Abstract

Bullying is an act of hurting someone that is carried out continuously without any compassion that occurs in society. The representation of the issue of bullying can be seen in several films. One of the films that discuss bullying is the film "Joe Bell". Researchers researched the film "Joe Bell" using descriptive qualitative methods with semiotic theory from Roland Barthes in analyzing data based on the classification of types of bullying. The purpose of this research is to know the representation of bullying issues that occur in the movie "Joe Bell".  The results of this study are that the film "Joe Bell" represents the issue of bullying through scenes, dialogues, and storylines with an emphasis on types of bullying including verbal bullying, physical bullying, and cyberbullying.

Abstract

Business competition is one of the big risks that must be faced by a company. As the conditions on the CV. Total Computer Sragen as one of the companies in the field of Computerization or Information Technology (IT) is facing business competition with new competitors, especially in the Sragen Regency area. This paper will discuss the implementation carried out by CV. Total Computer Sragen can influence in maintaining customer loyalty through the presence of Word of Mouth (WoM). The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach using data collection techniques to conduct interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that CV. Total Computer Sragen in implementing customer relations strategy by prioritizing information disclosure and the principle of one-day service in an effort to maintain customer loyalty. In the strategy carried out by the company, it provides customer visit services in an effort to provide customer satisfaction to the company.

Abstract

The transformation of communication technology has improved fan cultural practices and produced new media that can encourage the formation of virtual fandom. New media such as Twitter became a practical alternative to the virtual fandom of football clubs in forming the desired identity. This study aims to find out how fans of the PSS Sleman football club built a virtual identity on the Twitter account @CampusBoys1976. The research method used is the netnography method with the technique of collecting participant observation data and literature studies. The results showed that Twitter accounts @CampusBoys1976 use three ways to build a virtual identity as PSS Sleman fans who provide support through literacy culture, which were displayed on Twitter pages, activity on Twitter, and the use of text language associated with Twitter affordances and events that occur.

Abstract

Every year, various natural disasters strike Indonesia, and journalism activities play an important role in disaster communication. This study aims to find out how the challenges of picturing natural disasters in Indonesia through drone journalism are. For this reason, the researcher chose key informants who have international reputations, namely Willy Kurniawan from Reuters and Budi Candra who represent the National News Agency, Antara. By using thematic analysis, the results of in-depth interviews will be selected and grouped and visualized using the miro application. The results of the study show that drone journalism is a form of disaster communication that presents aerial photographs which function to show the impact and escalation of disasters. The challenges of drone journalism include ethical factors, copyrights, and technology for sending images during a disaster. In the aspect of disaster management and disaster communication, drone journalism plays a role as a supplement aerial information for evacuation and mitigation in the "during disaster" and "after disaster" phase. The next challenge is in the non-disaster phase, where the collaboration of multiple stakeholders is needed to make drone journalism can become a tool for educating people in disaster-prone areas.

Abstract

Today's Internet network is a necessity for some people. PT Telkom Indonesia as one of the internet service provider companies in Indonesia is trying to maintain customer loyalty so that customers are loyal to the company's products. Therefore, this paper will discuss the customer relations strategy that was built to build a sense of customer loyalty to the company using the case study research method. The results of this study indicate that PT Telkom builds a customer relations strategy by creating a High Value Customer (HVC) program as an effort to maintain customer loyalty, with this program the company gives appreciation to every loyal customer by getting special benefits as an effort to build customer empathy for the company.

Abstract

Cyber ​​Public Relations as a new place for companies to show their best image through media that is familiar to the community. However, in this case study, Holywings made a mistake in creating content which ultimately violated several Cyber ​​Public Relations codes of ethics which alluded to SARA elements. The brand image that has been built since the beginning of pioneering must be destroyed and get a bad image by the public due to the handling of the crisis which is felt to be irresponsible for the chaos that has occurred in the public eye. through a case study approach and a qualitative-method the authors conducted an analysis of violations of the cyber public relations code of ethics and the handling that should be carried out by companies when facing a crisis.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the 'Aisyiyah proselytizing movement using twitter. This research is descriptive with the paradigm of postpositvism. This study used QDAS (Qualitive Data Analysis Software) Nvivo 12 Plus in analyzing data using the Chart analysis and Word Frequency features. The source of data in this study is the social media account twitter @PP'Aisyiyah. The results showed that ' Aisyiyah as a religious-based women's organization was able to adapt in carrying out its proselytizing from contemporary to digital massively through @PPAisyiyah's twitter account. Dakwah 'Aisyiyah on twitter is more dominant on the content of the convey of the hadith. Meanwhile, Aisyiyah's proselytizing narrative on twitter focuses on the women's movement adapting to the current situation. Then the intensity of proselytizing on twitter 'Aisyiyah was highest in April to June along with the direction from the Leader of 'Aisyiyah to continue preaching in the conditions of Covid-19. More than that, the chords involved with 'Aisyiyah in proselytizing on twitter are academic figures and Muhammadiyah figures.

Abstract

This study is a quasi-experimental evaluative research on applying the tagline "Bukan Sekadar Paham" (more than understand), which is the motto of the digital literacy program of Indonesian Anti Hoax Society or MAFINDO (Masyarakat Anti Fitnah Indonesia). The main concerns behind this research are: the absence of a quantitative analysis that conducts an empirical investigation of applying the "Bukan Sekadar Paham" discourse in various programs run. Specifically, this article discusses students’ responses in a high-schools in Surabaya who participated in a digital literacy program entitled Fikom Mengajar. This digital literacy program was held in collaboration between MAFINDO Surabaya chapter, the MAFINDO Commissariat of Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya (UKWMS), and the Student Executive Board, Faculty of Communication Sciences UKWMS. The research was conducted using the theoretical framework of attitude change using the ABC three-dimensional indicators that measure affect, behavior, and cognition. The method used was a survey method, with an electronic questionnaire data collection method on a google form. The results of this study show an increase in the ability to fact-check images, news texts, and posts on social media among high school students in Surabaya. Thus, quantitatively, applying the motto "Bukan Sekadar Paham" is concluded to have been successfully used in the FikomMengajar program.

Abstract

Film is a medium of communication as well as a medium for spreading messages, including messages of nationalism. The way to convey the message also varies, whether in the form of audio such as conversations or in the form of visuals such as sign. Nationalism is an idea formed to create freedom, lasting peace, and social justice in a country. In this research, the writer wants to examine the values of nationalism contained in the film Kadet 1947. The method used is descriptive qualitative with the aim of identifying, understanding, explaining and describing what happened. The purpose of this study is to find out the values of nationalism contained in the film of Kadet 1947. The results of the study show that in the Kadet 1947 film there are values of nationalism in accordance with the Budiawan concept of nationalism, namely the values of Patriotism, Willing to Sacrifice, Service to the Country, Sense of Owning, Pride on Country and Unity.

Abstract

The outbreak of riots between Maluku and East Nusa Tenggara communities in Babarsari, Sleman on 2 July 2022 became a topic of conversation on social media Twitter. It also made the news media spread information about the incident. This research uses a qualitative approach to determine the relationship between the people of Yogyakarta and Eastern Indonesians, the effect of the Babarsari riots on the stereotype of the people of Yogyakarta on the people of Eastern Indonesia and the impact, both on the people of eastern Indonesia itself and the Yogyakarta people. The data collection techniques used in this research are literature review and interview.
