Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategic role of the ship scrapping industry in supporting a sustainable maritime circular economy ecosystem. The research employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach, utilizing content analysis of academic journals, industry reports, and international regulations. Data were gathered from various authoritative sources to identify best practices and global standards in ship lifecycle management. The results indicate that the ship scrapping industry serves as a vital hub for secondary material recovery, reducing reliance on virgin raw materials and facilitating global fleet renewal. However, the study finds a significant disparity in the implementation of safety and environmental standards as mandated by the Hong Kong Convention; countries such as Turkey and China lead in compliance, while major recycling hubs in South Asia remain in a transitional phase. As a prominent maritime nation, Indonesia possesses significant potential to integrate this industry into its national circular economy agenda through the development of eco-friendly shipyard infrastructure. This study recommends the synchronization of national regulations with international standards to optimize the potential of the maritime circular economy while mitigating environmental risks associated with ship recycling activities in Indonesia.

Abstract

Sustainable marine ecotourism management requires effective financing planning to maintain the sustainability of coastal ecosystems while improving the quality of tourism services. This study aims to analyze the role of contribution costs incurred by various stakeholders, including local governments, tourist destination managers, and local communities, in supporting sustainable marine ecotourism management in Kendari City. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method, by examining various relevant scientific sources related to the concept of ecotourism, sustainable development, and contribution cost mechanisms in coastal natural resource management. Data was collected through a search of scientific journals, policy reports, and other supporting documents, then analyzed in a descriptive-analytical manner to identify cost allocation patterns and their impact on ecotourism sustainability. The results of the study show that contribution costs allocated in a structured and transparent manner play an important role in strengthening environmental conservation efforts, increasing the attractiveness of tourist destinations, and encouraging the active participation of local communities in preserving marine ecosystems. In addition, multi-stakeholder involvement in ecotourism management financing has been proven to improve management effectiveness and long-term sustainability. This study confirms that proper planning and management of contribution costs is an important foundation in the formulation of sustainable marine ecotourism policies in Kendari City. Therefore, this study recommends the need for the preparation of an integrated, accountable, and participatory contribution fee scheme as the basis for strengthening sustainable marine ecotourism management policies.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation in minimizing accounting errors while emphasizing its theoretical contribution to the growing body of AI-based accounting literature. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, twenty academic articles published between 2022 and 2025 were analyzed and categorized into three core themes: AI in error detection and correction, automation for reducing human error, and AI-based internal control and auditing. The findings reveal that AI technologies such as machine learning and anomaly detection are effective in identifying and correcting common accounting errors, including data entry mistakes, account misclassification, and fictitious transactions. Moreover, automation enhances operational efficiency, reduces manual workloads, supports real-time monitoring, and enables continuous auditing processes. Theoretically, this study strengthens the conceptualization of AI as a mechanism for accounting error mitigation rather than solely as an efficiency tool. The study concludes with a recommendation for future empirical research across industries to explore ethical integration and sustainable implementation of AI within accounting systems.

