Abstract

Humans were created from various tribes and nations to get to know each other. According to the Qur'an, humans are naturally social creatures and live in society. Several verses in the Qur'an instruct humanity to always think about forming a society with certain qualities, so that it is very possible for humanity to reconstruct a picture of an ideal society based on the instructions of the Qur'an. In the Islamic view, society is a means for implementing Islamic teachings concerning living together and side by side, so society must become the basis for the framework of worldly life for the unity and cooperation of the people towards a human growth that realizes equality and justice. This community service aims to grow the Muslim community's awareness of the poor and those in need. This service was carried out in South Tengkerang District, Pekanbaru, Riau. The extension program is implemented using the PAR (Participatory Action Research) method, which involves researchers and participants in collaboration to encourage active participation, feedback and joint knowledge creation. One proof of the transformational power of this training is the fact that the community admits that the training has changed their understanding of social life by emulating the personality of ash-Habul Jannah based on the Koran. Living side by side in society cannot be separated from the attitude of sharing with the poor and people in need

Abstract

Students' lives will always be influenced by technology. Not only at school, students at home also collaborate with technology. In fact, modern technology makes everything simpler. On the contrary, students tend to be lethargic and want everything immediately because of technology. This is because students often have easy access to everything quickly / instantly. So, if they experience an obstacle, students want to solve the obstacle instantly and without thinking twice. The purpose of implementing this PKM is to provide knowledge through socialization to students about digital technology that affects the behavior of students. This community service activity is carried out using discussion methods, Q&A and programmed lectures, according to the summary that the PKM team has prepared. The results obtained from this activity were when the PKM team asked questions to the students, some of the students answered that with the current digital technology they can very easily find out about developments in the outside world and easily gain insight into the learning they are undergoing, some others admitted that by often playing gadgets (cellphones) they become lazy to read books or look for learning materials directly from books, they prefer to look for answers or something from Google Internet only

Abstract

Strengthening teachers' competence in classroom management is a crucial aspect of creating an effective and conducive learning environment, especially at the elementary education level. This community service program aimed to enhance the capacity of teachers at MI Kota Tengah, Rokan Hulu, through character-based classroom management training. The training was designed to integrate classroom management strategies with character education in order to foster moral values within the learning process. The implementation began with a needs assessment conducted through direct observation and in-depth interviews with the principal and teachers, which served as the basis for developing contextually relevant training modules. The training was delivered through an interactive workshop using lectures, group discussions, case studies, and classroom simulations. After the workshop, teachers received classroom-based mentoring and feedback from the service team. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test instruments, as well as classroom observations and teacher reflections. The results indicated a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding and skills in managing classrooms and incorporating character values into instruction. In conclusion, the training effectively enhanced teachers’ pedagogical competence and contributed to building a more positive and character-oriented learning environment

Abstract

The lack of understanding among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) regarding sharia-based marketing management and the obligation of business zakat remains a major challenge, especially among local food producers such as tofu and tempeh businesses. This community service project aimed to strengthen both managerial and spiritual capacities of entrepreneurs through education and mentoring based on Islamic values in business practices. The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR), directly involving the owner and employees of Pabrik Tahu dan Tempe Pak Wujud in Rambah Muda, Rokan Hulu. Activities included observation, training, simulation, and continuous evaluation. The results show significant improvements in understanding of sharia marketing, the ability to calculate and distribute business zakat, and more ethical and professional business behavior. The partner began implementing simple financial records, ethical promotions, and fair pricing strategies. In conclusion, the participatory approach proved effective in encouraging sustainable behavioral change and fostering Islamic economic awareness. This model can be replicated to empower other MSMEs based on Islamic economic values.

Abstract

Micro and small enterprises in rural areas have significant potential to strengthen local economies but often face challenges in product legality. One such case involves Kerupuk Cita Rasa, a home industry owned by Aji Syafji in Pematang Berangan Village, Rokan Hulu Regency, which has yet to obtain a registered trademark and halal certification. This community service program aimed to provide integrated outreach on the importance of trademark registration and halal certification as a strategy to improve business competitiveness. The activities were carried out using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach through seminars, interactive discussions, document-filling simulations, and the preparation of follow-up action plans (RTL). The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of the legalization process. A total of six participants began registering their trademarks, while four others prepared the required documents for halal certification. Furthermore, the PAR approach proved effective in encouraging active participation and strong commitment to legal business development. This program is expected to serve as a replicable model for educating and empowering micro-enterprises in other areas

