Abstract

Jatirejoyoso Village, Kepanjen District, Malang Regency is an agricultural village that still depends on selling agricultural products for its livelihood. Some other people work as factory, workshop and trader workers. As for women, after high school many get married and become housewives. Environmental analysis, Jatirejoyoso Village has potential that is very close to the development of the Malang Mask Wayag performance art. Typical performance art performed by masked dancers, presenting the story of Panji. The Research Team combined two conditions that can complement each other, namely that women who become housewives are able to develop skills without having to leave the house, namely developing stamped motifs from cardboard with wayang mask ornament patterns. This is an opportunity to make simple and cheap batik crafts. The method uses design, training and mentoring. The activity stages are carried out starting from subject analysis, development, ornament design, training, and evaluation of results. Indicators of the success of this activity are the enthusiastic involvement of participants, understanding of batik stamp design skills, and the process of stamping and coloring.

Abstract

Most people only think that styrofoam is a material for packaging tools, for example as a container to store ice, a protector of electronic objects so that they are not damaged by vibration. According to Nanang Muchsinien, the advantage of using styrofoam as a creative medium is that it can be made in a shorter time than other materials, such as wood, cement, or other materials. The character of styreofoam which is not so heavy or relatively light, and has a small risk; therefore, using stereofoam material is not dangerous in the event of a work accident if it is hit, or falls when installed in public places Some other supporting facilities are: adequate space, tools, and materials, and of course styreofoam with good quality as the main medium styreofoam or foam plastic is one type of plastic from many other materials. The first is to make a sketch on paper as a means to find out the division of the image pieces from the existing design. The process of smoothing for this work is done by rubbing the surface of the styreofoam with rubbing paper. Technology for working on styreofoam materials is needed to speed up working so that the production process is more efficient, can save time, energy, and can reduce costs. The modeling process is carried out using modeling techniques so that in creating a sculpture that can interact directly between ideas into three dimentional form (sculpture art). In choosing to use cork/ styrofoam material because the material has already found the character of the material and the properties that exist in the material, so that it can speed up the creative process.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that occurred in the 2020-2022 period has affected teaching and learning activities at SMA Masehi 1 PSAK Semarang, especially in the Photography Extra-Curricular Activity (KEK) Community. Even though the pandemic has ended, the limited face-to-face access at that time and the lack of photography infrastructure have eliminated many students' opportunities to experience photography practicum directly. To overcome this problem, a Basic Photography Studio Techniques Workshop is proposed which will be led by experienced speakers. The workshop aims to provide basic understanding and skills in studio photography, with a focus on the use of lighting equipment. It is hoped that this activity can increase student competence in the creative photography industry and produce quality works. The workshop material in this service includes the material presented including an introduction to flash meters, an introduction to studio lighting softbox accessories, basic single lighting techniques (one light), and basic double lighting techniques (two lights). With this workshop, participants can practice basic Studio photography techniques and can understand the basic theory of flash light measurement in various real cases that can be found in the field.

Abstract

The arts scene has long been a rich platform for artistic and cultural expression in society. The role of dance as a form of artistic expression that connects movement, music, and narrative to convey cultural messages and meanings. This activity aims to provide an opportunity for early childhood education  to apply basic dance movements and their development as early childhood education learning materials. PAUD educators are invited to create variations of innovative dance movements. This service will take place from May to July 2023 with the partner Labschool Unisnu Jepara with a total of 6 educators. Through historical reviews and contemporary analysis, this service explores the role of dance performances in forming and maintaining cultural identity, as well as its impact on learning in PAUD. The implementation details are: 1) Determining groups and types of dance for each group, as well as preparing activity schedules and guidance. 2) Determining the back song for each dance. 3) Discussion and planning dance movements. 4) Review the dance creations. 5) Evaluation of the results of the revision of the dance creation. 6) Dance performance. It is hoped that further efforts will emerge to preserve, develop, and celebrate the richness of art and culture through artistic performances. Through dance, educators' creativity is developed so that they are able to work better and have artistic value. The ability to develop traditional and modern dance movements is a challenge in itself and can be a provision for them to apply their knowledge in the future when they teach as PAUD teachers. Abstract

This study aims to explore various forms of creativity in enhancing adolescent mental well-being through artistic expression. The introduction highlights the importance of mental well-being for adolescents and the role of art as an effective medium of expression. The research methodology employs a qualitative approach involving adolescent participants engaged in artistic activities such as painting, music, and theater. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and participatory observation. The results indicate that participation in artistic activities can enhance self-confidence, reduce stress, and strengthen social relationships among adolescents. The discussion elaborates on how the creative process in art allows adolescents to express emotions, cope with social pressures, and discover their identity. The conclusion of this study is that artistic expression can be an effective tool in improving adolescent mental well-being, providing them with a space to explore and express themselves in a positive manner.

