Abstract

This study was conducted to see how artificial intelligence is utilized in developing digital da'wah content. The main focus of this study is to understand how artificial intelligence (AI) is utilized in developing digital da'wah content and to identify the challenges faced by artificial intelligence (AI) in digital da'wah. The method used in this study is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The SLR approach is applied to find, evaluate, and interpret all relevant research related to interesting phenomena in this topic, with an emphasis on appropriate research questions. By applying the SLR Method, journals can be analyzed and identified systematically, following the steps or protocols that have been set at each stage. The results of the study show that based on the SLR Method, the Artificial Intelligence/Chatbot that is most widely studied by researchers focuses on Websites and AI Applications. In addition, the most common challenges faced are ethical issues and data privacy security.

Abstract

The prevalence of sexual violence in today’s society is frequently highlighted in mass media, further amplified by the advancement of technology. While such news should ideally serve as beneficial information to foster empathy and caution, the current landscape of sexual violence reporting is deeply concerning. Mass media often exposes explicit details of sexual activities, leading to reports that contain obscene elements. Journalistic practices should strictly adhere to the Journalistic Code of Ethics (KEJ); specifically, Article 4 as regulated by the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) prohibits the publication of false, sadistic, and obscene content. This article interprets that news should not provide vulgar descriptions of sexual acts through imagery or text that could incite lust. Motivated by these issues, this study examines how mass media, particularly online media with its heterogeneous nature, should frame reports on sexual violence. The research addresses two primary problems: the framing of sources' statements in sexual violence news on Serambinews.com and the media’s partiality in reporting issues involving both male and female victims. Utilizing a qualitative approach with Robert N. Entman’s critical framing analysis encompassing Define Problem, Diagnose Causes, Make Moral Judgment, and Treatme Recommendation the findings indicate that the studied media still violates Article 4 of the PWI Journalistic Code of Ethics. This is evidenced by news texts that frame sexual violence with obscene elements and provide vulgar descriptions of sexual activities.

Abstract

Suluk rituals in the Sufi tradition constitute spiritual practices rich in religious symbols that function as a medium for shaping and transforming the spiritual consciousness of Muslim communities. This article aims to analyze the symbolic meanings embedded in suluk rituals and their role in transforming both spiritual and social consciousness among participants. This study employs a library research methodology with a qualitative-descriptive approach, examining classical Sufi texts and relevant scholarly literature. The findings indicate that the main symbols in suluk—such as the mursyid, the kelambu (veil), and the tasbih (prayer beads)—serve educational, psychospiritual, and social functions. The mursyid acts as a spiritual guide and psychosocial regulator, the kelambu represents an awareness of death that is reflective and therapeutic in nature, while the tasbih symbolizes disciplined remembrance (dhikr) with implications for mental health and moral character formation. Overall, suluk rituals form an integrative symbolic system that fosters individual spiritual awareness as well as collective social consciousness within Muslim society.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the argumentative structure of the Islamic preaching communication message in the Friday Sermon by integrating Aristotle's rhetorical perspective and Toulmin's argumentation model. This study uses a qualitative approach with thematic analysis method on purposively selected Friday Sermon texts. The results of the study indicate that the Islamic preaching message in the Friday Sermon is constructed through a balance of logos, ethos, and pathos elements. The logos element appears dominant through the use of Qur'anic and Hadith arguments linked to logical reasoning, while the preacher's ethos is formed through normative opening and consistent religious references that strengthen the moral authority of the message deliverer. Meanwhile, pathos is presented proportionally through the language of warnings, motivation, and moral appeals that touch the emotional dimension of the congregation. In Toulmin's framework, the structure of Islamic preaching argumentation consists of claims in the form of moral appeals, data based on naqli arguments, warrants as logical reasoning, backing in the form of contextual examples, and qualifiers in the form of practical invitations

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has driven significant changes in the mass media industry, particularly print media. The decline in newspaper circulation and the shift in people's information consumption patterns to digital platforms have required media companies to adapt. This study aims to analyze the transformation process of Suara Merdeka print media to a digital platform, the strategies implemented, and the challenges faced in the process. The research method used is a qualitative approach with literature study and descriptive analysis of the development of media digitalization. The results show that the transformation was carried out through the development of an online news portal, optimization of social media, editorial convergence, and innovation of a digital-based business model. This transformation has become an important strategy in maintaining existence and competitiveness in the digital era.

