Abstract

This study aimed to develop speaking skills teaching materials for anthropology-based tourism in the Arabic Language and Literature Department, Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University Malang; This study used Research and Development adapted from the Borg and Gall development model. The data were collected using the following instruments: interviews, participatory observation, questionnaires, and tests. The techniques of data analysis included qualitative and statistical descriptive.  The results of this study were the availability of speaking skills teaching materials developed for anthropology based tourism in the Arabic Language and Literature Department, Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University Malang in the form of a textbook, entitled: “Al Arabiyyah li As Siyaahah: Ta`lim Maharah Al Kalam li As Siyaahah ála Asas Antropologi.” This textbook consists of 3 main sections: introduction, learning materials, and closing; As for the opinion of students, this product is good because it can contribute to increasing student enthusiasm and learning outcomes; and the T-test with SPSS shows that the average score of students on the posttest was higher than the pretest and statistically shows a significant increase.

Abstract

Abstrak. Makassar language does not escape the influence of foreign languages in the world. One of the foreign languages that has influenced the Makassar language is Arabic. For this reason, research was carried out to describe Arabic loanword vocabulary in Makassar language through a lexicographical approach to the Makassar-Indonesian dictionary, using a qualitative descriptive research method. Researchers collected data using note-taking techniques and literature techniques, analyzed and made conclusions using the distribution method and the translational equivalent method. Data are grouped based on suitability of pronunciation and meaning. This study found that there were 65 Arabic loanwords in the dictionary, of which 38 loanwords were religious words, while 27 loanwords were general in nature. Some of the Arabic loanword vocabulary in Makassar language has changed letters and consonants which are adapted to the presence of letters and the phonological tendencies of Makassar language speakers. The results of this study contribute to applied linguistics, especially lexicographic studies, which shows the intervention of Arabic in the development of Makassar language structure. Keywords: Loanword, Arabic, Makassar Language

Abstract

Homonyms of Bugis Language in Philosophy of Life of The Bugis People ABSTRAKFalsafah Bugis selain sarat dengan unsur etika dan moralitas juga mengandung nilai sastra yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bentuk-bentuk kosakata homonim pada falsafah Bugis dan memahami penggunaan kosakata homonim dalam interaksi masyarakat Bugis. Studi ini menerapkan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Sumber data utama yang digunakan adalah video-video di platform Youtube dan artikel-artikel yang berhubungan dengan kutipan-kutipan falsafah Bugis. Selain itu, data sekunder yang digunakan meliputi buku, artikel jurnal, dan penelitian sebelumnya yang relevan dengan topik penelitian ini. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik simak-catat yang selanjutnya dianalis dengan cara mengidentifikasi, mengklasifikasi, mendeskripsikan dan menyimpulkan kosakata homonim pada falsafah hidup masyarakat Bugis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dua bentuk kosakata homonim pada falsafah Bugis, yaitu berbentuk homograf dan homofon. Homograf adalah hubungan makna di mana terdapat dua kata atau lebih dengan pengejaan yang serupa namun memiliki arti yang berbeda. Sedangkan homofon adalah dua kata atau lebih yang dilafalkan secara serupa, tetapi memiliki penulisan dan makna yang berbeda. Kosakata homonim tersebut tidak hanya digunakan pada kalimat falsafah Bugis tetapi juga sering digunakan dalam percakapan sehari-hari.Kata kunci: Filosofi Bugis, HomonimABSTRACTBesides being full of elements of ethics and morality, Bugis philosophy also contains the high literary value. This study aims to understand the forms of homonymous vocabulary in Bugis philosophy and to understand the use of homonymous vocabulary in the interaction of Bugis society. This study applies a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. The main data sources used are videos on the Youtube platform and articles related to quotes on Bugis philosophy. In addition, the secondary data used includes books, journal articles, and previous studies that are relevant to this research topic. The data collection technique used was the note-taking technique which was then analyzed by identifying, classifying, describing, and concluding homonymous vocabulary in the philosophy of life of the Bugis people. The results of the study show that there are two forms of homonymous vocabulary in Bugis philosophy, namely homographs, and homophones. A homograph is a relationship of meaning where there are two or more words with similar spelling but different meanings. Whereas homophones are two or more words that are pronounced similarly, but have different writing and meanings. The homonym vocabulary is not only used in Bugis philosophical sentences but is also often used in daily conversation.Keyword: Bugis philosophy, HomonymFilosofi Bugis, Homonim

Abstract

This study seeks to show students' abilities after utilizing the cartoon film medium to improve their dialogue skills in 10th grade students at Bekasi First Governmental Islamic High School, as well as to compare the results of the cartoon film media to the traditional technique. This study employs experimental research with a quantitative methodology, as well as the creation of a real-world experiment (one group, pre-test and post-test). The effectiveness of students' acquisition of dialogue skills development, understanding the content of dialogues, and learning outcomes in dialogue skill appeared after utilizing the cartoon video at a school. There is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test, indicating that using the cartoon film method to teach conversation to pupils is quite effective.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of smartboard technology in Arabic language learning media. The approach in this research is descriptive qualitative, which is carried out in the SKS (Semester Credit System) class of MTsN 2 Malang. Data were collected using interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The data were then analyzed with three steps of the Miles and Huberman model, namely, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings of this study indicate that the use of smartboard technology has a significant impact on student motivation in learning Arabic. The students report that the incorporation of smartboard technology into the learning environment has increased their interest and enthusiasm in the subject matter. They also perceive a greater sense of involvement in the learning process due to the interactive features of the smartboard, such as writing, drawing, and manipulating objects on the touch screen. Direct interaction with the smartboard in Arabic language learning provides a visual and kinesthetic experience that helps students to understand concepts and develop language skills. However, there are some challenges related to the use of the smartboard, including limited accessibility, infrastructure, and teachers' readiness and competence in integrating the smartboard into learning.

