Abstract

Batik is an Indonesian cultural heritage that embodies deep philosophical values and national identity. However, traditional batik-making techniques are often considered complex for beginners since they require specific skills. Therefore, the tie-dye technique, also known as batik ikat celup, is introduced as a simpler and more accessible alternative that can serve both as a learning medium and as an entrepreneurial opportunity. This community service program was conducted at Pondok Pesantren Al-Intishor, Mataram, involving 9th and 10th grade students. The method included delivering introductory materials, demonstrations, and hands-on practice in small groups under intensive guidance. The results revealed high enthusiasm among both students and teachers, who acknowledged the relevance of this activity to be integrated into craft and entrepreneurship education. Students successfully understood the stages of tie-dye batik making—from material preparation to the drying process—while also developing creativity through unique motifs and color variations. This program proved effective not only in enhancing knowledge about batik but also in fostering practical skills, self-confidence, and basic entrepreneurial potential. Thus, tie-dye batik training can be regarded as a strategic medium to preserve cultural heritage while simultaneously improving participants’ economic independence.

Abstract

Dengue fever (DHF) is still a public health problem in many parts of Indonesia, including Kurung Village, Kejayan Subdistrict, Pasuruan District. The low awareness of residents towards environment-based prevention behavior is one of the factors for the high risk of transmission. This activity aims to increase knowledge, establish clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS), and build a community-based dengue prevention system through education and community empowerment. Through participatory and educative methods, this activity resulted in increased community knowledge, changes in 3M Plus behavior, and the implementation of routine PSN at the RT level. The program also strengthens collaboration between the community, village government, and Puskesmas. Theoretically, this activity supports the community empowerment approach, the Health Belief Model, and the socioecological model, and has proven effective for replication in other areas.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia encompasses all forms of education provided in Indonesia, both structured and unstructured. Education in Indonesia is divided into three main pathways: formal, non-formal, and informal. Education is also divided into four levels: early childhood, elementary, secondary, and higher education. Education is currently the foundation for the nation's development. Students, as the golden generation, are prepared for the future. Educators are the key to producing Indonesia's golden generation. Given that Indonesia has been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic in recent months, policymakers need to consider this when evaluating education in the new normal era. The purpose of this tutoring program is to optimize education in the regions during the new normal era. The method used is interactive learning between teachers and students, utilizing modules as learning resources and teacher guides. The program has resulted in several village children, from kindergarten to elementary school, receiving tutoring on school material they haven't yet mastered, particularly mathematics, English, and science. In this new normal era, it is important to hold tutoring programs for children because the learning time provided by schools is limited due to the ongoing pandemic.
