Abstract

Mangrove forests existed in Village Belawan Sicanang have been many experienced land conversion as embankment and settlements. These conditions led to degradation in habitat quality. The research aimed to know mangrove species composition and to know mangrove community structure. The research took place in May  June 2016. The method used in the determination of the location is purposive sampling and divided into 3 stations based on different activities. Analysis of mangrove vegetation derived mangrove density, relative density, mangrove frequency, relative frequency, dominance, relative dominance, importance value index, diversity index, and evenness index. The results showed that the composition of mangrove species found eleven species of true mangroves that are Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Bruguiera hainessii, Ceriops tagal, Nypa fruticans, Sonneratia alba, Sonneratia caseolaris, Xylocarpus granatum, Rhizophora apiculata dan Rhizophora mucronata. The mangrove forest located in Village Belawan Sicanang is classified on very tight criteria where mangrove density ≥ 1500 ind/ha, the relative dominance ≥ 75%, and the mangrove community were in stable condition.Keywords : Mangrove, Species Composition, Community Structure

Abstract

Dusun Paluh Merbau is one of 13 villages at Desa Tanjung Rejo Kabupaten Deli Serdang with covering area of 4.114 Ha. Rapid population growth directly caused a pressure on natural resources. The purpose of this research was to describe the causes of mangrove ecosystem damage and mangrove ecosystem management strategy at Dusun Paluh Merbau Desa Tanjung Rejo Kabupaten Deli Serdang. This research was held from April to Mei 2016. It used descriptive qualitative method and SWOT Analysis for sustainable mangrove ecosystem management strategy. Mangrove species found were Rhizophora apiculata, Bruguiera cylindra, Avicennia marina, and Lumnitzera racemosa. Activities at mangrove ecosystem caused some damages in Dusun Paluh Merbau such asdeveloping agriculture, aquaculture, settlement and it’s supported by weakness of law enforcement. SWOT analysis quadrant for mangrove ecosystem management at Dusun Paluh Merbau is in 3rd quadrant that means this village has opportunity butit hasthe internal weakness too, so that difficult to achieve profitable opportunity. Turn Arround Quadrant brings in the W-O strategy as the priority alternative strategy for mangrove ecosystem sustainable management; socializing or awareness to the community about the importance of integrated sustainable natural resources management (W1, W2, W3, W4, O1, O2, O3, O4) gained the highest score 3,11.Keywords : Dusun Paluh Merbau, Management Strategy, Mangrove, SWOT Analysis.

Abstract

Mangroves serve as a habitat organism aquatic, one of which is Macrozoobenthos. The abundance of Macrozoobenthos are very dependent on the power of tolerance to environmental changes. This research was aimed to analyzed density of Mangrove and how a relation with abundance of macrozoobenthos in the coastal village of Jaring Halus. This research is done in December 2016 to Januari 2017. The study used purposive random sampling method by taking and observation of mangrove vegetation, abundance of macrozoobenthos, and measurement of water quality parameters. Data analysis included analysis of mangrove vegetation, analysis of macrozoobenthos, analysis of water quality and analysis of the substrate. Found 11 species of mangrove with density at Station I 5.166 ind/ha, Station II 4.066 ind/ha and Station III 1.567 ind/ha. For macrozoobenthos found 16 species are the research site at Station I 249 ind/m2, Station II 167 ind/ m2 and Station III 147 ind/ m2. The Relationship of Mangrove’s Density and Macrozoobenthos Abundance in the coastal village of Jaring Halus indicated by the equation y = 0,0808x + 24,225 with R2 of 0,7526 and r = 0,867. And the Relationship of organic materials and Macrozoobenthos Abundance indicated by the equation y = 93,20 x – 323,8 with R2 of 0,776 and r = 0,881. Abstract

Mangrove forest is a plant species whose life is still affected by sea tides. Mangrove forest is also a habitat of aquatic biota. In Kampung Nipah the utilization of Mangrove Forest is utilized as marine tourism. Utilization of mangrove forest that is not environmentally friendly is feared will threaten the preservation of mangrove forest ecosystem. The purpose of this research is to know the composition of mangrove species and mangrove vegetation structure which is currently viewed from Index of Density, Domination, Frequency, Importance Value Index, Diversity Index, and Mangrove Sharpness Index and Mangrove environmental condition in Kampung Nipah at Sei Nagalawan Village. This research was conducted for two months from December 2016 until January 2017. The method used to determine the location of sampling using Purposive Sampling at 3 stations. Abstract

The river is a stream of water across the surface of the earth and forming grooves or morphology stream water flow and has a good prospect to be developed as a nature tourist attraction. Langkatdistrict have a potential area into a tourist attraction that is Bukit Lawang.This study aims to determine the role of ecotourism related to socioeconomic, knowing the water quality associated with Capability Areas and Tourism Suitability Index, and knowing the strategy of sustainable management welfare of the public Bukit Lawang.This study Hwas held for one month, in January 2017 in the village of Bukit Lawang Bahorok Langkat District of North Sumatra.The results showed that the water qualityfor 6 parameters observed is good and in accordance with the carrying capacity of the region and can be seen in value to the activity of natural bath is 125 people / day,activity relaxing seating 240 people / day and rafting activities 105 / day as well as an index of conformity travel with the results of S2 (Match), the linkage with economic social travel the waters can be seen from the results of Return Cost Ratio R / C of value ≥ 1 where business mean to be positive and feasible to continue the effort lodging, souvenir shop, rafting guides, tire leasing, rental stalls except the restaurant business travel which results Benefit Cost Ratio B / C ≤ 1 means the business is worth negative and is not feasible to continue.Keywords: Bukit Lawang, Water Quality, Revenue, Return Cost Ratio R / C.

