Abstract

This study aims to analyze student learning independence towards the ability of physics science literacy class VII students of SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidimpuan. The formulation of the problem found in this activity is How is the contribution of Independent Learning to the Physics Literacy Ability of Class VII Students of SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidimpuan? . This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidimpuan class VII with a sample size of 30 students. The instrument used is independent learning using a questionnaire with a Likert scale while the literacy test is using student exam results tests, besides that documentation is also used in this activity. This test was first validated to students and experts in this case using 2 teachers. The data analysis technique used is the normality test, homogeneity test, linearity test and hypothesis testing using hypothesis testing. The conclusion obtained from this study is that there is a relationship between learning independence and scientific literacy of class VII students of SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidimpuan with a significant coefficient of 0.459 which is categorized as high

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between kinesthetic learning styles and activeness of learning physics in class X student of SMK Negeri 1 Angkola Timur with a total of 25 studentd. The instrument in this study was a kinesthetic learning style questionnaire and active learning. The type in this study was correlation. Data analysis techniques used the normality test, homogeneity, linearity test hypothesis testing using regression and correlation tests. The result showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between kinesthetic learning styles and active learning physics for class X student of SMK Negeri 1 Angkola Timur. Kinesthetic learning (X) with learning activiness (Y) with high correlation criteria, namely 53,3%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of problem based learning models on students' physics problem solving abilities. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Batang Angkola with a total sample of 35 students. Sampling used a simple random sampling technique with data collection using a test of students' Physics Problem Solving Ability with an essay form of 10 questions. Students' physics problem-solving abilities use Polya's theory which includes understanding problems, making plans, doing calculations, and reviewing. Data analysis of the two groups used the t test. based on data processing shows that the value of Sig (2-tailed) <.000 <0.05, ie H0 is rejected. The ability to solve physics problems of students who are taught using the problem-based learning model is higher with an average value of 87.78571 than the problem-solving abilities of students who are taught physics using a learning model that is usually carried out by teachers with conventional learning, namely the 2013 curriculum scientific approach with an average value of 63.14286 . this shows that there is an influence of the problem posing learning model on students' physics problem-solving abilities in the matter of measuring quantities and units

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the problem posing learning model on students' physics problem-solving abilities. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Batang Angkola with a total sample of 33 students. Sampling used a simple random sampling technique with data collection using a test of students' Physics Problem Solving Ability with an essay form of 10 questions. Students' physics problem-solving abilities use Polya's theory which includes understanding problems, making plans, doing calculations, and reviewing. Data analysis of the two groups used the t test. based on data processing shows that the value of Sig (2-tailed) <.001 <0.05, H0 is rejected. The physics problem solving ability of students who were taught using the problem posing learning model was higher with an average value of 85.53 than the physics problem solving abilities of students who were taught using the usual learning model carried out by teachers with a scientific approach to the 2013 curriculum with an average value of 52.5. this shows that there is an influence of problem posing learning models on students' physics problem-solving abilities in Impulse and Momentum material.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes by using the jigsaw type cooperative learning model. The sample of this study were students of class X TBSM with a total sample of 36 people. This type of research is classroom action research. The analysis technique uses the average value. The conclusion of this study is that there is an increase in learning outcomes using the jigsaw type cooperative learning model, this can be seen from an increase in the pre-cycle in terms of the average value of student learning outcomes, which is 46.39, increasing in the first cycle to 63.89 and in the second cycle 80.33. And if viewed from the student's completeness obtained from the pre-cycle complete 6%, the first cycle 53% and the second cycle 92%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-concept and student learning outcomes in class VIII SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidimpuan Hutaimbaru Academic Year 2023-2024. The formulation of the problem obtained from this study is is there a relationship between self-concept and physics learning outcomes for Class VIII students of SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidimpuan Hutaimbaru for the 2023-2024 academic year. This research was conducted at Padangsidimpuan 9 Public Middle School with a total sample of 30 students. The instrument used was a questionnaire with a Likert scale and a test of learning outcomes through test scores at school. This type of research is quantitative research using the product moment test to test the hypothesis. Besides that, it also uses the normality test, hypothesis test and linearity test. The results of this study by conducting a correlation test obtained the relationship between self-concept and learning outcomes, this can be seen from the correlation value using the SPSS 17 application where the value is 0.048 which is smaller than the significant value of 0.05 which shows a positive relationship between self-concept and learning outcomes .

