Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the Improvement of Islamic Religious Education Learning Outcomes on Asmaulhusna Material for students using the Make A Match Method. The type of research that researchers use is class action research. This research was conducted in the 2023 school year. The data source I took was the main or primary data source, namely class IV students of SDN 11 Bengkulu Selatan consisting of 20 students. Supplementary or secondary data collection techniques I took from the teacher as an observation when the learning process took place for 3 cycles, namely cycle 1, cycle 2 and cycle 3. Data collection is done using written tests. From the results of the researchers, the Aqidah learning outcomes of students have increased by using Make a Match. This is evidenced by the percentage of learning outcomes in stage I 55%, stage II 75% and stage III 90%. It is from these results that researchers assume that learning outcomes have improved. The contribution of the results of this study as information in the field of Islamic religious education and as a novelty of findings on the use of the make a match method in learning asmaulhusna material in dadsar schools.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of reading interest on student learning outcomes and how much contribution (significance) reading interest has on student learning outcomes. The research method uses a correlational associative approach. This research was conducted at SDN 02 Lubuklinggau. The research sample was class VI students as many as 38 students. The results showed that the independent variable (reading interest) influenced the dependent variable (learning outcomes) by 747%. The conclusion of the research reveals that there is an influence of reading interest on student learning outcomes at SDN 02 Lubuklinggau. The contribution of the results of this study as enrichment material related to the problem of low student learning outcomes is caused by the factor of low student reading interest, the role of elementary school teachers can provide learning that is based on increasing student reading interest.

Abstract

The reading ability of primary school students is still low, and there are still many elementary school students who are not fluent in speed reading. Therefore, teachers are expected to overcome the problems that occur in students. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the role-playing method as a medium to improve students' reading skills. The research method used pre-experiment research with a pretest-posttest design. This research was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah Wonokromo 1 in the 2022 academic year. The research sample was 25 students. Data collection using a reading ability scale. Data analysis using statistical analysis (t-test). The results showed the sig value = 0.000, which means it is smaller than α 0.05 (Ho: rejected and Ha: accepted). The results of the study concluded that the role-playing method can effectively be used as a medium to improve the reading skills of elementary school students. The results of this study contribute as a novelty and study material both theoretically and practically regarding the effectiveness of the role-playing method as a medium to improve the reading skills of elementary school students.

Abstract

Background: The Igbo language, as one of Nigeria's major indigenous languages, faces challenges in its effective transmission to younger generations. Despite its cultural and academic importance, its teaching and learning in secondary schools encounter various obstacles that affect students’ proficiency and interest. Objective: This study aims to examine the key factors influencing the teaching and learning of the Igbo language in secondary schools in Onitsha North Local Government Area, Anambra State, Nigeria. Method: A descriptive survey design was employed. Data were collected from both teachers and students through structured instruments to capture the diverse elements affecting language instruction and acquisition in real classroom contexts. Result: The findings indicate that teacher qualification significantly impacts student performance, with trained Igbo language specialists contributing positively to academic achievement. However, challenges such as lack of instructional materials, insufficient time allocation for language instruction, and mother-tongue interference hinder effective teaching. Additionally, the home environment presents mixed influences while parental support can enhance learning, the prevalent use of non-standard Igbo at home may impede correct usage and understanding.  Conclusion: Improving the teaching and learning of Igbo requires addressing both in-school and out-of-school factors. Emphasis must be placed on teacher training, provision of teaching resources, and balanced time management, alongside fostering supportive and linguistically rich home environments. Contribution: This study contributes to the growing body of research on indigenous language preservation and education. It provides practical insights for policymakers, educators, and curriculum planners to develop targeted interventions that strengthen Igbo language education and encourage its sustained use among younger generations.

Since the population was manageable, no sampling was conducted. 50 completed questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics (Mean and Standard Deviation), and internal consistency was measured using Cronbach Alpha, yielding a reliability score of 0.91. Result: Teachers faced difficulties in teaching differences among pre-colonial Nigerian civilizations, the evolution of the Nigerian state, and the centralization of power and authority. Conclusion: Addressing these teaching challenges requires enhanced support and resources for history educators. Contribution: The study highlights the need for government funding, financial support, and budget allocation to provide materials for student assessment and improve history education quality.
