Abstract

Corruption remains a major problem that hinders law enforcement and development in Indonesia. Meanwhile, public legal awareness as a means of corruption prevention has not received adequate attention. This research aims to analyze the relationship between public legal awareness and the effectiveness of corruption prevention based on a literature review of various relevant journals. The study employs a qualitative approach and selects 12 articles from a total of 20 journals, followed by data extraction regarding the variables of legal awareness and corruption prevention, and a thematic analysis of the research findings. The results of this study indicate that the low legal awareness observed is caused by weak public interaction with law enforcement. This is compounded by uncertainty in law enforcement, a culture that is permissive of violations, and a lack of legal education. Meanwhile, efforts to prevent corruption are still severely lacking due to gaps in the digital monitoring system, weak public oversight, and very minimal community participation. In conclusion, corruption prevention efforts are highly determined by the level of public legal awareness. Therefore, it is very important to be more systematic in providing community-oriented legal education.

Abstract

Pancasila, the fundamental ideology of the Indonesian nation, faces serious challenges in the era of globalization, marked by the open flow of information, technological developments, and the penetration of foreign values. Phenomena such as increasing individualism, the spread of hoaxes, and intolerance in the digital space indicate a degradation of national values rooted in Pancasila. This research aims to emphasize the urgency of strengthening Pancasila values as the nation's ideological bulwark, particularly in building the collective consciousness of the younger generation. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study highlights the importance of systematically internalizing Pancasila values through education, digital media, and social role models. The results indicate that revitalizing Pancasila values cannot be done merely formally but must be a continuous and contextual cultural process. This research is expected to make a strategic contribution to strengthening Pancasila's existence as a dynamic and relevant ideology amidst global dynamics.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the relevance of Pancasila values in the modern era and the challenges they face in national and state life. In the modern era marked by globalization and digitalization, Pancasila values face challenges such as political polarization and a national identity crisis, although they remain the foundation of Indonesian unity. This research aims to analyze the relevance of Pancasila and its implementation strategies in national and state life through a literature review. The method involved a journal search using the keywords "Pancasila in the modern era," "challenges in implementing Pancasila," and "relevance of Pancasila values" from 2020-2025, resulting in 20 articles that were narrowed down to 10 key ones. The results indicate that Pancasila is relevant through value recontextualization, integration of education, and public policy, but is hampered by polarization and conflicts of interest. The conclusion recommends innovative approaches such as digital transformation to strengthen the ideology.

Abstract

The rights and obligations of citizens are two fundamental concepts that form the foundation of national and state life. In the Indonesian context, these two aspects are not only rooted in formal legal norms such as the 1945 Constitution, but also based on the values of Pancasila, which regulate how citizens should behave in social life. This study aims to analyze the reciprocal relationship between the rights and obligations of citizens, explain the urgency of harmonizing them, and identify the main obstacles that hinder their implementation in modern society. This study uses a literature review method by analyzing five academic journals that discuss issues surrounding citizenship, democracy, Pancasila, and the implementation of rights and obligations in Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that the imbalance between rights and obligations results in social tensions, low legal awareness, and a decline in the quality of democracy. Furthermore, it was found that factors such as unequal fulfillment of rights, low civic literacy, weak character education, and inconsistent law enforcement contribute to exacerbating social disharmony. This study concludes that to achieve a harmonious social life, collaboration between the government and citizens is necessary through civic empowerment, equal access to basic rights, and increased awareness of obligations through education and consistent law enforcement.

Abstract

Progressivism and reconstructionism are two modern schools of educational philosophy that developed in response to social change and dynamic educational needs. Progressivism emphasizes education as a process oriented toward learning experiences and the active development of student potential, while reconstructionism views education as a strategic means for social change and reconstruction. This study aims to analyze the nature and principles of progressivism and reconstructionism, and to examine their relevance and position within the perspective of Islamic education. This study employed a qualitative approach with library research, with data sources consisting of modern educational philosophy literature and classical Islamic education texts. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and analytically with a comparative approach. The results indicate that both schools of thought have common ground with Islamic education, particularly in the development of students' intellectual potential, personality formation, and social responsibility. However, Islamic education has a normative foundation derived from the Qur'an and Sunnah, so acceptance of progressivism and reconstructionism is selective and critical. Therefore, both schools of thought can serve as material for dialogue and enrichment of thought in the development of Islamic education as long as they remain within the framework of Islamic values.

Abstract

The Prophet Muhammad's preaching was not only oriented toward spiritual transformation but also touched on the social and economic dimensions of Arab society. This article aims to analyze the relationship between preaching and Islamic economic principles from a socio-historical perspective as a contributing factor to the success of the Prophet Muhammad's preaching. This research uses a qualitative approach with library research, drawing on sources from the Quran, Hadith, and classical and contemporary Islamic historical and economic literature. The results indicate that Islamic economic principles such as monotheism, justice, honesty, balance, the prohibition of usury, and strengthening social solidarity through zakat and sadaqah played a significant role in building social trust and economic stability. The implementation of these principles not only improved the economic order but also strengthened the moral legitimacy of the Prophet Muhammad's preaching within the communities of Mecca and Medina. Thus, the relationship between preaching and Islamic economics is integrative and mutually reinforcing, serving as a crucial foundation for the success of Islamic preaching in its early development. This study is expected to provide a conceptual contribution to the development of Islamic preaching oriented toward social justice and the welfare of the people in the contemporary era.

Abstract

Corruption is a moral problem that is systemic in nature and persists in modern society, including within communities that claim strong religious values. This phenomenon indicates that corruption is not merely caused by weaknesses in legal or institutional systems, but is deeply rooted in moral decay and spiritual illness of the human heart. This article aims to analyze Al-Ghazali’s ethical and Sufi thought in viewing corruption as a disease of the heart, as well as to examine its relevance for contemporary Islamic education. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research methods, drawing primarily on Al-Ghazali’s major works such as Ihya’ ‘Ulum al-Din and Mizan al-‘Amal, along with relevant secondary sources. The findings reveal that Al-Ghazali regards corrupt behavior as a manifestation of inner vices, including excessive love of worldly life (hubb al-dunya), greed, and the inability to control one’s desires. From a Sufi perspective, addressing corruption requires not only external legal sanctions but also an inner process of tazkiyat al-nafs (purification of the soul), the cultivation of virtuous character, and the strengthening of spiritual awareness. This article further discusses the application of Al-Ghazali’s thought within contemporary Islamic education, including schools, pesantren, and higher education institutions, through the integration of moral education, exemplary conduct by educators, and continuous spiritual development. In conclusion, this study affirms that Al-Ghazali’s ethical and Sufi thought remains highly relevant as a foundation for Islamic character education in fostering integrity and moral consciousness, as well as serving as a preventive framework against corruption in the modern era.
