Abstract

Educational Play Tools (EPT) are learning media designed to support children's development through play activities. Early childhood is a critical period for growth and development, requiring appropriate stimulation to optimize various developmental aspects. This article aims to examine the utilization of Educational Play Tools in developing early childhood abilities. The method used in this article is a literature study by reviewing various books, journals, and scientific articles related to educational play tools and early childhood education. The discussion shows that Educational Play Tools provide significant benefits in developing cognitive, language, physical-motor, social-emotional, and creative abilities of children. Through the use of EPT, children can learn actively, explore their environment, solve problems, communicate effectively, and interact with others in enjoyable learning situations. However, several challenges remain, including limited facilities, lack of teacher competence in utilizing EPT, and insufficient parental involvement in supporting educational play activities. Therefore, collaboration among teachers, parents, and educational institutions is needed to optimize the use of Educational Play Tools. Proper utilization of EPT can support holistic and balanced child development, thereby helping achieve the goals of early childhood education.

Abstract

Early childhood education is a crucial foundation for developing the character and potential of children as the nation's future generation. During early childhood, children experience a golden age, which is fundamental to the development of all aspects of their personality. One crucial aspect that needs to be developed is learning motivation. However, low learning motivation in early childhood remains a problem that impacts the educational process. Factors such as uninteresting learning, conventional learning methods, and the lack of use of interactive learning media can easily lead to children becoming bored and disinterested in learning. The development of digital technology presents opportunities in education through the use of digital educational games as learning media. Digital educational games provide an interactive learning approach, engage children's attention, and actively engage children in the learning process. The role of teachers as facilitators is crucial in guiding the use of digital educational games to support the development of children's cognitive, social, and emotional skills. This study aims to determine the relationship between the use of digital educational games and children's learning motivation. This study used a literature review method, compiling various relevant sources such as journals, books, scientific articles, and previous research on digital educational games and children's learning motivation. The study results show that the use of digital educational games can increase children's motivation to learn through more interactive, fun, and engaging learning. Furthermore, digital educational games can enhance student engagement, cognitive skills, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and teacher-student interaction during the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of block play on the problem-solving abilities of early childhood students at RA Al-Ma'arif, Gorontalo City. Problem-solving ability is a fundamental aspect of cognitive development that should be nurtured from an early age, as it is closely related to logical thinking, creativity, and decision-making skills in everyday life. Block play was selected as the learning medium because it provides concrete, enjoyable, and interactive learning experiences while encouraging children to explore, observe, and develop solutions to various challenges. This research employed a quantitative approach using a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 30 children as research participants. Data were collected through observation and problem-solving ability tests and were analyzed using the t-test to determine the significance of the treatment effect. The findings revealed a significant improvement in children's problem-solving abilities after participating in block play activities. The mean pretest score increased from 55.4 to 82.7 in the posttest. Statistical analysis indicated that the calculated t value of 6.25 exceeded the critical t value of 2.06, demonstrating a statistically significant effect of block play on children's problem-solving abilities. Furthermore, the learning mastery level increased from 35% to 85%. These findings suggest that block play is an effective learning medium for enhancing logical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills among early childhood learners.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the traditional congklak game on early childhood numeracy skills at TK Beringin. The research employed a quantitative method with an experimental design using a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population consisted of all children at TK Beringin, totaling 30 children, including 10 boys and 20 girls. The sampling technique used was total sampling, meaning the entire population was included as the research sample. Data were collected through observation and numeracy skill tests administered before and after treatment using the traditional congklak game. Data analysis was conducted using the t-test to examine the effect of the treatment. The results showed an improvement in children’s numeracy skills after using the traditional congklak game, as indicated by the increase in the average pre-test score from 2.29 to a post-test score of 3.08, with a gain score of 0.78. The hypothesis test showed that the t-count value of 9.12 was greater than the t-table value of 2.045 at the 5% significance level. Thus, the traditional congklak game had a significant effect on improving early childhood numeracy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the traditional congklak game on the problem-solving abilities of early childhood students at TK Kartika, Gorontalo City. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) involving 30 children as participants. Data were collected through observation and tests to measure students’ problem-solving abilities before and after the implementation of the congklak game in the learning process. The data obtained were then analyzed using the t-test to determine the significance of the effect. The results showed a notable improvement in children’s problem-solving abilities, as indicated by the increase in the average pretest score from 55.4 to 82.7 in the posttest. The statistical analysis revealed that the calculated t-value of 6.25 was higher than the t-table value of 2.06, indicating a significant effect of the congklak game on children’s problem-solving abilities. In addition, learning mastery increased from 35% to 85%. These findings indicate that the traditional congklak game is effective in developing logical thinking and problem-solving skills in early childhood education.

Abstract

Indonesia is known as a country with a very high level of diversity, encompassing ethnic groups, religions, languages, cultures, genders, and individual abilities. This diversity is a national asset that needs to be understood and appreciated from an early age. Early Childhood Education (ECE) plays a strategic role in fostering children's understanding of diversity. This article aims to examine the forms of diversity in Indonesia, the characteristics of young children in the context of diversity, and the implications of diversity for early childhood education. The method used is a literature review (library research) by analyzing various relevant scholarly sources. The findings indicate that young children possess unique characteristics that support learning about diversity, such as high curiosity, active engagement, and a strong imagination. The implications of diversity for early childhood education require the implementation of inclusive learning practices, varied teaching methods, and the utilization of digital media and local cultural resources. Therefore, diversity should not be viewed as an obstacle but rather as an opportunity to develop a generation that is tolerant, respectful of differences, and capable of living harmoniously in a multicultural society or formula.
