Abstract

This study aims to explore effective Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Character Building learning strategies for slow learner students in grade VII at SMP Negeri 2 Baturraden. Slow learner students have below average academic achievement and require more intensive time and practice to master the material. The importance of PAI and Character Building for slow learner students is emphasized as a guide to life. With the aim of knowing the process of implementing PAI learning for slow learner students in the school. The results of the study concluded that the PAI and Character Building learning strategies for slow learner students in grade VII at SMP Negeri 2 Baturraden were designed by considering the diversity of student characteristics. PAI and Character Building teachers implemented Cooperative Learning strategies and personal or individual approaches as the main approaches. Cooperative Learning allows students to learn in groups, help each other, and share understanding, while Active Learning strategies actively involve students in learning activities such as discussions, questions and answers, simulations, and direct practice. The combination of these two strategies has proven effective in creating an adaptive, meaningful, and empowering Islamic Education (PAI) learning process for all students, especially slow learners, so that they not only understand the material but also experience improvements in social, emotional, and spiritual aspects

Abstract

The learning of Al-Qur’an and Hadith plays an essential role in shaping students' understanding of the Qur’anic and Hadith content within the school environment. This learning process presents unique challenges for educators, as it is not only aimed at transmitting religious knowledge but also at cultivating moral values, ethics, and spirituality in students’ daily lives, as reflected in the teachings of the Qur’an and hadith. One common issue is the low level of active student participation during the learning process and the difficulty teachers face in fostering learning motivation. As an alternative solution, an active learning approach through the discovery learning model can be implemented. This model provides students with the opportunity to be directly involved in the exploration, discovery, and observation of subject matter. Thus, learners become active participants in the learning process and gain a deeper understanding of content derived from the Qur’an and Hadith. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the discovery learning model in Al-Qur’an hadith instruction at MAN 3 Banyumas. The method used is a qualitative approach through a case study with field research design. The study was conducted at MAN 3 Banyumas, Sumpiuh District. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. To ensure data validity, triangulation techniques were applied. The results showed that the application of the discovery learning model in Al-Qur’an Hadith learning was generally carried out in two main stages: implementation and evaluation. The implementation phase consists of three learning activities introductory, core, and closing activities while the evaluation phase was conducted using both test and non-test instruments

Abstract

In this modern era, the younger generation is facing an increasingly concerning moral crisis. The role of Islamic religious education teachers is crucial in instilling religious values ​​through the application of effective and appropriate learning strategies. This study aims to determine the strategies implemented by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in an effort to improve students' spiritual intelligence at SMK Negeri 1 Kaligondang. In facing moral challenges and character crises in the modern era, spiritual intelligence is an important aspect that must be instilled early on through an educational approach. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses qualitative data analysis interactive models from Miles and Huberman which include data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. In addition, to test the validity of the data, triangulation techniques were used. The results of the study showed that PAI teachers implemented various strategies, including the habituation of daily religious activities such as congregational dhuha and dzuhur prayers, memorizing short letters, as well as using Islamic storytelling methods, exemplary methods and talaqqi methods in the learning process. These strategies have proven to be able to encourage students to better understand and practice religious values ​​in their daily lives. In addition, teacher role models and school environmental support are important factors in the process of improving students' spiritual intelligence.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the efforts of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in instilling values of religious moderation at SMP Negeri 01 Mandiraja. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study involves observations, interviews, and documentation from PAI teachers, eighth-grade students, and the school principal. The findings indicate that PAI teachers employ various effective strategies, such as integrating moderation values into the curriculum through exemplary stories and everyday life examples, aimed at teaching students to appreciate differences and adopt a tolerant attitude. Additionally, the practice of greetings, smiles, and salutations (3S), along with group discussions, contributes to positive interactions among students. Activities such as Quran recitation, literacy, and Dhuha prayers strengthen students' spiritual character and instill important values of moderation. The management of an inclusive school environment and religious events that respect differences further reinforce the school's commitment to religious tolerance. Through process-based evaluations, teachers can assess students' understanding of moderation values in their social interactions. The academic contribution of this research is expected to serve as a reference for the development of better curricula and educational practices in other schools, as well as to encourage further research on the effectiveness of the methods used in a broader context

Abstract

Character is a trait exists in a person that is related to God Almihjty, oneself, fellow human beings and the environment around them. Character can be formed in several ways, one of which is by getting used to praying in congregation, Getting used to praying in congregation can help students to have better character, especially religious character and disciplined character. This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of the method of getting used to praying in congregation to form religious and disciplined character in students in Islamic Religious Education learning at State Vocational High School 1 Randudongkal Pemalang. Thr research method used is a case study with a gualititative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviewsa with Islamic religious education teachers and students and documentation of the implementation of the method getting used to praying in congregation. The subjects of the study werw Islamic Religious education teachers and students of State Vocational High Scool 1 Randudongkal Pemalang. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the method habituation of congregational payer is effective in forming religious character and discipline of students in Islamic Religious Education learning. The habituation is carried out through several stages, namely planning, implementation and evaluation. The planning is thar create teaching modules, prayer schedules, imam, muezzin, and congregational prayer attendance. Implementation, the teacher invites students perform congregational prayers, delivers lectures that form religious character and discipline of students, in learning links Islamic Religious Educational material with prayer. The evaluation concuted by the Islamic Religioys Education teacher on the habit of praying in congregation by students is by observing students who perform congregational prayers in the mosque, observing changes in students attitudes when performing congregational prayers and observing students prayer attendance. This habit has a positive impact on changes in students character, such as obeying the commands of Allah SWT, getting closer to Allah SWT, being on time in perfoming prayer and obeying the rules that have been set.