Abstract

The Aceh provincial government has launched The Light of Aceh as a tourism branding strategy to highlight Aceh’s Islamic identity and cultural heritage. Within this framework, the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque emerges as the central icon of religious tourism promotion. This study aims to analyze the historical significance, architectural uniqueness, socio-economic contributions, and symbolic values of Baiturrahman in strengthening Aceh’s tourism identity. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the research draws on secondary data from academic studies, government reports, and tourism publications. Findings show that Baiturrahman serves not only as a religious site but also as a representation of Aceh’s resilience, particularly during colonial struggles and the 2004 tsunami. Its distinctive architecture featuring black domes, Islamic ornamentation, and monumental umbrellas enhances its appeal for domestic and international tourists. Moreover, the mosque contributes to local economic empowerment through halal tourism activities while reinforcing Aceh’s image as the “Veranda of Mecca.” This study concludes that Baiturrahman plays a vital role in the success of The Light of Aceh as a destination branding initiative, combining spirituality, culture, and history into a unified narrative. Recommendations highlight the need for sustainable tourism management, community empowerment, and broader international promotion of Aceh’s religious tourism.

Abstract

The phenomenon of time constraints among individuals with high activity intensity reveals a gap between spiritual needs and access to da’wah. Full-time workers, full-day students, and highly mobile urban communities often experience physical fatigue and psychological pressure that limit participation in conventional da’wah forums. These conditions require a more adaptive, contextual, and experience-oriented approach to da’wah communication.This study aims to formulate an Adaptive Da’wah Communication Model as a conceptual framework responsive to the realities of contemporary society characterized by high activity intensity. Employing a qualitative approach through library research and thematic-constructive analysis within the perspective of da’wah communication, data were derived from scholarly literature in the fields of da’wah, communication, digital media, and social transformation.The findings indicate that the Adaptive Da’wah Communication Model is structured upon six core elements: (1) the existential condition of mad’u, (2) activity-based segmentation, (3) psychological message adjustment, (4) micro-content utilization, (5) digital media transformation, and (6) on-demand accessibility. The model is operationalized through a six-stage cyclical process, ranging from identifying the condition of mad’u to evaluating audience responses.This model enables da’wah communication to remain relevant, flexible, and effective within time-constrained and high-pressure social environments. The study contributes theoretically to the development of a more contextual, adaptive, and responsive framework in da’wah communication studies.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the method of delivering da'wah in the film “Air Mata di Ujung Sajadah” (Tears at the End of the Prayer Mat) from the perspective of Charles Sanders Peirce using the symbols of sign, object, and interpretant. In addition, this study also aims to determine the message of da'wah contained in the film Air Mata di Ujung Sajadah. This research was conducted from April to August 2025 using a qualitative approach and semiotic analysis to observe and examine the film in order to identify the symbols present and identify the da'wah messages by determining the categories of aqidah messages, akhlak messages, and syariah messages. Based on the results, the study interpreted and concluded that the film “Air Mata di Ujung Sajadah” has various ways of conveying religious messages, namely 35 ways with sharia and morals, with moral messages as the most dominant category. Meanwhile, other message categories still exist but with less frequency.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze gender discrimination in the film "Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijck" from the perspective of sociology and feminism studies. The movie, adapted from a novel by Buya Hamka, depicts a tragic love story in a social context full of patriarchal cultural values. Using a qualitative approach and content analysis method, this study identifies and explores the representation of gender discrimination in the film's narrative, characters and dialog. The results of the analysis show that the film displays various forms of gender discrimination, such as gender stereotypes, subordination of women, and social control over women. These findings are analyzed using the theory of radical feminism, which highlights the role of patriarchal structures and cultural norms in the oppression of women. This research concludes that "Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijck" not only reflects the social reality of its time, but also criticizes and raises awareness about the importance of gender equality. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the study of feminism in the media and increase understanding of the importance of fairer gender representation in the film industry.