Abstract

The arts in the city of Malang are so very diverse as well as the artists who continue to be creative in their work until now, to become a culture or culture in the city itself. Contemporary art often emphasizes ideas and concepts over technical skills alone, some works can appear more conceptually complex than visual. There is no single style or approach in contemporary art. Therefore, there is a need for a creative forum that combines all elements of art in the city of Malang. The purpose of this service is to create a forum for art creation in the form of art exhibitions for all artists in the city of Malang by developing the concept of works on contemporary art, as well as providing art connoisseurs related to education on the development of contemporary art to date, and providing new aesthetic experiences to the community. The contemporary art exhibition with the title Fenomeart in surreal image packaging is an attractive forum for art connoisseurs in Malang City. The following are some of the steps or methods that will be taken to organize an art exhibition, including determining the concept and theme, selecting artworks, determining the strategic location of the exhibition, promotion involving mass media, curatorial as well as educating the community, involvement of the art community in the city of Malang, security of artworks, and feedback from the public.

Abstract

In accordance with the purpose of community service, this PkM activity is oriented to restore the community's interest and enthusiasm for traditional theater arts through coaching and mentoring with material on the strategy of socializing traditional sandur theater arts to the community through social media in the performance style at the Sedhet Srepet Studio. The phenomenon found in the community is that the next generation of traditional theater art activists is decreasing due to the lack of information and education from families, schools to the scope of electronic media and the onslaught of modern culture that shifts the character of the younger generation. This problem encouraged the author to carry out this activity to be able to encourage and assist traditional theater art practitioners so that they can regenerate and increase public interest in this art so that it is not eroded by modern culture from outside. This PkM activity program is carried out using the Training and Capacity Building method through the Service Learning approach through the application of technology and innovation. The results of this PkM activity program concluded that the optimization of the traditional theater performance style based on the need to maximize innovation in traditional theater performances so that they are in accordance with the context of development and the needs of the times and can adapt according to the needs of this performance. The Sanggar Sedhet Srepet Team has effectively used social media on Instagram and Youtube and in the future will be added other social networking accounts, because by utilizing these media it is considered to have been able to increase the enthusiasm of the Bojonegoro community to enjoy the performance. Instagram media has proven to be able to introduce theater arts well to the Instagram user community, this is evident from the existence of several followers who are interested in watching and studying theater arts and are interested in joining the community on the Instagram account @sandur_sedhet_srepet.

Abstract

Trebang is the name for the tambourine musical instrument which can be found in the daily conversation of theBanyuwangi people. Trebang means to fly, the meaning of this word can be seen through the rhythm of the trebangangebyar kerokan strikes which are carried out with extra energy and balanced with a high playing spirit or in the Usinglanguage it is called oyak-oyakan with a fast rhythm that occurs spontaneously, so this can deceive the senses. playersget tired until they feel like they are floating without reducing the value of the characteristics of the game. There areso many types of trebang that they have different names, including trebang ketimpring, marawis, biang, salun,gembrung, and trebang Banyuwangi or others, each trebang has its own characteristics both in terms of shape, soundcolor and playing technique. In the Banyuwangi trebangan game which is usually played by artists, it has three basicsounds including (prang, bring, teng) or can be written using the letter notation method (p-b-t) according to the colorof the trebang sound itself with the artist's language intended to facilitate learning and maintain values. -Traditionalvalues that apply without having to imitate other languages which can obscure the indigenous language, especiallythe Banyuwangi language, with the principle of respecting and loving the culture of the Indonesian nation, especiallythe culture of the local people, namely Banyuwangi. By combining these three basic sounds with the inclusion of thestroke pattern, various trebangan timpal stroke styles are created, such as trebangan jos, trebangan yahum, trebangantimim, trebangan gebyar, and trebangan melaku. Five of these trebangan styles can be developed according to theirneeds, namely depending on the artist's creativity, so that each existing trebang group has a variety of trebanganstrokes with different names or usually uses its own language such as trebangan jos siji and jos loro, trebangan yahumsiji, yahum loro, yahum telu , and yahum papat, trebangan tiram wavean, tiram pencakan, and tiram kembangan,trebangan gebyar krotokan, gebyar grudhugan, gebyar kentrogan and gebyar kluthikan, while trebangan melakuincludes trebangan melaku plain and melaku pinjalan.
