Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to test the performance of eye detection algorithms in human images using specific methods, such as the Viola-Jones algorithm. Eye detection is an important component in various applications, ranging from biometrics to surveillance systems. Methods/Study design/approach: In this study, testing was conducted on 10 images with simple variations to assess the algorithm's accuracy, precision, and recall. Result/Findings: The results showed that the algorithm achieved an accuracy rate of 80% with a precision and recall of 88.9%, which indicates a fairly reliable performance for standard conditions. However, detection errors such as false positives and negatives were found, suggesting the potential for improvement, especially in images with varying illumination or orientation. Novelty/Originality/Value: This algorithm is suitable for real-time eye detection applications with stable lighting and orientation conditions. Still, it is recommended to incorporate additional methods to improve accuracy in more complex conditions.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this test is to ensure that the main features of the system meet the needs and specifications that have been set. From a total of 9 test scenarios, 7 scenarios were successfully passed, while 2 scenarios failed, namely in the Document Upload feature (KK, Ijazah) and Print Proof of Registration. Methods/Study design/approach: The results of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) - Alpha Testing for the New Student Admission Information System (PPDB) conducted by the internal QA team at the research object, namely SMK Negeri 3 Kayu Agung. Result/Findings: This failure indicates the need for further development, as both features are crucial elements in the registration process. Based on the test results, future research is recommended to address these issues immediately so that the system can operate properly. The final decision concludes that the system is not ready for Beta Testing until all issues are resolved. Novelty/Originality/Value: This research with UAT evaluation aims to provide insights for future research and development regarding the readiness status of the system as well as the corrective measures needed to improve the user experience.

Abstract

Purpose: Pampang Cultural Village, one of the Dayak cultural and tourism areas in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The village has aesthetic educational value, especially related to the history, traditions, and cultural values of the ancestors that are still well preserved. However, at the cultural village art performance, there is a lack of young tourists who attend the traditional and cultural events of the Pampang Cultural Village, so it is necessary to have a documentary film by following the current trend style by using Cinematic Techniques applying Color Grading. Methods/Study design/approach: The method used in making the documentary is the Cinematic Technique by applying Color Grading. The use of Cinematic Techniques and Color Grading in the documentary is to create an aesthetic atmosphere that regulates lighting, shot types, and coloring so that the audience can describe the situation in the documentary. Result/Findings: The result of this research is a documentary film of Pampang Cultural Village which is used as a promotional medium for educational and aesthetic tourist attractions about the customs and culture of Kalimantan Island. Novelty/Originality/Value: The use of Cinematic Techniques and Color Grading in the documentary film is to create an aesthetic atmosphere that regulates lighting, shot type, and coloring. Keywords: Documentary Film, Pampang Cultural Village, Cinematic, Color Grading

Abstract

Abstract. The abstract written in English must contain: purpose of the paper, methods, result, and novelty within 100-250 words maximum Purpose: In this case, a profile video is an electronic media to convey information that is very effective in introducing a particular institution. Through this audio-visual media, information is easily accepted and digested by the community, coupled with video packaging that uses cinematic techniques that make the results more interesting and not boring. Methods/Study design/approach: Based on this, to carry out promotion, a KIP-College profile video was developed. In making it using the cinematography method which has several stages including, Pre-Production Stage (Determining story ideas and writing scenarios), Production (Shooting and audio recording), Post-Production (Editing) to distribution (Publication) of video results. Result/Findings: The result of these stages is a profile video that is used to promote KIP-College. Novelty/Originality/Value: a profile video used to promote KIP-Kuliah

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to evaluate the performance of the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithm in predicting product sales based on historical data. The data includes product price information, sales amount in the previous month, product category, promotion, and seasonal factors. This research involves several experiments with various K values and the application of data normalization to optimize prediction accuracy. Methods/Study design/approach: The KNN algorithm was chosen for its simplicity and ability to handle multivariate data. Results/Findings: The results show that the value of K=7 is the optimal parameter for this dataset, with a Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) value of 110. Normalizing the data is proven to improve the model's accuracy, reducing the RMSE value by about 10% compared to the unnormalized data. Product price, previous sales amount, and promotion features significantly contribute to sales prediction. Novelty/Originality/Value: This research is expected to provide insight for companies that want to use machine learning to predict product sales and support business decision-making.