Abstract

This study presents a systematic literature review that examines the relationship between innovation-based organizational culture and employee performance in the pharmaceutical industry. The highly regulated and knowledge-based pharmaceutical industry demands innovation not only in the aspects of research and development but also in human resource management practices. Through thematic analysis of empirical and conceptual studies for the 2018-2023 period, this study identifies seven main dimensions of innovation culture that are strongly correlated with improved employee performance, namely risk tolerance, collaborative innovation, continuous learning orientation, leadership support, employee autonomy, communication openness, and special time allocation for innovation. These dimensions have been shown to drive innovative work behaviors, adaptability, and productivity of pharmaceutical employees. This research makes an important contribution to the strategic management of human resources in making the culture of innovation a mechanism to improve the performance and competitiveness of regulated organizations.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine how PT Tempo Scan Group's daily care product marketing in North Surabaya is influenced by digital promotion, word of mouth, and product quality in relation to customer satisfaction. The researchers in this study used a quantitative technique based on survey data. Questionnaires were sent out to customers who had utilised PT Tempo Scan Group's daily care items in order to gather data. One hundred participants were selected using a purposive sampling method. Multiple linear regression with conventional assumption tests (e.g., normalcy, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity) and hypothesis testing (e.g., t-test and F-test) were used to analyse the data. There is a favourable and statistically significant relationship between customer happiness and digital marketing, word of mouth, and product quality. Among these factors, product quality was determined to have the greatest impact on customer satisfaction. These results point to the importance of positive consumer communication, consistent product quality, and successful digital promotional techniques in increasing consumer satisfaction in the daily care product business.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that affect the determination of freight transportation rates at Bungkutoko Kendari Port. The research method used is a literature study by examining scientific articles, shipping regulations, and sea transportation policies that apply in Indonesia. The analysis was carried out in a descriptive-qualitative manner to identify and examine the main variables that affect the formation of tariffs. The results of the study show that the determination of freight transportation tariffs is influenced by ship operational costs, shipping distance and travel time, port infrastructure conditions, volume and types of goods, government policies, and fuel price fluctuations, where operational costs and government policies are the dominant factors. In addition, the imbalance between the demand and supply of sea transportation services also contributes to the variation in tariffs at Bungkutoko Kendari Port. These findings recommend the need to improve operational efficiency, improve port infrastructure, and adjust adaptive and transparent tariff policies to create a more efficient, competitive, and sustainable freight tariff system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the basis for the rejection of the dispute by the Pamekasan Religious Court due to the existence of a sharia arbitration clause in Decision Number 1321/Pdt.G/2017/P.A. Pmk. The problems studied in this study include the position of the sharia arbitration clause in sharia economic disputes, the absolute authority of the Religious Court and its limits, and the judge's legal considerations in rejecting the lawsuit. This study uses qualitative research methods with a normative juridical approach and a case approach. Data was obtained through literature studies by examining laws and regulations, court decisions, and relevant legal literature. The results of the study show that the sharia arbitration clause has binding force as a valid arbitration agreement, thus causing legal consequences in the form of transferring the dispute resolution forum from the Religious Court to the sharia arbitration institution. The absolute authority of the Religious Court in sharia economic disputes is not absolute if the parties have agreed on the sharia arbitration clause in the contract. The judge's legal considerations in the judgment under review show the application of the provisions of Law Number 30 of 1999 concerning Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution as well as the principle of pacta sunt servanda as the basis for rejecting the dispute. This study concludes that the rejection of the dispute provides legal certainty, but also requires an adequate understanding from the parties regarding the legal consequences of the sharia arbitration clause to ensure legal protection and substantive justice.

Abstract

This study seeks to examine the impact of product quality, brand image, and price perception on consumer satisfaction for Sweety nappy goods in Surabaya. The competitive dynamics of the infant nappy industry, along with variations in Sweety sales, need an assessment of the elements influencing consumer satisfaction levels. The employed study strategy is a quantitative approach, utilising questionnaires distributed to Sweety consumers in the Surabaya region. Product quality factors are measured through indications of durability, reliability, conformance to standards, and simplicity of use. Brand image is assessed by identity, personality, associations, brand attitudes and behaviours, and perceived advantages. Price perception is assessed based on affordability, price competitiveness, alignment of price with product quality, and alignment of price with advantages. This study aims to deliver an empirical analysis of the primary variables affecting consumer satisfaction with Sweety, serving as a foundation for companies to enhance marketing strategies, elevate product quality, and fortify brand image in the increasingly competitive baby diaper sector. The results indicate that product quality has a positive and significant effect on consumer satisfaction, suggesting that consumers feel satisfied when baby diapers have good absorbency, soft materials, and are comfortable to use. Brand image also has a positive and significant effect, meaning that consumers’ perceptions of Sweety’s reputation and trust contribute to increased satisfaction. In contrast, price perception has a positive but insignificant effect, indicating that consumers place greater emphasis on product quality and brand trust than on price considerations. Simultaneously, product quality, brand image, and price perception significantly influence consumer satisfaction. These findings confirm that product quality and brand image are dominant factors that should be prioritized by companies to enhance consumer satisfaction and loyalty amid the growing competition in the baby diaper industry.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the post-COVID-19 global trade recovery on the four principal markets of the shipping industry: the freight market, second-hand ship market, newbuilding market, and ship demolition market. Employing a literature review approach, the study synthesizes recent academic and industry evidence to identify structural changes that emerged during and after the pandemic. The findings indicate that COVID-19 generated significant disruptions across global supply chains, leading to operational inefficiencies, port congestion, fluctuating demand patterns, and unprecedented increases in charter rates. As international trade gradually recovered, the shipping industry experienced notable market adjustments. The newbuilding market expanded in response to renewed trade demand and fleet modernization requirements, while the second-hand ship market exhibited substantial price volatility driven by shifting market expectations and capacity constraints. Simultaneously, the demolition market was influenced by cyclical freight conditions and increasingly stringent environmental regulations aimed at reducing emissions and promoting sustainable shipping practices. The study further reveals that national and international regulatory frameworks have played a critical role in accelerating efficiency improvements, enhancing maritime safety, and supporting industry-wide decarbonization efforts. Overall, the post-pandemic recovery has not merely restored shipping activities but has also transformed the industry's operational and strategic landscape. The shipping sector is increasingly characterized by digitalization, resilience-oriented management, environmental sustainability, and adaptive market mechanisms. These findings contribute to a broader understanding of how global crises reshape maritime markets and provide insights for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and researchers seeking to navigate the evolving dynamics of the global shipping industry.