Abstract

This article examines the meaning of jihad conveyed in Abu Obaida's oration during the conflict in Palestine. The research background covers the historical and political context of the region, as well as the relevance of Abu Obaida's role in inspiring resistance movements. The purpose of this study is to analyze Abu Obaida's understanding of jihad to Hamas forces, Palestinians, Muslims, Arab leaders, the World Security Council (UN) and Jihad through social media. The oration explained the social and political factors that influenced his views, as well as encouraged the impact of his oration on the movement in Palestine. The research methods used were the analysis of the content of Abu Obaida's oration, the study of related literature, and the opinions of historical and political experts. The data were analyzed qualitatively to understand the context, meaning, and implications of Abu Obaida's oration. The results showed that Abu Obaida interpreted jihad as a struggle for justice, liberation, and the rights of the Palestinian people. This understanding is reflected in the historical context and political conflicts facing Palestine. His oration succeeded in mobilizing and inspiring his audience, strengthening the spirit of resistance. The conclusion of this article presents a comprehensive overview of the meaning of jihad in the context of the Palestinian conflict through Abu Obaida's oration. This understanding provides deep insight into the factors shaping jihadist views in the conflict and can be a foundation for understanding the dynamics of movements in the region.

Abstract

Penelitian pembelajaran maharah kalam pada program kursus bahasa Arab spesial Ramadhan di Pondok Pesantren Kesalahan sintaksis dalam penerjemahan secara umum bersangkutan dengan kesalahan pada saat menentukan peran kata. Dengan kata lain, kesalahan ini lebih sering terjadi dikarenakan ketidakmampuan dalam melakukan analisis kalimat bahasa sasaran. Di era globalisasi ini, pengalihbahasaan atau penerjemahan tidak hanya dapat dilakukan oleh manusia, tetapi penerjemahan juga dapat dilakukan oleh mesin-mesin canggih yang dikenali dengan perangkat lunak kamus. Dengan adanya kemampuan penerjemahan dari mesin kamus tersebut, maka akan memudahkan manusia dalam kegiatan penerjemahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas penerjemahan teks skripsi dari bahasa Indonesia ke dalam bahasa Arab dengan menggunakan aplikasi Tradukka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan datanya adalah survei dan dokumentasi. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa tingkat akhir jurusan pendidikan bahasa Arab UIN Malang. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini peneliti menemukan beberapa kesalahan terjemahan Tradukka, setidaknya 6 kategori, yaitu pemilihan kata, pemborosan kata, kaidah, tanda baca, kalimat yang tidak terdeteksi, dan inkonsistensi kata. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan bahasa akan menimbulkan kesalahpahaman arti oleh pembaca. Oleh demikian, maka perlu adanya tindak lanjut pengkoreksian secara menyeluruh dalam sebuah teks bahasa sasaran oleh penerjemah yang sudah memahami dan menguasai kaidah-kaidah Bahasa Arab dengan baik dan benar

Abstract

This study investigates the perceptions of bachelor and master students of Arabic Language Education towards the use of translation software in higher education, focusing at the State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, with a questionnaire design and interviews to gain an in-depth understanding of students' views. The collected data underwent 4 stages of analysis: data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The findings show that almost all students use software in translating and doing assignments, with varying portions of use. This happens because they feel helped by the software in doing various assignments easily and quickly, even though also realize that various software is very prone to errors. Students realize that the software allows them to be lazy to translate manually as well as the potential for dependence in its use. Consequently, the translation results generated by the software must be readjusted to the context of the sentence or paragraph being translated. The implication is the need for a cautious approach to the use of translation software in higher education, with an awareness of the limitations of such software, as well as the importance of manual language skill development.

Abstract

The term childfree has captured the public's attention, because it’s embraced by Indonesian influencers who are known through their social media platforms. In Islam, one of the aims of marriage is to multiply society or hifdzu an-nasl, because the Prophet Muhammad ‘Alaihissalam liked his communitiy in large numbers. How ever, the development of cultural pluralizm, some individuals who want to marry tend to avoid having a children for reasons that refer to worldliness prosperity. The purpose of this study is to find out the background of influencers adhering childfree and then connect to the laws of the Qur'an and hadith. This research is qualitative research with descriptive analysis method. Data sources are secondary data, wich is social media accounts of influencers adhering childfree and texts of the Qur'an and hadith. Data are obtained using the listen and record technique and then analyzed descriptively. The result of this study, background childfree adherents is having freedom and independence due to western culture. There are three laws wich explain about childfree. It’s Allowed if reasonable for health and religious reasons. Makruh, if the reason is hassles or worldly prosperity. Haram, if afraid of children only makes them poor.

Abstract

Bugis language is one of the regional languages in Indonesia, especially in South Sulawesi. Along with the development of the era of globalization which is increasing rapidly making language also experience development, thus affecting the style of language. Language style consists of several kinds, one of which is sarcasm. This study aims to describe the form, meaning, and factors that influence the occurrence of sarcasm in Bugis language. The type of research used is qualitative. Sources of data were obtained from oral data, Bugis-Indonesian dictionaries, books, and relevant previous articles. Data collection was carried out using editing techniques (collecting and checking data), organizing (recording and presenting facts), and founding (analyzing data findings), while data analysis was carried out using Miles and Huberman's data analysis techniques, namely data reduction, data display, and withdrawal. conclusion. This study found the results that the 21 data that had been obtained and analyzed by researchers contained a form of expression of Bugis language sarcasm that was often used as a form of designation sarcasm. Then, the factor that most often influences is the joke factor because it is to liven up the atmosphere.Keywords: Expression, Sarcasm, Bugis Language
