Abstract

Productive waqf is a waqf concept that not only functions as a donation for religious or social purposes, but is also managed professionally to generate profits that can be used to improve the community's economy. This study focuses on the management of productive waqf in the wider community in Jember Regency which can make a real contribution to the local economy. This study aims to analyze the strategy for developing productive waqf in order to improve the community's economy through a qualitative descriptive approach using SWOT analysis and direct observation. The results of the study identified several main strategies to improve the community's economy, including waqf asset management methods, accessible economic sectors and the long-term economic impacts resulting from the implementation of productive waqf. Management of waqf assets carried out professionally can have a significant impact on the wider community, while potential economic sectors to be developed can increase waqf asset funds. The implementation of productive waqf carried out continuously will have a good economic impact for a long time. The novelty of this activity lies in the integration of the concept of productive waqf as a source of capital strengthening and governance for cassava chip MSMEs, combined with participatory mentoring and SWOT analysis based on local village potential. The resulting tangible impact is not only increased business capacity and product competitiveness, but also the creation of a sustainable economic empowerment model that can be replicated by other village MSMEs in Jember Regency. These findings are expected to help improve the economy of the wider community in Jember Regency through the implementation of productive waqf effectively and professionally

Abstract

Learning in Islamic Religious Education and Character Building (PAI-BP) faces the persistent challenge of dominance by conventional methods (teacher-centered learning), which severely impacts students’ low motivation and active participation. This community service program aims to address this issue through pedagogical innovation by providing intensive assistance in the implementation of the Cooperative Learning Model Type Teams Games Tournament (TGT). The methodology employed is Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), focusing on the Discovery, Dream, Design, Define, and Destiny stages, specifically oriented toward the empowerment of PAI-BP teachers at SMP Negeri 4 Panyabungan. Implementation results demonstrate that the program successfully transferred TGT technical skills to the partner teachers, evidenced by a significant increase in teacher understanding from 45% to 88% (during the Define stage). Furthermore, the application of TGT (during the Destiny stage) was empirically proven effective in boosting student learning motivation, supported by a 21.5% average increase in motivation questionnaire scores and observations showing high collaboration and participation during tournament sessions. The conclusion of this activity is that the TGT assistance successfully established a new skill asset for the partner teachers, shifted the learning paradigm toward Student-Centered Learning, and ensured the sustainability of innovation that contributes significantly to enhancing the quality of PAI-BP instruction at the school

Abstract

Human trafficking in the ASEAN region remains a serious transnational challenge, particularly involving Indonesian citizens (WNI) and Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) in Thailand. Limited safe migration literacy, inadequate skills, the use of non-procedural migration channels, and the growing prevalence of digitally facilitated exploitation increase the vulnerability of PMI to trafficking in persons (TIP). This condition underscores the importance of prevention efforts grounded in education and public awareness strengthening. This socialization activity aimed to provide academic communities as well as Indonesian citizens and migrant workers in Thailand with a better understanding of the risks of TIP, lawful overseas employment procedures, and available protection and reporting mechanisms. The method employed consisted of online socialization and educational outreach conducted through a webinar collaboratively organized by the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok, lecturer from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta, and Pengurus Cabang Istimewa Muhammadiyah in Thailand (PCIM Thailand), involving approximately 40 participants from Indonesia and Thailand. The implementation of the activity functioned as a platform for information dissemination and interactive dialogue regarding recruitment patterns in trafficking cases, the importance of compliance with official overseas placement procedures, and the roles of government and civil society organizations in protecting migrant workers. This cross-sector collaborative socialization represents a contributive educational practice in strengthening the protection of Indonesian citizens abroad and highlights the importance of stakeholder synergy in addressing transnational trafficking issues.

Abstract

Hydrometeorological disasters such as floods and landslides that frequently strike North Aceh region have significant psychological impacts on children, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and behavioral regression. This community service activity aimed to provide psychoeducational assistance to children following hydrometeorological disasters in Dewantara and Muara Batu Districts, North Aceh Regency. The method used was community-based psychoeducation, encompassing needs assessment, group psychoeducation sessions, therapeutic play, and training for parents and teachers. The activity was conducted over four weeks involving 85 children aged 6–15 years affected by the disaster. Results indicated a significant reduction in post-traumatic stress symptoms in 72% of participants, improved emotional regulation abilities, and enhanced understanding among parents and teachers regarding post-disaster psychological support. This program was effective in restoring children's psychological condition and strengthening community capacity in providing psychosocial support after disasters