Abstract

Toba Lake is one of tourism destination aim in North Sumatera Province. The research to know carrying capacity region Paris Beach tourism, conformity of environment as tourism and tourists perception to Paris Beach potention as one of tourism destination and alternative strategy for development tourism region. This research has been carried out in the Paris Beach Village of Tigaras, District of Dolok Pardamean, Regency of Simalungun on February 2017 by analyzing parameter of water quality as such water themperature, water brightness, current speed, pH, DO, BOD, and Total Coliform. The results are showed all parameters meet the water quality standards on PP No. 82 Tahun 2001. Paris Beach is classified very approviate as tourism region with tourism index 83. 33%. The alternative strategy to develope the tourisme is y conducting a good promotion to expose resources and potention of Paris Beach, region government and central government realization gevern plan of Danau Toba Toursm.Key word : corresponding tourism index, carrying capacity region, SWOT

Abstract

The purpose ofthis research was todeterminethe potential andcondition of the resourcethatcan be performed onthe mangrove ecosystemin Kelurahan Belawan Sicanang village andassess the appropriateness andthe carrying capacity ofmangrove ecosystemsfor the management ofmangroveecotourismin Kelurahan Belawan Sicanang village. Based on research, the mangrove ecosystem in Kelurahan Belawan Sicanang village consisted by nine speciesof mangrove, whichAcrotichum specium, Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina, bruguiera sexangula, Excoecaria agollocha, Lumnitzera littorea, Rhizopora stylosa, Soneratia caseolaris, Soneratia ovata.Generally, the density valuemost speciesof great valueisthe typeExocoecaria agollocha.The suitability index of mangrove ecosystem included into the category corresponding conditional (SB).There are two proposed location tracks, that waters track and the inlands track. Abstract

Tilavia is favorite fish consumsion by the people of indonesiaand it is very easy to cultivate because it has a sufficient level of the prospective development. The feed is a very important factor in the process enlargement fish. This research was conducted to determine the effect of feeding a mixture of pellets water kale on the growth of tilapia. Container maintenance of tilapia used mine concrate pols with 1 x 1 x 1 M2 of size and 50 liters of volume water for each pool.This research was conductedin August – November 2015 in the Binjai Town. The method user completely randomized design with treatment of pellets feed was + kale (1:3). The P1 treatment showed the best daily length growth and daily weight growth. The final result obtained the length of P1 treatment was 11,76 cm, P2 treatment was 10, 92 cm, P3 treatment was 9, 97cm, and the weight of P1 treatment was 13,15 gr, P2 treatment was 11,21 gr, P3 treatment was 9,66 gr. Abstract

The research about Aquatic Primary Productivity needs to be done, it is because by knowing the value of primary productivity in the waters, will be known fertility waters. The research was done in May 2016. The aim of this research was to knowing the value of Primary Productivity of phytoplankton in Betimus River at Deli Serdang and to analyze its relationship with the physical and chemical factors. The sampling station was determinated by Purposive sampling method. Samples were collected from 3 sampling station. The result showed that of primary productivity range from 100,096-250,240 mg C/m3/day, the highest value was at station 3 and the lowest value was at station 1. Analysis of pearson correlation shows that the factors which have a very strong relationship with the primary productivity are DO, phosphate, nitrate, and the abundance of phytoplankton, factor which has a strong relationship with pimary productivity is temperature, and factor which has a moderate with pimary productivity is pH.Key Words: Primary Productivity, Purposive sampling method, Phytoplankton.

Abstract

The research about parameter analysis of physics and chemistry is one way to know of water quality and the value contained in the water bodies. The aim of this research paper is to learn the value of physics and chemistry content on the water and status water quality based on regulations PP 82 year 2001 in Artificial Lake Perumnas Griya Martubung, Medan City. The research done by using porpusive sampling method. Determination of water quality status on the lake using STORET method and table of water quality standard from regulations PP 82 year 2001. The measurement result shows that the physical and chemical parameter of water that isn’t pass the quality standard was temperature (32.33°C); brightness (15-18 cm); TSS/Total Suspended Solid (256 to 188 mg/L); the degree of acidity/pH (6.5 mg/L); nitrate/NO3-N (0.2 to 0.36 mg/L); phosphate/P (0.81 to 1 mg/L) and which parameter passed of quality standard is Dissolved oxygen/DO (0.26 to 0.36 mg/L); Biochemical Oxygen Demand/BOD (17 to 18.75 mg/L); total ammonia / NH3-N (8.5 to 8.9 mg/L); and oils and fats (4.5 to 8.5 mg/L). Quality status of water Artificial Lake in Griya Martubung Housing was heavily polluted for standard quality on class III water.Keywords: Artificial Lake Perumnas Griya Martubung, Water Quality, method STORET
