Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the patterns of religious communication. Social media has now become a new space for preachers to convey Islamic messages more widely, quickly, and interactively. This risearch aims to analyse the role of social media in optimising religious communication in the digital era, highlighting opportunities, challenges, and effective communication strategies. The method used is a literature review, examining relevant literature on digital da'wah communication, social media, and the phenomenon of religious diversity in virtual spaces. The research findings indicate that social media can be an effective tool for expanding the reach of da'wah, building interaction with audiences, and enhancing Islamic literacy. However, on the other hand, dakwah in virtual spaces also faces challenges in the form of hoaxes, hate speech, and limited validity of information. Therefore, creative, ethical, and digital literacy-based communication strategies are needed so that dakwah on social media can have a significant positive impact.

Abstract

This research discusses the communication strategy of the Banyumas Regency Government through the Communication and Information Agency (Diskominfo) in utilising digital platforms to address the challenges of the new media era. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with literature study and documentation methods. The results indicate that Diskominfo Banyumas implements a strategy based on the Lasswell model, which includes the communicator, message content, media, audience, and effects. Platforms such as Instagram, the official website, and collaborations with local media are utilised to enhance digital literacy and reach a wide audience. The conclusion suggests that this strategy is effective in increasing public participation and strengthening digital government communication.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the contribution and role of the youth of Jama'ah Muslimin (Hizbullah) in supporting the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque, using a sociological communication approach. The main focus of the research is on the dimensions of da'wah communication, religious solidarity, and the use of media as a means of mobilising support for the Palestinian issue. Specifically, this research seeks to prove: (1) the tangible contribution of the youth of Jama'ah Muslimin (Hizbullah); and (2) the existence of their role in the movement to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque. This research was conducted on 48 young members of the Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah) in the JABODETABEK region. The method used was a descriptive qualitative approach, with data analysis techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that there is a significant contribution through da'wah activities, solidarity campaigns, and the use of social media as a tool for spreading the narrative of liberation. Additionally, their role in the struggle is evident in the form of public advocacy, the organisation of solidarity actions, and the strengthening of Islamic identity integrated with geopolitical awareness. These findings reinforce the position of Hizbullah youth as social actors in transnational religious movements through strategic communication approaches.

Abstract

Digital transformation has driven significant changes in consumer behavior and marketing strategies in Indonesia's e-commerce sector. One emerging innovation is the Live Shopping feature, an interactive live broadcast that allows sellers to interact directly with buyers. This study aims to analyze the impact of the Live Shopping feature on increasing sales in the marketplace, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. The approach used was qualitative-descriptive with secondary data obtained from industry reports, academic publications, and official sources such as BPS, Shopee, and iPrice. The results show that Live Shopping has a significant positive impact on transaction volume, customer engagement, and product trust. The findings also show that this feature enables businesses to run more effective promotions at a low cost. However, implementation challenges exist, such as the need for communication skills and technical limitations. Overall, Live Shopping has proven to be an effective and potential digital marketing tool in supporting the growth of MSMEs in the digital economy era.

Abstract

Persuasive communication is a form of communication that focuses on influencing the attitudes, beliefs, and behavior of others to align with the communicator's goals without any element of coercion. Getting portal commitment is a technique that is beginning to receive attention in modern communication studies. It is a communication strategy for generating and binding a small initial commitment (portal commitment) from the recipient, which can then be developed into a larger commitment. This article discusses the concept, theory, implementation, and effectiveness of the getting portal commitment technique in various communication contexts, such as interpersonal, organizational, business, social and political communication. Literature reviews and case studies indicate that this technique is effective because it utilizes the principle of psychological consistency, which encourages individuals to adjust their behavior according to their abilities in accordance with the initial commitment they have made. However, this technique also contains an ethical dimension that must be considered to prevent it from turning into manipulation. This article is expected to contribute to the development of persuasive communication studies and offer practical strategies for communication practitioners.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the political participation of first-time voters in the 2024 simultaneous regional elections among students of the Civic Education Study Program at Abulyatama University. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method with 10 informants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles & Huberman's interactive model (data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing). The findings reveal that political participation among novice voters varies significantly. Most students demonstrate high political awareness and actively participate in elections driven by democratic values and expectations for social change. However, some students remain apathetic due to distrust in political candidates and the electoral system. Obstacles identified include limited political literacy, environmental influences, and inadequate technical facilities during elections. This study highlights the importance of enhancing political education within universities and strengthening institutional support to foster novice voters’ political participation.

Abstract

Budaya akademik yang berkarakter merupakan fondasi penting dalam membangun kualitas pendidikan tinggi yang tidak hanya berorientasi pada kecerdasan intelektual, tetapi juga pada integritas moral dan spiritual. Etika komunikasi Islam, yang bersumber dari Al-Qur’an, hadis, dan tradisi keilmuan Islam, menekankan prinsip kejujuran, amanah, keadilan, dan kesantunan dalam menyampaikan pesan. Peniltian  ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana implementasi etika komunikasi Islam dapat menjadi instrumen strategis dalam membentuk budaya akademik yang berkarakter di lingkungan perguruan tinggi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kajian pustaka (library research) dengan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan etika komunikasi Islam dalam interaksi akademik, baik antara dosen dan mahasiswa maupun antar civitas akademika, mampu membangun suasana akademik yang kondusif, produktif, serta berorientasi pada akhlak mulia.

Abstract

  This study aims to analyze the dynamics of the formation of digital communities and virtual identities in the context of social media. The background of this study is the widespread use of social media that encourages the birth of digital communities based on shared interests, which contribute to the construction of virtual identities of its users. The research method uses a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of participants who are active in digital communities in the city of Bandung. The results of the study show that digital communities are formed on the basis of shared interests, facilitating intensive interactions that allow individuals to build virtual identities through digital symbols, adjustments to community norms, and adaptation strategies to social dynamics such as fanwars or differences of opinion. The virtual identities that are formed are more flexible, bold, and often different from identities in the real world. The conclusion of this study is that digital communities play an important role in the formation of dynamic virtual identities, as a reflection of the ever-evolving digital social interactions.

Abstract

The learning environment plays a central role in shaping students’ character and religious understanding in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). However, most previous studies have primarily focused on curriculum and teaching methods, leaving the dimension of contextual communication largely unexplored. This article aims to examine the role of contextual learning communication in strengthening the applied understanding of religious knowledge among santri. This research adopts a library research approach by reviewing relevant literature, journals, and academic works related to educational communication, pesantren, and religious value internalization. The data were analyzed descriptively and analytically to identify the patterns, functions, and contributions of contextual communication in pesantren education. The findings reveal that dialogical, participatory, and context-based communication effectively bridges the gap between religious theory and practical life. Effective communication enhances not only cognitive understanding but also reflective moral and spiritual awareness. The study concludes that strengthening contextual communication within the pesantren learning environment is a strategic step in developing a more humanistic, adaptive, and contextual Islamic education model. This article contributes to Islamic education discourse by positioning communication as a transformative tool for value internalization and the development of a religiously grounded character.
