Abstract

Prose is a type of Arabic literature, the aim of which is to convey a writer's ideas and thoughts to the reader or audience. However, the prose is not tied to wazans and qofiyah, it looks like classic Arabic poetry. Prose has existed since the ignorant period and continues to develop into modern times. Through this long process, prose has developed according to its times, one of which is al maqolah (essay) which has developed in modern times. This development could not be separated from the western influence that dominated the Arab world at that time. This article will discuss how Arabic prose has developed in modern times by using bibliographic methods to investigate various sources of information related to problems.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis jenis-jenis saja’ dalam Maulid Sharaf al-Anam dengan menggunakan pendekatan teori Balaghah. Maulid Sharaf al-Anam, yang terdiri dari 50 halaman dan mengandung 12 puisi dengan doa dan puji-pujian kepada Nabi Muhammad SAW, menjadi fokus analisis dalam konteks nilai sastra. Pendekatan teori Balaghah digunakan untuk memahami penggunaan saja’ dalam teks tersebut. Fokus penelitian mencakup identifikasi jenis-jenis saja’ dalam Maulid Sharaf al-Anam dan eksplorasi signifikansi penggunaan saja’ dalam konteks maulid. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dan deskriptif. Pengumpulan data melibatkan membaca secara cermat Maulid Sharaf al-Anam untuk mengidentifikasi kata-kata yang menunjukkan asonansi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan langkah-langkah seperti identifikasi data, klasifikasi data, penyajian data, dan analisis mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam karya Maulid Sharaf al-Anam karya Syekh Shihab al-Din al-Harir, terdapat bentuk-bentuk saja’yang mencakup Saja’ Mutharraf, Saja’ Mutawazi, dan Saja’ Murashasha’. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada pemahaman tentang kekayaan sastra dalam Maulid Sharaf al-Anam, serta memperluas wawasan penggunaan saja’ dalam konteks teks keagamaan. Implikasi penelitian ini dapat menjadi acuan untuk penelitian lebih lanjut dalam bidang Balaghah dan sastra keagamaan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada kajian al-Istisna’ dengan illa dalam surah al-Taubah, Penelitian ini termasuk Penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan bahasa Arab. Data terdiri dari data primer berupa ayat al-Qur’an sedangkan data sekundernya bersumber dari kitab-kitab, hasil-hasil penelitian, jurnal, majalah serta dokumen-dokumen yang lain yang terikat dengan. cara kajian serta pemahaman data yang dipakai yakni kajian sintaksis adalah dengan meninjau tiap-tiap yang terdiri dari separuh peraturan mengenai al-Istisna’dengan berdasarkan pada teori-teori sintaksis secara umum. Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan al-Istisna’  dengan Illah dalam surah al-Taubah terulang sebanyak 22 kali yang terdapat di 19 ayat dengan berbagai jenis yaitu: al-Istisna al-Tam sebanyak 5 kali, al-Istisna al-Muafarrag 18 kali, al-Istisna al-Mujab 1 kali, al-Istisna Ghairu Mujab sebanyak 21 kali dan al-Istisna al-Muttasil sebanyak 5 kali serta tidak didapatkan al-Istisna’ al-Munqati’ Sementara berdasarkan hukum-hukum al-Mustasna’ dengan illa dalam surah al-Taubah terdiri dari wajib di-i’rab mansub atas dasar al-Istisna’ sebanyak 1 kali, boleh di- i’rab mansub atas dasar al-Istisna dan boleh juga di-i’rab al-Badlu kepada al-Mustasna’ minhunya sebanyak 4 kali, sementara yang di-i’rab sesuai dengan yang dituntut oleh amil sebelumnya sebanyak 16 kali

Abstract

This study explores how patriarchal power is represented in two cross-cultural films: The Stoning of Soraya M. and Perempuan Berkalung Sorban (The Woman with the Turban). The main focus lies on the symbolic roles of stoning and the turban as tools of female oppression. Stoning is depicted as a harsh and permanent form of patriarchal control, legitimized through religious interpretations in the context of Iranian society. In contrast, the turban serves as a symbol of ideological dominance within the pesantren (Islamic boarding school) structure in Indonesia, subtly reinforcing gender hierarchy through education and religious narratives. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach and comparative literary analysis, this study reveals that both symbols—despite differing in form and intensity—function as mechanisms for legitimizing male authority: one through acts of violence, the other through the internalization of doctrine. The female characters in both films demonstrate resistance using different strategies: Soraya through symbolic defiance within an oppressive theocratic society, and Annisa through active rebellion via education and intellectual freedom. This analysis contributes a fresh perspective to feminist film studies by highlighting the role of cultural symbols in either sustaining or challenging gender-based oppression. Moreover, the study encourages a critical re-evaluation of religious and cultural interpretations that uphold patriarchal systems, offering deeper insight for broader feminist discourse and social transformation through visual media.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and compare the representation of homeland and resistance in two songs from different cultures: “Mother” from Russia and “We Will Not Go Down” from Palestine. Songs are regarded as a form of oral literature rich in symbolic, ideological, and emotional meaning. Using Stuart Hall’s theory of representation and content analysis methods, this study examines how the image of the “mother” as a symbol of the homeland and resistance to oppression is constructed in the lyrics of both songs. The results show that the Russian song emphasizes emotional nationalism through metaphors of nature and motherhood, while the Palestinian song emphasizes a narrative of struggle using diction of resistance and symbols of destroyed homes and places of worship. These stylistic differences demonstrate that representation in song is highly influenced by each culture’s historical, political, and social context. This study also reinforces Hall’s theory that meaning is constructed through cultural processes, and expands the scope of comparative literature studies in cross-cultural musical contexts. These findings are essential in understanding that musical literature can serve as a medium for expressing identity and resistance across geographical and ideological boundaries

Abstract

Tashghir is an important morphological process in Arabic that not only functions to diminish meaning, but also to convey nuances of insult, affection, and closeness. Arabs often use nicknames in the concept of tashghir. The findings of the study show that in this context, terms or nicknames are often used to refer to individuals in a softer or more affectionate way. Like the term Zuhair which means small flower/blooming flower, which symbolizes beauty and elegance. In this concept of tashghir, several important aspects can be found in Arabic, especially in the use of names and terms. By using a Sociolinguistic approach, this study provides an understanding of the social and cultural context of the use of tashghir. This study aims to examine the function of tashghir in the formation of Arab nicknames, in a social and cultural context. The approach used is qualitative with sociolinguistic analysis that includes morphology that can examine the use of tashghir in nicknames that reflect social relations, norms, and cultural values in Arab society, so that it can create closeness and intimacy between individuals.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the forms of Plural Qillah in the letter of Luqman through morphological analysis. Plural Qillah is one of the categories of plural estimates in Arabic which indicates a small number, generally between three and ten, with certain morphological patterns such as  Af'aal, Af'ul, Af'ilah This study uses a qualitative-descriptive method with an approach to analyzing the text of the Qur'an, especially in the letter of Luqman. The results of the study show that Luqman's letter contains several phrases that follow the qillah plural pattern, including (abhur), (aqlaam),  (aswaat),  (af’idah), and (arhaam). Morphological analysis shows that the choice of the qillah plural form in Luqman's letter not only functions grammatically, but also provides a stylistic effect and strengthens the message of meaning in the verse. In addition, there is a phenomenon of deviation between the morphological form and the literal meaning of the number in several phrases, which enriches the beauty and rhetorical power of the language of the Qur'an. This study emphasizes the importance of morphological studies in understanding the message and uniqueness of the language structure of the Qur'an.
