Abstract

Communication strategies need to be planned and implemented optimally to improve the quality of public services and build good coordination in carrying out public services. The purpose of this study was to find out the public service communication strategy of DISKOMINFO in Jambi City through the SiKesal application for Jambi City in 2021. This study used a qualitative research method with a case study approach with interview and documentation data collection techniques. The results of this study show that the Jambi City Diskominfo implements strategic communication according to the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. This study shows the results of how the communication strategy can affect the goals that have been set. Diskominfo aims to provide maximum public services and get satisfaction from the community; it can be proven that all reports from the people of Jambi City through the SiKesal application in 2021 have been successfully responded to.

Abstract

Dogs, or 'Anjing' in Indonesia, as animals, can become symbols, logos, mascots, or myths and turn into swearing metaphors that can take the form of support, insults, and intimidation voiced by supporters. The word 'Anjing' is packed with a different emotional emphasis, leading to a form of swearing used by football supporters in Indonesia to express emotion. This study aims to analyze when the word 'Anjing' is uttered as a form of swearing by football supporters when they are on the move by watching the match directly in the stadium. The perspectives are Emotional Anthropology and the notion of dehumanization in Acts of Violence through verbal language, namely swearing. The qualitative approach uses the ethnographic method as the primary data collection technique and observes supporters' behavior in football matches inside the stadiums to see verbal and action changes in their behavior. The findings are fourteen moments that cause supporters to swear, which are not always related to moments of success or failure in scoring. The whole swearing moment also created a strong emotion.

Abstract

The process of healing cancer will be more effective if the patient gets support and motivation from theirselves and the environment. Therefore, this research was conducted to get an overview and form of how supportive communication is carried out by volunteers with cancer patients at Rumah Pejuang Kanker Ambu Bandung. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive research. The informants in this study used a purposive sampling technique with data collection techniques used in-depth interviews and observation. The result shows that volunteers at RPKA have implemented six indicators of supportive communication for cancer patients: more concerned with what will be conveyed than assessing the person first, communicate well and talk about everything without any coercion, be honest about various patient conditions in certain ways, pay attention to the condition of each patient, embrace and not limit closeness with patients, also receive advice for better personal and performance towards patients. Communication made by volunteers has succeeded in making patients enthusiastic about carrying out daily activities and treatment, being able to think positively, accepting circumstances, and helping patients have the confidence to recover.

Abstract

This study aims to explain how much influence the intensity of accessing an Instagram account has on the followers' fulfillment of information needs. This study's population consisted of 100 Instagram followers of the Instagram account @daop6yk. The sampling technique used convenience sampling technique. The primary data was collected using a questionnaire that has undergone validity and reliability testing. The validity test was tested through the Pearson Product Moment formula, while the reliability test used Cronbach's Alpha method. Data analysis in this study used a simple linear regression analysis method. The study's findings indicate that the intensity of access positively influences the fulfillment of information needs. This is indicated by the t count of 10,889 and a significance value of 0,000 <0,05. The coefficient of determination (R2) is 0,533 or 53,3%. Thus, it can be concluded that the intensity of accessing PT KAI's Instagram account @daop6yk can influence 53,3% of followers' fulfillment of information needs, while the remaining 46,7% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Other factors that can influence followers’ fulfillment of information needs are demographic, role-related, and environment.

Abstract

Addiction to online games is a problem that has received attention from the wider community. Currently, many studies only discuss on how to deal with addiction problems in children without knowing how the communication patterns of parents to their children who are addicted to online games, in this journal the authors want to discuss interpersonal communication between parents and children who are addicted to playing online games. Because the author believe that the initial problem of children becoming addicted to online games comes from improper interpersonal communication in the family between children and their parents. This study also discusses the digital parenting system used by parents to control the level of online game addiction in children. Because no parent wants their child to fall into excessive fun when playing online games, therefore a digital parenting system is needed to control or monitor children's digital activities. In this journal, author want to compare how 2 families with different economic and educational backgrounds control the same child who is addicted to playing online mobile legends games, but there are differences in the level of addiction in children from these 2 families, in a family 1 child experiences a moderate level of addiction. Whereas in the second family the children experienced a heavy addiction. This causes differences in the communication patterns of these 2 families in dealing with children who are addicted to playing mobile legends online games.

