Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis is a disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, which is a health problem in Indonesia. Exploration of the treatment point of anti-tuberculosis drug resistance genes is very important for determining the appropriate gene-target markers of resistance. This study aimed to analyze the role of the katG/Rv1908c gene in Mycobacterium tuberculosis as a marker of isoniazid resistance, and to use mutation analysis data to design specific primers for dominant isoniazid-resistance mutations. We conducted descriptive research using a cross-sectional sampling method. The samples in this study were 10 MDR-TB isolates collected at the Health Laboratory and Calibration Testing Center of Central Java Province (Balapkes and Pak Prov Jateng). The research procedure included denaturing target primer sequencing of Mycobacterium tuberculosis DNA, DNA extraction, and PCR procedures. PCR was performed using BIONEER Exceller 96 with Gotaq Green Master Mix Kit reagents. PCR results were sequenced using the Sanger method at PT. Genetika Science. The Sanger sequencing results were analyzed using the BioEdit program to align the sequences. The spliced Mycobacterium tuberculosis DNA was analyzed using MEGA 10 software to identify mutation sites for comparison with the wild-type H37Rv and to determine the katG gene mutation site within the mapped region. The results of the DNA sequencing analysis using the Sanger sequencing method obtained that the katG gene mutation was dominated by Ser315Thr (80%) which was a single mutation, a double mutation at Ser315Thr+Ala221Asp (10%), a double mutation at Ser315Thr+Arg249Cys (10%), and the results of Primer F > 5'-GATCACCAGCGGCATCGAG-3' Primer R > 5'-CTCTTCGTCAGCTCCCACTC-3' and Primer R >5'-GATCACCACCGGCATCGAG-3' were able to amplify the Ser315Thr gene target as a detection primer. The conclusion is that the dominant mutation conferring isoniazid resistance is Ser315Thr, and the primers used to target the mutation work well.

Abstract

Pregnant women are at increased risk of oral health problems, including dental caries and gingivitis. This study aimed to examine the association between oral hygiene knowledge, attitudes, and practices and oral hygiene status among pregnant women attending antenatal care at Sragi Health Center, Pekalongan Regency, Indonesia. A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted among 124 pregnant women selected using accidental sampling. Data on oral health knowledge, attitudes, and practices were collected using a structured questionnaire comprising 10 items per domain. Oral hygiene status was assessed using the Simplified Oral Hygiene Index (OHI-S). Associations between behavioral variables and OHI-S categories (good, moderate, poor) were analyzed using Kendall's Tau-B. Most participants had primary-level education (58%), good knowledge (58%), good attitudes (65%), and poor oral health practices (65%). Most respondents showed a moderate OHI-S status (61%). No significant association was found between educational level and OHI-S (p = 0.655). Significant associations were observed between knowledge and OHI-S (p = 0.017), attitudes and OHI-S (p = 0.010), and practices and OHI-S (p = 0.032). Knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to oral health were associated with oral hygiene status among pregnant women, whereas educational level was not significantly associated with OHI-S.

Abstract

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death globally. Male medical students are highly susceptible to CVD risk due to high academic stress and hormonal profiles. Although body mass index (BMI) is commonly used to assess nutritional status, this parameter cannot detect body fat distribution, especially visceral fat, which is more likely to cause CVD than subcutaneous fat. This study aims to investigate the relationship between Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR) and vascular characteristics in male medical students with normal BMI. This study used a cross-sectional design and a total sampling technique. Sample characteristics were collected using a questionnaire, while WHtR was measured using a waist circumference tape and a microtoise. Vascular characteristics were measured using an accelerated photoplethysmograph (APG) analyzer, SA-3000P. The participants were 49 male medical students aged 18-22 years, with normal BMI, light or moderate physical activity, and good sleep quality. The results of this study showed that the proportions of suboptimal aging index, arterial elasticity, peripheral elasticity, and wave type level 2 were higher in the high-risk WHtR group than in the normal WHtR group. However, statistical analysis using the Chi-square test indicated that these differences were not statistically significant (p = 0.291; p = 0.742; p = 0.062; p = 0.648, respectively). These findings emphasize the importance of individuals with high-risk WHtR adopting a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise and a healthy diet, to maintain vascular health.

Abstract

Public sector organizations, including healthcare institutions, are under increasing pressure to enhance employee performance amid digital transformation, service complexity, and rising public expectations. Entrepreneurial Human Capital (EHC), reflected in innovation capability, proactiveness, adaptability, and opportunity recognition, has emerged as a critical resource for improving organizational effectiveness. This study synthesizes empirical evidence on the role of EHC in improving employee performance in public organizations. A systematic literature review was conducted following the PRISMA framework. Articles were retrieved from PubMed, Scopus, EBSCOhost, and Google Scholar. Thirty-one eligible studies were included in the final synthesis. The findings indicate that EHC enhances employee performance by strengthening initiative, adaptive decision-making, innovation, and problem-solving capacity. Innovative work behavior, knowledge sharing, and organizational learning were identified as key mediating mechanisms, whereas leadership support, organizational climate, and digital capability functioned as important moderating factors. These findings suggest that public organizations should prioritize capability-development strategies that foster innovation and adaptive behavior rather than relying solely on formal qualifications. Strengthening EHC may support sustainable employee performance and more responsive public service delivery, including in healthcare institutions.

Abstract

Human capital development has become a strategic priority for organizations, including healthcare institutions, facing rapid digital transformation, workforce shortages, and increasing demands for innovation and service quality. Entrepreneurial leadership has been recognized as a leadership approach capable of fostering workforce competencies, talent retention, and organizational innovation. This systematic literature review aims to synthesize empirical and theoretical evidence regarding the role of entrepreneurial leadership in human capital development. Following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, literature was identified from Scopus, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Emerald Insight, Google Scholar, and complementary citation chaining procedures. From 501 identified records, 50 highly relevant studies were included for thematic synthesis. The findings reveal that entrepreneurial leadership enhances workforce skills through continuous learning, coaching, and competency development; improves talent retention through affective commitment and supportive organizational climates; and strengthens innovation performance through intellectual capital and dynamic capabilities. Digital transformation, Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, and sustainability frameworks emerged as important contextual factors influencing leadership effectiveness. In healthcare organizations, these findings suggest that entrepreneurial leadership can support workforce resilience, digital competency development, service innovation, and sustainable healthcare performance. Despite conceptual and methodological limitations within the literature, entrepreneurial leadership remains a promising approach for strengthening human capital development in increasingly complex organizational environments.