Abstract

Public speaking is an essential skill that should be developed from an early age to foster students’ confidence and communication abilities. Initial observations at SD Islam Fastabiqul Khairot revealed that many upper-grade students experienced anxiety and a lack of self-confidence when speaking in public. To address this issue, this community service program was implemented in the form of basic public speaking training using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The training consisted of eight sessions and involved 11 students from grades IV, utilizing interactive methods such as role-play, storytelling, and group presentations. The results of the pre-test and post-test showed significant improvement: the number of students in the low-confidence category decreased from 7 to 1, while those in the high and very high categories increased from 1 to 6 students. Student participation also improved, with 72.8% categorized as active or highly active during the sessions. This program proved effective in enhancing students’ communication skills and encouraging them to speak confidently in public. Therefore, the basic public speaking training is recommended for continued implementation and expansion to other education levels

Abstract

This study was motivated by the condition of Sungai Pinang Village, Kampar Regency, which possesses considerable agricultural, fisheries, and cultural potential, yet remains underutilized due to limited access and low levels of digital literacy. The purpose of this research was to formulate a community empowerment model based on local village potential through digitalization to enhance community capacity and expand market access. The method applied was community service with a participatory approach using Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD). The stages of implementation included asset and problem mapping, socialization, digital literacy training, formation of village digital cadres, development of digital platforms, program implementation, mentoring, and participatory evaluation. The subjects of this study were community members and village officials, while data were collected through surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, and direct observation. The findings revealed a significant increase in digital literacy, content creation skills, and the use of online marketplaces. The level of community understanding of smartphone usage increased from 45% to 85%, content creation skills improved from 15% to 70%, and the use of digital platforms for business grew from 25% to 78%. These results demonstrate that digitalization not only enhances technical skills but also shifts community mindsets to become more adaptive to technology. In conclusion, village digitalization based on local potential proved effective as a sustainable and inclusive empowerment strategy that fosters community welfare. The implication of this research suggests the need for stronger digital infrastructure and continuous mentoring to ensure the program’s replication in other villages

Abstract

This community service program was motivated by the fact that many madrasahs still face difficulties in developing the Madrasah Operational Curriculum (KOM) in line with the Independent Curriculum framework. The main objective was to improve teachers’ competence in designing a contextual and applicable KOM and annual work program in accordance with the latest regulations. The method employed was Participatory Action Research (PAR) through a collaborative workshop involving 22 teachers and education staff of MI Al-Kifayah Pekanbaru. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis, and were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach. The results indicated a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding, from 70% who had limited knowledge at the beginning to 90% who felt confident in curriculum design after the training. All participants attended the three-day workshop actively, producing a complete KOM document for the 2025/2026 academic year, an integrated annual work program, and an internal curriculum development team. These findings confirm that the PAR-based approach effectively enhanced teachers’ capacities and strengthened participatory-based madrasah governance. The program implies greater institutional independence in curriculum management, improvement of teachers’ digital literacy, and the potential replication of this mentoring model in other madrasahs.

Abstract

The community service program at the Iqra' Tarai Bangun Mosque in Kampar Regency focuses on improving Qur'an reading, with the main objective of improving the Qur'an reading skills of the community around the Iqra' Mosque, especially among mothers. Amidst the current weakness of religious education, especially in Qur'an reading skills, which requires a more innovative, creative, and inclusive approach, this service brings the practice of Tahsin closer to real needs in the field. The methods used include practical methods, questions and answers and discussions, as well as evaluation and feedback with the active involvement of the mothers of the Iqra' Mosque's Islamic study group. The main outcome of this program is an increase in the understanding and skills of mothers in reading the Qur'an. This program has succeeded in showing an increase in the understanding and skills of mothers in the Iqra' Mosque environment in reading the Qur'an. In conclusion, this service program has succeeded in achieving its goal of improving the quality of Qur'an reading by the mothers of the Islamic study group at the Iqra' Mosque by equipping the mothers with the tahsin method. This initiative reflects the importance of reading the Qur'an properly and correctly in everyday life to meet the demands of the times and prepare for the future

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out in Nagari Durian Tinggi, West Sumatra, with the aim of empowering the community through the innovation of processing gambier into economically valuable herbal tea. Until now, gambier has mostly been sold in raw form at a relatively low price. In fact, gambier contains bioactive compounds such as catechins and tannins that are beneficial for health, making it highly potential to be developed into herbal drink products. The method applied in this activity was Participatory Action Research (PAR), which actively involved lecturers, students, and the local community in the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. The program was conducted through counseling, discussions, and hands-on practice of processing gambier into herbal tea, including raw material selection, processing, drying, and packaging. The results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge, skills, and awareness regarding the diversification of gambier products. Participants were able to produce simple herbal tea products with higher economic value compared to raw gambier. Therefore, this innovation is expected to improve community welfare, strengthen local economic independence, and encourage the development of sustainable, locally based businesses