Abstract

In Banten Province, news portals or online media are growing rapidly. There are hundreds of active online media, including; Mainstream media such as the Jawa Pos Group, Radar Banten, Banten Raya Pos, and Kompas, namely the Tribune Network. The research approach was carried out qualitatively, with descriptive analysis techniques. The data was obtained from in-depth interviews with informants who are online journalism practitioners in Pandeglang Regency, Lebak Regency, Serang City and Tangerang City, Banten Province. To convince the fact from the interview, the researcher conducted a literature study related to the locus of problems in this study. In addition, this study applied the elaboration of theory from Peter Berger and Thomas Luckmann through their book entitled The Social Construction of Reality: A Treatise in The Sociology of Knowledge (1996). The results of this study highlighted the condition of mass media companies which must be able to adapt to developing technology, including the working pattern of journalists. Online journalism demands Human Resources (HR) that are in accordance with the internet operating system because apart from journalism-based online media there is also social media whose operating system grafts onto conventional journalism. Journalists in Banten Province still adhere to the Basic Press Law Number 40 of 1999 and cyber media guidelines in their work. In addition, journalists in Banten still uphold professionalism by prioritizing ideaslime based on Akhlakul Karimah (good behaviour) when working.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the dynamics of youth image representation in A-Mild cigarette advertisements in three editions. By utilizing a qualitative descriptive research method and Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis as the main reference, the study seeks to understand how young people are portrayed in the scenes of the advertisement. The first advertisement portrays a series of events that are closely related to the lives of people, particularly youth in Indonesia. The second advertisement features youth as the main character, specifically addressing the issue of indiscriminate littering. The third advertisement depicts youth as powerful figures who are able to influence others to follow their actions. The findings of this study indicate that youth are perceived as agents of change, and their actions can have significant impact on society. This research is distinct from previous studies as it employs a periodization of 2020-2022, represented by one advertisement per year, to examine the representation of youth image in A-Mild cigarette advertisements across various editions.

Abstract

The Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) credibility is at stake as the Indonesian Pediatric Society and Indonesia’s Health Ministry reported that there was an increase in cases of Acute Kidney Injury in children in 2022. The people and communities consider BPOM to be too slow and is not transparent with this case. As a result, public opinions regarding the case become wilder on social media. This study figures out the interactivity of netizens on the instagram @bpom_ri in the case of Acute Kidney Injury in children. This study uses the thematic analysis and interactivity concept of McMillan. The results of the study showed that the dimension of interactivity in the comments section of BPOM's Instagram posts was high. The highest dimension was the sense of presence. The message relatedness of the comments was mainly linear with the posts. In terms of response, the most common was insight and information. The reactance of emotions showed a mix of positive and negative emotions, with fear being the most prevalent. This study found that netizens have a high willingness to share insight and information to others. They also express emotions such as fear and happiness when discussing medicine and feel connected to other commenters through a sense of presence. Additionally, there is a willingness to participate in a call of action. They keep commenting in BPOM instagram posts even though the comments did not match with the contents. Additionally, the issue of miss-using substances in children's syrup medicine evokes sadness among netizens.

Abstract

Sinden Ngetrend LPP TVRI Yogyakarta Program is a cultural arts-themed variety show that showcases the latest social phenomena in a comedy format through the collaboration of puppeteers, musical accompaniments (Pengrawit), and female performers (Sinden). This research aims to examine the role of producers in the production of the Sinden Ngetrend TVRI Yogyakarta using the POAC theory, which stands for Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with techniques of interviewing, observation, and documentation, using three sources, namely the Producer, Program Director, and Script Writer, processed through three stages of qualitative data analysis: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this research show that Sinden Ngetrend Producer performs its role by leading and managing production using the POAC theory, makes Sinden Ngetrend an acceptable educational culture show for all groups and attracts artists from Yogyakarta and its surrounding area to be guests or audience.

Abstract

In this digital era, people have the potential to become cosmetic and make-up users as part of daily life, so the cosmetic market share is very large. Displayed on Instagram to get the attention of others in the form of "likes" and "compliments" as much as possible, part of narcissism in social media that can increase the endorphins of happiness, but not everyone is talented at dressing themselves, so they call the services of MUA to beautify their appearance. This study uses a qualitative research method with a depth interview and purposive sampling technique. In this study, the results of observations are concluded as an elaboration of promotion strategy that must be carried out by beginner MUA who have started a business but want to attract consumers of makeup services with knowing promotion strategy using social media Instagram to built promotion strategy. The research result obtained three of MUA which is researched when examined from AIDA theory is a form of effect that explains how the audience is able to digest a promotion communication strategy message to make it take an attitude and behave like what the communicator expects.