Abstract

The level of literacy and inclusion of the Indonesian public regarding capital markets remains very low. Not only among the general public, but the phenomenon of low financial knowledge and practices related to capital markets also remains a problem among academics, both students and lecturers. The purpose of this community service activity is to improve literacy and inclusion in the community, especially among students and lecturers on the campus of Al-Kifayah Islamic University, Riau. The method used was a workshop with material presentations and a question and answer session. The results of this service are an increase in understanding and practice of capital markets on campus. Furthermore, during the workshop, an agreed follow-up was the implementation of a capital market school to further deepen understanding in the future

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve literacy in modern philanthropic management based on zakat, infaq, alms, and waqf (ZISWAF) to support community empowerment at Dompet Dhuafa Riau. The main problem faced by the partner institution is the low level of public understanding regarding modern, professional, transparent, and productive economic-based Islamic philanthropic management. The implementation method used an educational and participatory approach through socialization, interactive discussions, and mentoring activities for participants. The materials presented included the concept of modern Islamic philanthropy, ZISWAF governance, digitalization of Islamic social fund management, and strategies for community economic empowerment through productive zakat. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants’ understanding of modern ZISWAF management and the importance of utilizing Islamic social funds productively. In addition, participants also gained a better understanding of transparency, accountability, and the use of digital technology in Islamic philanthropic management. This activity is expected to support the optimization of sustainable community economic empowerment programs through more effective and professional ZISWAF management

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has provided convenience in accessing information and communication. However, uncontrolled use of digital technology may negatively affect students' mental health, including stress, anxiety, decreased self-esteem, and social media addiction. This community service program aimed to increase students' understanding of the importance of maintaining mental health in the digital era. The methods included educational socialization, interactive lectures, discussions, and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests. The program involved 50 secondary school students. The results indicated an increase in students' understanding of mental health concepts, the impact of digital media use on psychological well-being, and strategies to maintain mental health through social media management, stress management, and strengthening social relationships. Participants' average understanding increased from 62% in the pre-test to 89% in the post-test. This program successfully enhanced students' awareness of maintaining mental health to face challenges in the digital era

Abstract

In this digital era, all groups are required to be able to keep up with the times. The development of information technology is now able to change the competency needs of the workforce in various sectors. Mastery of computers and office applications is one of the basic skills that must be possessed by all people in increasing competitiveness in the world of work, but there are still several groups of people who still have limitations in operating computers, especially in Microsoft Office applications and also the use of the internet as a means of supporting productivity. This is also found in community groups who are partners in activities at LKP Ivan Private Course Pematangsiantar. Therefore, this Community Service activity aims to improve the work competency of participants through computer training activities. The implementation method carried out in this activity consists of several stages, starting from identifying partner needs, preparing training models, implementing training, mentoring and also evaluation. This training is carried out through participatory activities so that participants gain new experiences. The results of this Community Service activity show an increase in knowledge, skills and also self-confidence in participants. Participants are also able to use Microsoft Office applications, make presentations and utilize technology. This activity has had a significant positive impact on all members of the community. Through this activity, participants are able to increase their opportunities for employment or develop independent businesses

Abstract

Violence in education remains a common issue, including physical, verbal, and psychological violence. This condition can negatively affect students’ emotional development and learning motivation. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve teachers’ understanding of non-violent education and positive communication in the learning process. This community service activity aimed to improve the understanding and skills of kindergarten and elementary school teachers at Sekolah Mutiara Global Pekanbaru in implementing humanistic, child-friendly, and violence-free learning through the workshop entitled Becoming Great Teachers Without Violence. The method used in this activity was Participatory Action Research (PAR), consisting of observation, problem identification, problem formulation, workshop implementation, and evaluation stages. Data were collected through observation, interviews, discussions, and documentation. The results showed an increase in teachers’ understanding of non-violent education, positive communication, emotional management, and positive discipline in learning. Teachers also experienced changes in their perspectives regarding school discipline by applying more empathetic and humanistic approaches toward students. This activity proved that participatory-based workshops can help teachers create a safe, comfortable, and supportive learning environment for students’ character development

Abstract

Strengthening students' character has become one of the primary priorities in Islamic education, particularly within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), which play a strategic role in shaping the moral values and leadership of the younger generation. However, many students still demonstrate limited awareness in practicing social responsibility and environmental stewardship. This community service program aimed to strengthen students' character through the internalization of the Khalifah fil Ard (vicegerency on earth) values in Islamic education. The program employed a participatory approach consisting of educational seminars, group discussions, character development training, and social service activities within the pesantren environment. A total of 40 students actively participated in all stages of the program. The results indicated a significant improvement in students' understanding of the Khalifah fil Ard concept, accompanied by positive behavioral changes reflected in increased discipline, responsibility, social awareness, and environmental consciousness. Furthermore, the program encouraged students to apply Islamic leadership values in their daily lives. Therefore, the internalization of Khalifah fil Ard values can serve as an effective strategy for strengthening character education among students in Islamic boarding schools