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between learning motivation and learning outcomes of Newton's Law material in class VIII at SMP Negeri 4 Angkola Selatan. . The sample of this research was class VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 Angkola Selatan with a sample size of 30 people. This type of research is correlation research. The analysis technique uses the product moment correlation value. The conclusions from this study concluded that the results of the analysis were based on the results of statistical calculations, namely the relationship between student motivation and learning outcomes in Newton's law material at SMP Negeri 4 Angkola Selatan. Judging from the value of the t test where 0.573 is greater than 2.052.

Abstract

Mathematical concepts can be used to explore mathematics in culture. The term used to associate mathematics and culture is ethnomathematics. Cultural elements such as traditional dances, traditional songs, customs, traditional languages, traditional games, traditional foods need to be preserved. One of them is Batak tribe. Batak tribe have traditional language and term of language is Batak script which was an important part of ancient times in writing documents, ancient manuscript, etc. The purpose of this research is to explore ethnomathematics in Batak scripts. This research was a qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. The results of this research found mathematical concepts, namely one dimensional geometry, intersecting lines, parallel lines, and acute angles. In addition, there is the concepts of geometric transformation, namely reflection on the x-axis and y-axis.

Abstract

This research originates from the reality on the ground, for students' academic grades on the subject of geometry, especially the area of flat shapes, is very low. After being identified, it turned out that the students really did not understand the questions, including the working procedures. This can be seen when students are given different questions. This situation is caused because students do not understand the basic concept of the area of a flat shape that is specific to squares and rectangles. This research is an effort to overcome the problems mentioned above, namely to increase students' understanding of the broad concept of flat shapes. a class action research conducted on third grade students at a public elementary school, to be precise Class A at SDN 321 Sinunukan involving 36 students. the principles of classroom action research (CAR) are used to understand the concept of the area of square and rectangular shapes. In their learning students carry out various activities in exploring the surrounding environment which in the end students find their own area of square and rectangular shapes (realistic mathematical approach) so that students are expected to be able to work on questions related to areadepth as a result of students really understand the concept of the area of a square and rectangle.In their learning activities students are assisted by a teaching tool (Mathematics tools) in the form of transparent plastic paper to help students measure the area of an area. in each cycle it is carried out through a series of processes in the form of plans (planning), act/do (action), observation (observation) and reflection (reflection)

Abstract

Teachers almost never carry out learning that is oriented towards higher order thinking skills (HOTS). The author also rarely uses learning media. As a result, the learning atmosphere in the classroom is stiff and the children don't look cheerful. .based on the results of interviews with several students, information was obtained that (a) students were lazy to attend lessons that were mostly carried out by the teacher by means of lectures (b) apart from lectures, the method that was always used by the teacher was assignments or homework (PR). Some students claim to be bored with tasks that are only theoretical. To face the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era, students must be equipped with higher-order thinking skills. One of the HOTS-oriented learning models and suggested in the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum is the Discovery Learning learning model. Discovery learning is a learning process that occurs when students are not presented with information directly but students are required to organize their understanding of that information independently. After carrying out the mathematics learning model of Discovery Learning, the authors found that the learning processes and results of students increased. Better than previous studies. When the Discovery Learning model was applied to other VIII graders, it turned out that the students' learning processes and outcomes were just as good. Discovery Learning learning practices that work well, the authors conclude as a HOTS-oriented learning best practice with the Discovery Learning model.