Abstract

In educational institutions, a person who plays an important role in shaping student behavior is an educator, where an educator must teach and provide good moral guidance to students, either in the form of learning materials taught in class or in the form of an approach, and indirectly students will follow the direction taught by their educators, whether in the form of attitudes, materials and morals. One of the good morals that an educator needs to instill in their students is an attitude of ta’zim. The purpose of the researcher in this study is to find out how the efforts of Islamic religious and moral teachers in instilling students' attitudes of respect for teachers. The type of research used in this thesis is field research, namely research activities carried out in the community environment. The data sources used are primary data sources, namely data sources obtained directly from Islamic Religious Education Teachers and students, secondary data sources, namely data sources obtained from books and research related to the problems that the author is studying. The data collection methods used are observation, interview and documentation methods. The data analysis method used is descriptive analysis based on facts. From the results of the research that the researcher studied, it can be concluded that Islamic religious and moral teachers at SMP Islam Ta'allumul Huda Bumiayu in instilling a sense of ta’zim for students use various methods and approaches in the form of a habituation method where the method is that students are accustomed to activities such as greeting and shaking hands with teachers, secondly media and reinforcement through religious activities such as tadarus al-Quran every morning, praying Duha and praying Duhur in congregation and thirdly, namely the integration of ta'zim values in teaching and learning activities such as providing material in the form of polite attitudes in respecting older people

Abstract

Improving the quality of learning requires teachers to choose methods that encourage active student participation, one of which is through an active learning approach. This study aims to describe the implementation of the active learning method in learning Aqidah Akhlak at MA Ma'arif NU Sains Al-Qur'an Sumbang Banyumas. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the active learning method is implemented through several strategies such as discussion, question and answer, and peer teaching, which are carried out in stages starting from problem identification, asking questions, planning and implementing investigations, data analysis, drawing conclusions, to presenting results. The implementation of this method has been proven to be able to increase students' activeness, understanding, and critical thinking skills. Despite obstacles such as differences in student abilities, limited time, and limited facilities, teachers are able to overcome these through guidance and motivation to students.

Abstract

The character of social care is one of the characters formed through the habituation method, namely Friday almsgiving. This study aims to describe and analyze the strategy of Islamic Religious Education teachers in forming student’s social care character through the habituation method of Friday almsgiving at SMA Negeri 1 Randudongkal Pemalang. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews with the principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers and students, and documentation of friday almsgiving activities. Using data analysis such as data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. For data validity, triangulation techniques were used. This study produced the following description that the character of social care includes exemplary behavior, namely Islamic Religious Education teachers participate in giving alms. Discipline, namely Islamic Religious Education teachers monitor and assist in the implementation of almsgiving activities, make schedules and reports related to almsgiving activities. Habituation through Friday almsgiving activities using four methods includes routine activities, namely the habituation of Friday almsgiving is carried out routinely every Friday. Spontaneous activities carried out include visiting friends who are sick or paying condolences when a student’s guardian dies. The role meodel carried out is the Islamic Religious Education teachers participate in giving alms. The programmed activities carried out are sacrificial practice. The habit of giving alms on Fridays can have a positive impact on students, such as being more concerned about others and being wiser in managing money.

Abstract

Religious character education has become an urgent necessity amid the widespread moral degradation among the younger generation, including santri who are expected to serve as role models in morals and spirituality. Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren) play a significant role in shaping this character through systematic and continuous religious activities. The main issue in this study is how the habituation of reading Rātibul Haddād contributes to the formation of the religious character of students at Pondok Pesantren Al-Falah Jatilawang, Banyumas. The aim of this research is to describe the process of religious character formation among santri through the regular practice of reading Rātibul Haddād within the pesantren environment. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including participatory observation, in-depth interviews with caregivers, teachers, and santri, as well as documentation of activities. The research was conducted at Pondok Pesantren Al-Falah Jatilawang, Banyumas, focusing on students who consistently participate in the reading of Rātibul Haddād . The data were analyzed using the stages of compiling, disassembling, reassembling, interpreting, and concluding. The results show that the formation of students’ religious character through the reading of Rātibul Haddād involves five main stages: (1) preparation for the recitation activity, (2) implementation of the recitation in both collective (jama‘ah) and individual settings, (3) habituation and religious character formation, (4) monitoring and evaluation of student behavior by caregivers and teachers, and (5) identifying and addressing obstacles such as a lack of focus or motivation among some students

Abstract

Students’ interest in learning Islamic Cultural History tends to be low due to monotonous teaching methods. Conventional teaching dominated by lectures often fails to involve students actively. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Video Critic method in fostering students’ learning interest in Islamic Cultural History subjects at MTs Ma’arif NU 2 Cilongok. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included Islamic Cultural History teachers and seventh-grade students. The results showed that the implementation of the Video Critic method was carried out through three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. The planning stage involved preparing lesson plans and selecting videos relevant to the material. During the implementation stage, students watched educational videos, analyzed content, participated in group discussions, and presented their findings. Evaluation was conducted through observation of student engagement and assessment of discussion outcomes. This method effectively increased students’ learning interest by creating an engaging, interactive, and enjoyable learning atmosphere. Students became more enthusiastic, confident in expressing opinions, and showed increased interest in the subject. Therefore, the Video Critic method can serve as an alternative teaching strategy to enhance student participation and learning motivation.
