Abstract

Sasirangan as the Banjar people's creative work is a typical icon of South Kalimantan and Widely known for its patterns and uniqueness which highly demanded by local, national and foreign people. Sasirangan textile marketing using the marketplace, Sasirangan image with patterns of different colours have large storage capacity, as well as uploading images of Sasirangan patterns in e-commerce requires large bandwidth, while the constraints on MSME entrepreneurs have limited Internet bandwidth access. Image compression aims to convert data files into smaller files for efficient storage and effective data transmission. The vector quantization method is a mapping of image data in the form of irregular bits, so the mapping uses the fuzzy C-mean algorithm. The achieved compression kulat kurikit.jpg is higher than that of other images, with a compression ratio of 88.5233600% and a file size of 566 KB. a better quality than the others due to its more uniform grey scale colour composition for the same block vector and codebook.

Abstract

The direct torque controller (DTC) is an interesting control scheme for induction motor control. It is suitable for variable-frequency drives for torque and its consequent speed control, specifically for the calculation of the estimated Induction motor's magnetic flux and torque based on the motor's measured voltage and current. However, this scheme has a disadvantage in its implementation that makes it unsuitable for high torque applications, resulting in poor drive parameter variation, optimization, and dynamic responses when compared to field-oriented control (FOC). Fuzzy-based DTC is introduced to control. The high torque ripple nature of the direct torque-controlled induction motor improves drive performance to parameter variation, and improve transient response to step changes in torque during start-up. The neurofuzzy analysis on torque performance under load disturbance shows a transient response and a low step ripple effect. Thus, this improved scheme is recommended for a high inertia application. Such as flywheel presses and rock crushes.

Abstract

All human activities depend on electrical energy. The use of new renewable energy in Indonesia is still around 15%, even though Indonesia has great potential for new and renewable energy sources, especially water-based alternative energy. PLTMH is one example of the utilization of new renewable energy from water sources. Turbine is one of the important components in PLTMH. This study aims to conduct a literature review on turbine types and trends in PLTMH design publications using the systematic literature review method.  The review results show that the crossflow type impulse turbine is most dominantly used in PLTMH, followed by the Pelton type. Other turbine types such as Francis, Vortex, Archimedes Screw, and undershot are used less frequently. The publication trend peaked in 2020, then declined moderately in the following years. As of May 2024, there are no new studies, indicating a change in focus or a decline in interest.

Abstract

Monitoring blood glucose levels in the body of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) patients regularly is an essential part of managing blood sugar levels, which can improve the quality of life for DM patients. One approach in health technology for non-invasive blood glucose detection is through the use of the patient's urine. In this study, a blood glucose measurement device was designed using Arduino Uno, a Wheatstone bridge circuit, a voltage amplifier, and a 16x4 LCD to display the measurement results. The measurement process involves placing a urine sample on one arm of the Wheatstone bridge circuit, where two copper electrode cells are positioned. Changes in the output voltage of the bridge circuit result in a voltage variation, which is then amplified by the voltage amplifier, allowing it to be read by the Arduino. The measurement results indicate that the Wheatstone bridge method can be used to detect glucose in urine, with changes in voltage observed for each tested urine sample.

Abstract

Retail business location selection is a critical strategic decision for company success. This research aims to compare the effectiveness of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) methods in decision support systems for retail business location selection. Using a simulation-based quantitative approach, this study evaluates the performance of both methods based on alternative ranking accuracy, result consistency, and computational efficiency. Results show that AHP excels in handling complex criteria hierarchies and result consistency, while TOPSIS demonstrates superiority in computational efficiency and resilience to data outliers. Sensitivity analysis reveals that AHP is more sensitive to changes in criteria weights compared to TOPSIS. Model validation through comparison with literature case studies shows a high level of concordance between simulation results and actual decisions. This research provides theoretical contributions to the development of decision support systems and practical implications for decision-makers in the retail industry. Development prospects include method integration for hybrid approaches and exploration of big data integration in the retail location decision-making process.

Abstract

This research introduces an innovative algorithm for G-code modification using Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC) to optimize Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining parameters without relying on additional hardware or sensors. The study develops a computational framework that processes G-code blocks with an average speed of 0.3ms while maintaining a minimal memory footprint of 1.2MB. Implementation results demonstrate an 18% reduction in total machining time, with the feed rate optimized from 1000 mm/min to 1180 mm/min for linear cutting and spindle speed enhanced from 3000 RPM to 3450 RPM, while maintaining conservative parameters for critical plunge cutting operations. The system achieved a 23% increase in tool life through intelligent parameter modulation. Testing on titanium alloy workpieces showed consistent performance with zero machining interruptions during parameter modification, marking a five-fold improvement in processing speed compared to existing sensor-based systems. This hardware-independent approach enables rapid deployment in existing CNC systems through simple software updates, offering a cost-effective solution for machining optimization. The research establishes a foundation for intelligent G-code generation that adapts to material properties and cutting conditions while maintaining operational safety and efficiency.
