, a written test in the form of essay questions on the subject of Two Variable Linear Equation Systems (SPLDV) to measure problem-solving abilities, and interviews with students and teachers as supporting data. Data analysis was conducted in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the two students with the Quitter type had low AQ scores and demonstrated weaknesses in the problem-solving stage, particularly in understanding problems, formulating plans, and verifying results. The eight students with the Camper type had moderate AQ scores and were able to understand problems and formulate mathematical models correctly, but often stopped before reaching the final solution and rarely checked their work. Meanwhile, students with the Climber type, numbering 15, had high AQ scores and demonstrated the most comprehensive problem-solving abilities, from understanding problems, planning strategies, implementing systematic steps, to carefully checking their answers. Adversity Quotient plays an important role in distinguishing the level of resilience and quality of students' mathematical problem-solving

Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of teaching materials in the form of student worksheets assisted by grattage techniques in the context of local culture using bar chart material. This study uses a research and development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques in this study include documentation, questionnaires, observation, and interviews. The validity test results obtained 96.7% for the “very valid” category of material, 96% for the “very valid” category of language, and 98.1% for the “very valid” category of media. The practicality test results were 96.7% in the “very practical” category by educators, 89.7% in the “very practical” category by small group students, and 84.3% in the “very practical” category by large class students. The results of the effectiveness test showed that all students in the small group achieved the Minimum Passing Grade (MPG) of 6 people, while in the large class, 14 people (70%) achieved the MPG and 6 people (30%) did not achieve the MPG. The results of the effectiveness questionnaire for small group students obtained 89.4% and large group students obtained 83.3% in the “very effective” category. It can be concluded that these mathematics worksheets are valid, practical, and effective for use in mathematics learning.
